Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | THE MORNING RANT: How Will People React to the Imposition of Climate “Emergency Powers”?Progressive lawmakers and activists are again imploring President Joe Biden to declare a climate emergency, citing the thick blanket of smoke from Canadian wildfires now shrouding the US Capitol and swaths of the Eastern seaboard. When Covid sharia was implemented, a surgical mask became the mandated sign of obedience to those who had seized emergency powers. What will be the mandatory badge of obedience when the climate emergency is declared? I don’t know what it will be, but there will be one. A visible sign of submission to your oppressors has been established as a precedent. All that said, I‘m almost wishing for the decree to happen. It would be a huge test for the future of our country. There is such widespread disgust about the Covid excesses that there should be no expectation that the citizenry will willingly comply again. The scientific “experts” have proven themselves over and over to be partisan political frauds who fold, spindle, and mutilate actual science to make it fit their political agenda. If there is once again widespread compliance with emergency powers in the name of “the climate crisis,” then there are not enough kicks from the mule to educate Americans on the destructive intents of those declaring emergencies. If so, we might as well give up on the concept of self-governance. Also, and I’m sorry if I step on any toes, but it was a Republican President, Donald Trump, who was initially pushing Covid lockdowns. Trump empowered Fauci and Birx with incredible authority to recommend and compel compliance with outrageous Covid emergency powers. There will not be conservatives supporting another lockdown, because there won’t be a Republican president pushing lockdowns like Trump did. If restrictions on our freedom are imposed under climate emergency orders, I believe that not only will people not willingly submit, but that they will enthusiastically defy them. And to be clear, I’m not talking about violent defiance, I’m just talking about what happens when a critical mass of people refuse to comply with prohibitions on how they live their lives. When President Nixon (also a Republican, go figure) signed legislation enacting the national 55-mph speed limit, it also empowered virtually every police agency in the nation to harass people for doing what they’d always done. People did not take kindly to having their driving habits suddenly being criminalized. So they defied the law en masse. And they defied the police. And they defied the federal government that imposed this ridiculous law. Sadly for law enforcement, it took police a long time to regain the respect they lost for their role in the 55-mph era. There is excitement and a newfound sense of empowerment among normal folks right now for how we have economically crippled Anheuser Busch as punishment for its offensive political activism, proving that America has a lot of fight in it right now. We are ready to fight back. Peacefully, but in large numbers. If President Biden tries to impose a climate emergency, America’s defiant non-compliance might be the punch back that finally makes the climate hoax a punch line.Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

I did get to see the test run's efficacy across different theaters of the psyop. I was living in the cobalt-blue part of CO at that time - but traveling frequently to visit my family in the South before pulling the trigger and moving down here full-time. The compliance level here was far too high. But it was *nothing* like as bad in my people's republic. Masking was much less prevalent, for one thing. I think probably about two-thirds of people at first, and then it dropped much more rapidly than in Big Blue. More importantly, the Karening was not noticeable. Karen was in full-on search-and-destroy mode in CO. Karen was having her moment of glory there, but here, everyone was much more laid back about the whole thing. There's room for improvement, no doubt. But the behavior of people during the psyop was a major determining factor for me, along with the crime and perversion back "home." I'll admit that I experienced a bit of stress every time I went anywhere. I was generally the only one not wearing a mask and was always waiting for someone to say or do something. Never happened but it's an odd feeling knowing you're walking into a place and openly defying its edicts. It took a while before a trip to the grocery store finally felt normal.
Posted by: The Central Scrutinizer at July 14, 2023 *** Oh, I had security guards brace me. At the effin' *grocery store*. I would flash my medical exemption letter and they'd let me go. At one point a halfwit "guard" examined the letter -- I wasn't sure from her expression that she could read it -- and actually said, "I t'ink dis is a fake." I told her, "Call the number on the letter and ask for the doctor." She shrugged and shuffled away. I wrote an angry letter to the manager and to the owner of the company. Joe Biden is just a Republican bogeyman:
In his comeback bid for the White House, the former president -- twice impeached but twice acquitted and now twice indicted -- has vowed that if reelected, he will wield his power to personally remake parts of the federal government to a degree that historian Mark Updegrove said was unprecedented. Trump has promised to hamstring perceived enemies, including in the Department of Justice, which is currently investigating him, and target Republican bogeymen like President Joe Biden. It was asked last thread, and I asked ChatGPT to make a Kamala speech:
It is an honor to stand before you today to discuss a topic that lies close to my heart—the wondrous lifecycle of trees. Just as the roots of a tree run deep into the earth, connecting it to the very essence of life, so too do the branches of our discussion reach out, connecting us to the profound interconnectedness of our world. When we contemplate the lifecycle of a tree, we bear witness to the extraordinary journey of resilience, growth, and renewal. From the tiniest seed buried beneath the soil, to the mighty trunk that stands tall against the winds of change, to the majestic canopy that embraces the heavens, trees embody the spirit of perseverance, strength, and hope. In the beginning, a tree emerges from a seed, buried in the fertile embrace of the earth. It germinates and reaches toward the sunlight, a symbol of ambition and the inherent yearning for progress that resides within us all. Just as a seedling requires nurturing care to flourish, we too must invest in the well-being of our communities, ensuring access to quality education, healthcare, and opportunity for every child. As the tree grows, its roots extend, anchoring it firmly to the ground. These roots represent our shared values, the bonds of family, and the strength of our communities. Just as a tree draws nourishment from the soil, we must recognize that our own growth is deeply intertwined with the well-being of others. We must cultivate empathy, compassion, and unity, recognizing that our destinies are inextricably linked.
The trunk of a tree stands tall and sturdy, weathering the storms and challenges that come its way. It symbolizes our collective resilience, the unwavering spirit that allows us to rise above adversity and build a brighter future. We must confront the urgent issues facing our planet—from climate change to environmental degradation—with unwavering determination, forging sustainable solutions that protect our natural resources and safeguard the well-being of generations to come. And then, we gaze upon the crown of a tree—the lush canopy that spreads its branches wide, providing shade, shelter, and respite. It represents the power of community, the beauty of diversity, and the strength that lies in unity. Just as a tree embraces countless species within its sheltering branches, we must strive for inclusivity, celebrating the richness of our differences and harnessing the collective potential that emerges when we stand together.
My friends, as we reflect on the tree lifecycle, let us draw inspiration from its profound wisdom. Let us plant the seeds of change in our hearts, nurture them with compassion, and watch them grow into a future where justice, equality, and sustainability thrive. Let us build strong roots of unity, understanding, and empathy, anchoring ourselves to the shared values that bind us as a global community. Together, let us be the mighty trunk that withstands the winds of adversity, refusing to be swayed from our course of progress and justice. And finally, let us extend our branches far and wide, embracing all who seek shelter, love, and belonging within the boundaries of our communities. Reduce the amount of electricity and fuels that are available to the public. Claim the only way to restore the energy needs is to go "green." There are some who say that Wall Street and the government have AI that's several generations ahead of what is publicly available. I doubt that because each of those have such structural advantages they don't need AI.
But I do think, they have access to the current top level stuff. It's why they were able to pull the "emergency " lie as to Covid. They call it "war-gaming" but that is a lie. But it really shows in their fraud of 2020, how they knew which ballots to fake up for "mailing" in to be cast. Anyway, the number is 30%+. If they are going to claim a climate emergency, they need 30%+ to comply-- and be willing to force others to comply. 30% to comply, forcing 30% who don't really care to go along, leaving the other third to be attacked. Anyone claiming they fear for their safety because they are a minority or gay/trans know they are lying. They know in fact they can get away with almost anything. And the reason for that is exactly because of the gaslighting about danger. The only reason I'm skeptical that the "climate emergency" will produce a Covid-like response is that it doesn't have the personal implications Covid had.
And while many will pay lip service to sacrifices, it's easier to sit home and conduct work by Zoom call than it is to spend a summer in the stifling heat or winter in the frigid cold. Also, and I’m sorry if I step on any toes, but it was a Republican President, Donald Trump, who was initially pushing Covid lockdowns.
Yes, you are stepping on toes because Trump favored lockdowns for two weeks at a time when no one yet knew how big of a health disaster this would be. I think they did suspect that Covid was possibly a biological weapon designEd to kill. After there was more information to consider, Trump favored opening back up. He had a tightrope to walk -- minimize harm to his countrymen while not spooking the frightened populace by firing the recognized "top expert". Just imagine how it would have gone if Trump tried to explain that Fauci the expert was wrong even though he was. Most of what happens in DC, especially today, is really remote from the realities of people's lives. It's tough to be disobedient when there's brown & blackouts, the food in the freezer is thawing & the refrigerator ceases to keep food from spoilage; when there's neither heating or cooling and the weather isn't cooperative; if there's no emergency backup system to charge cellphones, hear about power emergencies & which way you may need to flee for food, shelter, security; keeping water treatment systems & gasoline pumps functioning, and so much more including keeping medical facilities and equipment operating.
When money from fracking is gone from towns in PA, TX and others and then the underground storage of carbon dioxide creates unimaginable wealth for some and hazards to many. Worse than their windmills. If and when there are enough EVs in use in certain regions to tear up the highways, make current multi-tier public garages (including in condos, etc.) & bridges worthless. Watch where the huge warehouses & transportation centers are being built and developed. More than disobedience, 'communities' with the capability to sustain themselves will be necessary, first in some areas, then spreading. All, mo. Posted by: L - Practice makes perfect. You can’t “save energy”, not electricity. What you can do is reduce consumption or, spread peak demand around. Spending $900 on a clothes dryer to replace an “energy wasting” Kenmore to get a rebate is idiotic, especially since they don’t work worth a shit. They tout that it “Uses only a third as much energy!”. That might be true, except now it t takes 3 hours to dry a load instead of 1 hour. And the piece of shit will only last a few years, and need replacement, because the Blutooth control board horks. If all your local politicians are talking about is how to fine-tune the weather 100 years from now, you can be damn sure they aren’t doing fuck all about what they should be doing. Because eco-communism does not have enough political appeal to be enacted legislatively (except in a few very blue states), and since there is not enough support to pass it nationally in Congress, the declaration of a climate emergency is the avenue that is being pursued. It is a trump card that would suddenly empower climatistas at every level of government to assume dictatorial powers.
++++ I think they'll try it. I also think it will achieve some degree of success. The big stuff dependent on mega-corps will go off without a hitch. Stuff like major appliances, building materials, etc. - things with long industrial chains, high capital requirements and significant interstate or international inputs - will comply and everything will go to hell in terms of quality and availability. But the pernicious requirements and brutal enforcement will also cause existing stress fractures to widen and will likely push parts of the country toward non-compliance. Some regions will break away and ignore the rules, which will result in federal retributions and trigger major crises. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at July 14, 2023 11:57 AM (t0OGg) 243

I am literally at ground zero on this issue, and have been for 15 years or so. I'm not going to go into much more detail because even though I make my positions known both in some very public ways in my industry and privately among other folks I have to be more political in how I do so.
Much of the net-zero push was seen as "aspirational" and not based in reality. A renewable energy electric grid, for example. But, for all of the self interest and profiteering that is going on there does seem to be a real, ideological movement to make the impossible happen. Hello fellow Kulaks. So I say good. Turn up the heat on the frog. Let there be pain. Because, that is required to get the US public to pull their heads out of their collective asses. It will cause damage. Hopefully not disastrous damage, but this impacts virtually every aspect of core human life today including agriculture. But, it has to be. It has to fail spectacularly, in a painful way. We're in the high peaks area of the Adirondacks for the summer and fall seasons. New York state. So there are a lot of New York Times readers and PBS listeners here.
At an outdoor concert Wednesday night, a jazz quartet on the porch of a house with a huge lawn out back, bring your own drinks and folding chairs, a solo woman sat nearby, maybe 15 feet away. Mid 60s, trim, with that white-shoe private club look, short gray hair nicely coiffed. Someone from downstate who regularly "summers" here, and she's greeting those she knows as they come by with their chairs and coolers. If any pause to say more than hi, the Ms puts on a mask. She does this a sentence or two into the chit-chat, so that hi and the first sentence happened mask-free, but she knows nothing other than she will forever bend to the mask covidians, no matter what. And she'll be the first to wear the blue raincoat, or whatever is declared the climate veil. I asked my sister, an NPR listener, what's that about? Why when there is and always has been sickness and death in the air all about us, did we never see masks in, say, 2018? Even when there was smoke in the air from distant fires. What has changed?, I said. Posted by: Mr Gaga at July 14, 2023 12:05 PM (87eeo) 285

Threads Some people will rob their mother for Threads Rats snitch on one another for Threads Sometimes kids get murdered for Threads So before we go any further, I want my Threads Posted by: SMOD at July 14, 2023 12:00 PM (RHGPo) Threads is Google+ 2.0. Meta, like Google, got to claim millions upon millions of sign ups because all those preexisting Instagram users are basically already signed up. It's bullshit. Fuck Facebook. Okay, so they say a Full Flow toilet is "illegal", eh?
Well then, a toilet TANK assembly, with all of the internal mechanisms installed and ready to go, is NOT "a toilet". Why those aren't being sold by the truckload is a puzzlement. Especially given, that most of the bowl/tank interfaces are of a fairly common spacing of water and bolt-hole diameters and placements. Two or three "tank" designs ought to fit about 90+% of all of the bowls out there. I dare 'em. I Double Dawg Dares 'em. Asphalt contains tar, which doesn't do well in excessive heat. Concrete, when exposed to high heat, tents to crack and become extremely brittle.
Take that FWIW. Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Joe Biden at July 14, 2023 12:01 PM (Zz0t1) Concrete "sets" by means of a dehydrated mineral powder absorbing water of crystallization, and growing network of crystals bonds the aggregate together. Apply enough heat to concrete, and you reverse the process. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at July 14, 2023 12:07 PM (sxN2k) 294

I had never understood the rage and the feeling of helplessness and diminution as a person (much less a citizen) that the French must have felt to bring them to Bastille Day. The gruesomeness and unsavoriness of erecting a guillotine for mass eradication of the "leaders" that both tormented and equally ignored its citizenry.

I have the new Lowe water dishwasher. Takes 3 hours to run a normal load. I have a low water washing machine (new house, new appliances). You have to cut your load size in half to get everything clean, a normal size load and some of the clothes are still dry. So you do twice as many loads. It’s great!

Agree with you on the decree as a judgement of where we are.
Trump did it with reservation because EIGHTY FIVE PERCENT OF THE ENTIRE POPULATION WANTED IT, including his 'top advisors'. State governor's had the power to lock their citizens down, not the president. And the governor's did including RdS. I am not absolving Trump but I put myself in his position in mid-March of 2020 and... With hindsight, there is no way he will consider it again. people have really short memories. most of the population (outside of rural America, which tends to be based), was scared to come out of their house, was happy to work from home and went miles out of their way as soon as the jabb was available. A friend of mine, rock-ribbed conservative drove all the way to Lehigh County to get poked because the "vial of death" was not yet available in Delaware County. "We are ready to fight back. Peacefully, but in large numbers. "
How many disclaimers are in the Declaration of Independence? "we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor...unless there is violence " So you're going to protest until the Feds roll out their Antifa/Trans Brownshirt Brigades to intimidate you with violence. After the 6th protestor has his skull caved in with s bike lock, some former Marine will suggest hitting them back where it hurts and you'll assume the Hoyt Pearl Clutch position, shouting Glowie!
