CCP Slogans? Or a Roadmap For A Chinese World?
"No person and no force can stop the march of the Chinese people toward better lives!"
(任何人任何势力都不能阻挡中国&#

smashtheold.jpg

What motivates people to violate dearly held principles of freedom and liberty and free expression of ideas?

Money.

Tesla commits to promoting 'core socialist values' in pledge with Chinese auto companies

Tesla on Thursday reportedly agreed to promote "core socialist values" with over a dozen Chinese car manufacturers.

The Texas-based electric vehicle (EV) and clean energy company run by Elon Musk did so as part of a pledge to the Chinese auto industry, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The four-point pledge reportedly involved agreeing not to engage in "abnormal" pricing, to prioritize quality and not use false publicity. The plege[sic] promises to "take on the heavy responsibility of maintaining steady growth, strengthening confidence and preventing risk," according to the outlet. Musk and his senior managers will also spend three months in a rural reeducation camp.

[I may have added that last line]

This is plain old coercion on the part of the Chinese communists. If you don't publicly commit to our principles (which violate your own) and make it obvious that you are bending the knee, then you will lose access to our markets.

And they have done it to many other corporations...Disney, the NBA, Apple, Nike, and hundreds more. Some merely supply a bowdlerized product to conform to the Chinese censors, but some actively participate in the totalitarianism inherent in China. Apple and Nike use Chinese slaves to make their products!

So as much as we would like to cheer on Elon Musk for his iconoclasm in the face of the authoritarian left being furious that he (sort of) took their biggest weapon -- Twitter -- away from them, he is at heart a businessman who is clearly comfortable with those totalitarian tendencies when it makes financial sense.

Was his purchase of Twitter a good thing? Sure! It has exposed some significant connections between the media and the government, and he certainly has tempered its worst fascistic impulses. But let us wait a few years before we anoint him as the savior of free speech.

11 Obviously, people would do well not to put Musk on too high a pedestal. I do think it is illustrative, that the more one is immersed in the modern world, the more one either advances or compromises whatever principles they may have.

I think that's true of presidents too, to varying degrees. I don't mean the current joke, he's just a puppet, and the people moving his lips have no principles.

I mean even Trump (sorry to bring him up so early). You can't just DO what you think is right, you have to pick your battles (literally), and you either look the other way, or you don't get anything done.

You have to ignore what he's actually been saying for some time to believe that. He didn't just come up with the "Free Speech!" motto when he bought twatter, and he's been saying for some time that he thinks AI is the most dangerous thing our world is facing.

Either he's a complete charlatan, or he really means those things. Now, being a socialist... well, as is well reported, he basically got rich on government largesse.

But if the directors of these companies didn't pursue these opportunities because they refused, on personal ideological and ethical values, wouldn't they be subject to share holder lawsuit?

IOW, If pursuing policies Woke or Heritage were to demonstrably indicate a loss of real or potential revenue, does this merit legal action by the shareholders against the directors?

Heritage values don't play in China. Not playing China means potential losses of billions.

22 I've mentioned this before, but it is a good example of "the past is a foreign country"

Not long after 9/11 an NSA whisteblower came forward and told the story of a data analysis program he had implemented. The program had found Atta was in the US and up to something (though they didn't know what specifically).

He tried to push upper management in Nat Sec to do something but instead they cancelled the program. NOT because of the Atta data, but because the program found that a number of high profile Western pols were being paid off by China and...obviously that's just crazy talk right?

C'mon it's not like Musk is selling out a free West built on the principles of liberty and free expression. Because let's be serious here, that just doesn't fucking exist anymore.

I have pointed this out before - the CCP are a bunch of authoritarian monsters but they don't actually hate the Chinese. Our Western prog rulers on the other hand hate us with a burning passion and are dismantling our civilization. And these are of course the same people that cheered the destruction of South Africa and what is now Zimbabwe, which is obviously not going to be lost on Musk.

A lot of people think he's a loon but he's really serious about getting the fuck off the planet - or at least getting his descendants off. He sees the writing on the wall. I can't say I disagree; I think a post-Western dark age is very nearly unavoidable at this point.

When you agree to do business with the devil, whether you speak his heresy boldly and loudly or do so quietly for personal gain, you are in allegiance.

Apple approves of Chinese labor camps. And I do to when I purchase their products, though I like to give myself a pass for not thinking of it consciously in an effort to assuage my own guilt.

This is the reality of life. Tesla's agreement to formally promote the ChiComs agenda, Disney's removal of homos from the Chinese releases, Apple's tacit approval of slave labor....these things aren't any different than me paying my cable fees to Disney, purchasing cheap Walmart plastic goodies or upgrading my iPhone.

They just do so formally, I do so tacitly.

36 Hypothesis for discussion:

COVID-19 Wuhan was a plan by the Deep State to kneecap China. Using reliable useful idiots, they funded this research and moved the research to China.

Then they relied on poor Chinese lab practices to release the vector in China.

China exported the vector, first to Italy, then world-wide. Chinese retaliation is making tons of fentanyl and having the cartels export it to the US of A.

This is what godless Communists believe in.
Each time the CCP tries to bend nature to its will, it brought disaster to the Chinese people. The worst man-made disaster so far was the failure of Banqiao Dam in 1975 which killed up to 240,000 people, affected an additional 10 million people, & flooded about 30 cities. The Three-Gorge Dam is another time bomb waiting to go off that would bring about unimaginable catastrophe.

In the 50’s Mao challenged nature by launching a mass campaign against four pests: flys, mosquitoes, rats & sparrows. Why sparrows? It was believed that they eat crops.

The entire nation was mobilized to make it impossible for sparrows to stop & rest so that they drop from sky out of exhaustion. Quota was given to each household. Ppl who could not fulfill it ended up buying dead pests in the black market.

The campaign turned out to be disastrous as crops suffered from insects without sparrows.

Imagine being able to time-travel five years in the past and take all of the knowledge you have now to that time and make financial/life decisions based on what you learned.

A day trading firm I consulted for closed their local office and senior management moved to China to open up there.

Thy reckoned that the Chinese financial markets were five years behind the US/Europe and they were just going to look at their own history playbooks and run with the emendations.

That didn't work out well.

Also, has anyone else seen Peter Zeihan talking about the Chinese demographic collapse? I don't always agree with Zeihan's conclusions or predictions, but his research is usually right on point. His info is usually right, he just may not have all the info. Link goes to Youtube:

It's not any different than one of the old robber-barons buying a major newspaper.

Yes.

CHN accumulates enormoua USD via their enormous foreign trade. Those USD don't enter the mainland. The mainland uses diff currency of their own.

Those USDs have to go somewhere other than CHN.

If CHN had a ton of shell companies and those companies had bank accounts in US banks and put trillions into the system as deposits and then strategically moved it out of particular accounts I wonder what might happen to banks?

They've jettisoned what they see as the counter-productive parts of Leninism and Stalinism, and now are more public about moving on past Mao. There is a reason they call it "socialism with Chinese characteristics".

They're trying to merge Western European socialism-lite with an iron-fist-in-velvet-glove authoritarianism. They're not stupid - they don't want to return to the excesses driven by cults of personality and also want to avoid the pre-CCP dynastic chaos. This of course does not excuse the current concentration camps aimed at non-ethnic Chinese.

87 China's Belt and Road initiative runs through some of the poorest countries on the planet. They get the local governments to supply cheap/slave labor for the infrastructure and promise them a cut of some later profits that may, or may not materialize.

Plus the countries get some sort of assurance China will protect them.

A lot of belt and road has as much to do with military expansion as it does national aspirations of global hegemony.

Unbreakable in the near term - but for the last two millennia, China's model has been to have a dynasty with unbreakable control that lasts for a couple of centuries, and then it falls apart and they go into civil war. After about a century of civil war and slaughter, someone pieces together a new dynasty and they have another couple centuries of peace. It's too bad Xi is still relatively young, because there's a fracture point coming when they slug it out to see who will be his successor.

There were surveillance cameras and very unsmiling guards everywhere and I do mean everywhere. If a mouse farted in that large plaza I'm sure they have it on film. They left for Singapore as the walls were closing in, not sure where they ended up. I won't miss never going back to China.

Elon Musk is an admirable man in some aspects, not so much in others. Point is, people are always on the lookout for leaders. This is natural enough given we are, for lack of a better term, tribal animals. A hierarchy is established the instant more than two of us gather in a group. The problem is leaders come with the same assorted baggage and character defects we all carry.

It is ironic that Trump was accused of accepting "emoluments" when not a single journo today even understands what that word means anymore. An Emolument is when a foreign government agrees to pay someone, often a member of the local government, a large recurring some of money, in exchange for their support of that government's interests. Like what is going on here. Under our constitution, it's legal for a private person, illegal for any member of government.

Demographic collapse is accelerating in countries outside of Africa. Social trends are actually easier to predict and have more stickiness than financial or other trends. Simply put, in a society where the average worker's salary is going down plus more educated women exist, the birth rate will continue to decline to below the replacement rate.

The question is whether this projected decline in world population will result in something like the post Black Death depopulation of Europe. Arguably, it broke the stasis of medieval society and widespread serfdom.

Outside, from a legal and criminal justice perspective. Roughly 90 percent of the OD's even during 2016 before Trump were from illegal imported drugs including fentanyl and meth precursors rather than abuse of prescription medication. FedGov focused on the latter because money could be made suing those pharmaceutical companies and it excused FedGov for not sealing the borders. Cartels in Mexico have a long standing relationship with the chemical companies in China due first to chemicals to make Meth and then later used for Fentanyl imports.

Cartels are always looking like a profit company to lessen shipping costs and maximize profits. Fentanyl does the trick.

198 The murder of DEA agent Camarena over a decade ago was accompanied by CIA agents viewing his torture. My best guess is that the CIA justifies getting into bed with cartels and the like in return for information and perhaps even wetworks type activities that the Agency does not want attributed to them.

Humint activities and criminals go together historically as criminals usually have information and resources denied to official agencies.
Posted by: whig at July 09, 2023 01:20 PM (V8NhF)

Yeah, the BEST possible interpretation of CIA being in bed with cartels and corrupt foreign revolutionaries and governments, is that the foreigners are able to get things done they can't... with some sort of American interest being served by whatever they're doing.

Worst interpretation is, the CIA is instrumental, it creates and causes international chaos and destruction, for their own nefarious purposes, that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the interests of the American people.

I think it's closer to the latter.

202 Worth noting, a small percentage of fentanyl users these days started out from misusing prescription opiates. A much much much higher percentage were those who were heroin users for a long time, who found it next to impossible to find heroin on the streets.

Nowadays though, of course many fent users started with fentanyl as their opiate of choice, in part because it's so cheap, and in part because they don't have any prior experience with the other options.

Not a huge issue on involuntary blackmail if a sovereign country's bureaucrats do it. Intel agencies do it routinely as does the FBI etc and usually it involves the legal system, gaslighting or censoring in the media, and portrayal of any defector as crazy etc.

In many cases, the criminal process becomes the punishment (see Gen. Flynn for example).

Both the finance and nat sec factions want turmoil--one to make money off of inside information; the other faction benefits from increased weapons sales and other largesse. 271 My cousin used marijuana in high school. He graduated to cocaine afterwards. He cleaned up enough to join the Army, went awol repeatedly, finally being other than honorable discharged. He married a Mexican woman who never bothered to get citizenship and had two kids. Went back to weed and coke, lost ever job due to intox on job until he finally got a job at a stone quarry where he injured his back after getting polluted on lunch break. After that he gave up cocaine but continued weed and booze as self med pain relievers. He wound up convincing a doctor to give him a serious pain med. I can't remember the name of the drug but even if it is used exactly as directed it can kill someone.
He was 42 years old when he died. The combination of rx, weed, booze, and shitty lifestyle choices ended a very funny man who had a very fucked up life. He would have been 58 this month.

For the most part, while the government popularized this notion, most of those using Fentanyl were already drug addicts using illegal drugs of all sorts--not people being treated with painkillers. Heroin use in the US skyrocketed between 2006 to 2016 and Fentanyl moved right alongside it as a supplement and then basically taking over the market.

273 55: the Left thinks that the greatest human right violation the United States inflicts on people (apart from existing) is having CBP agents demanding to see the passports of everyone passing through a port of entry. Human trafficking of all kinds is no big deal to them. They want open borders, and if that means children suffer under human trafficking rings, so be it.

275 Rock 'n' roll is here to stay
It will never die
It was meant to be that way
Though I don't know why
I don't care what people say
Rock 'n' roll is here to stay

277 I already recognize the punishment of that "huge camp outside of D.C." Even if you are affluent living in the NoVa suburbs, and can afford weekending at Lake Anna or the Northern Neck, you get your punishment on Friday evening in bumper to bumper traffic trying to escape.

278 Peter Zeihan talking about the Chinese demographic collapse? I don't always agree with Zeihan's conclusions or predictions, but his research is usually right on point."

I have been hear that China is on the verge of financial and or demographic implosion for at least twenty years but it never happens.

281 They're trying to merge Western European socialism-lite with an iron-fist-in-velvet-glove authoritarianism. They're not stupid - they don't want to return to the excesses driven by cults of personality and also want to avoid the pre-CCP dynastic chaos. This of course does not excuse the current concentration camps aimed at non-ethnic Chinese.

The Western progs seek to destroy us to replace us with serfs; they Chinese don't have to, their people are already serfs, albeit with a nicer veneer.

I really have to laugh. Xi has gotten rid of any possible political voice that could even suggest he think differently. Xi walked into a trade war with his biggest trading partner, for who trade has never been all that important. In the process - with covid as the cherry on top of a demographic timebomb sundae (it's even worse than Zeihan thought) - China faces a world where the US is now openly hostile - where we are systematically eliminating their access to our markets and even to modern technology. And access to our markets and the US' willingness to keep the trading lanes open built China. All of that is gone. China is toast.

283 I'm making $90 an hour working from home. I never imagined that it was honest to goodness yet my closest companion is earning sixteen thousand US dollars a month by working on the connection, that was truly astounding for me, she prescribed for me to attempt it simply. Everybody must try this job now by just using this website... www.Payathome7.com

284 China has never been accused of facing demographic collapse until recently.

I think Zeihan has the same problem Trump has, he respects the system too much. As to populist, he also says that the next president will be even more populist. He is looking at it on a spectrum becoming ever greater nationalistic and populist. He really doesn't care for any of our last five presidents, the last president he liked was GHWB. He has disdain in particular for the last three for differing reasons, while giving them credit for things he felt they got right. Well, not so much for Obama, I can't remember him saying anything good about him at all as a president.
