ICYMI: Baby rhino loves being skritched. It looks like Claymation.

Would you like to fondle a marmot?

Are you our mommy?

A duet.

Big hairy hog.

Steppin' up on a crocodile.

Fox kit infestation.

Sea dragons.

Marmots subsist chiefly on a diet of bath towels.

These sheep are officially too cute.

Important tip for nurse ratched.

Cliff collapsing like the Biden "presidency" -- slowly at first, then all at once.

Landshark.

The first dog in history to be #cancelled?

Chimp is super-happy to reconnect with old friends.

Saving a drowned, unbreathing fawn.

Used to drive from Alexandria (near beltway) to Tampa. It's about 7-8 hours to Ga-Fl line, 4-5 more hours to Tampa. All of that depended on traffic and construction. I95 can be a parking lot sometimes. Once I got to FL, I'd just jump on Rt301 and take that to Tampa. I'm going from fading memory so I may be mistaken about Rt301.

We beat near everybody because we all loved the magic of baseball. We had an acronym #FGW3
(fucking guys, we want to win!). Proctor kicked our asses... ONCE.

Now? I'd love to find an amusement batting cage and some wood bats to give it a go again. Yaz may have had more of an impact on me than the Russell or Bird eras were basketballish.

Sometimes it works the other way around, too, sadly. We went to Chattanooga recently and there are these nice middle class homes near downtown that were probably built in the 70s that we began to notice had bars on the windows, then drive a little farther and the same types of homes were abandoned, then drive a bit farther and they were probably not abandoned but not being lived in by people who had any connection to the home.

It would suck so badly to work your entire life to buy your nice home and provide for your family and then watch as your neighborhood became a slum.

100 Carbon fiber is used in motorsports (hoods and whatnot) to make the horses tow a lighter load. Did equity engineering make this 'well it works for this so why not this?' assertion?

I haven't even started to get to some nitty details on keeping old blacky running good 98 ram, 318, 5spd, 3" factory 2to1 exhaust, 3.21 gear but it is running so nice I don't even want to fuck with near 100K on wires, plugs, cap and rotor.

Sometimes, there's no better choice than going through the motions.

That is a definite restful and restorative experience for me. It has been too long since I did it last.

Today was a severe "out of sorts" day for me until about 3:00 PM. Then I started raking steps to clear things from my "to do" list. I scheduled a visit from an estimator for replacing our failing and two decades old A/C on Monday morning. We scratched offering items for sale in tomorrow's yard sale (a huge time sink). I got our waste hauling service squared away and then picked up items to get our fuel oil tank de-rusted and repainted before we leave Monday. I'm very much in a "don't bother me, I've got things to do" frame of mind these past few days.

While I absolutely understand the well deserved cynicism on our side nobody has ever been able to explain why the left is going to such incredible lengths to try and destroy Trump if all they half to do is run a bag of dog shit because the election is completely rigged. They don't even try. Because they can't.

Yes, they will cheat but there is a limit what they can do with cheating.

Trump beat Hillary. He only "lost" to the pants shitting dirtbag in the WH because of a pandemic that allowed mass mail in voting and not because of normal voting conditions. If they pull something like that again then no, Trump won't win. But if they don't he absolutely has a shot. Hell, he's beating Biden in the polls already.

Half measures rarely work.

Posted by: runner at July 07, 2023 09:55 PM (V13WU)

263 If they pull something like that again then no, Trump won't win. But if they don't he absolutely has a shot. Hell, he's beating Biden in the polls already.

Posted by: JackStraw at July 07, 2023 09:50 PM (ZLI7S)

I absolutely love your optimism, and I will buy you a very large beer to go with our oysters the next time I see you.

But...

264 Yes, they will cheat but there is a limit what they can do with cheating.

I don't know any more. I have watched too many elections turn into "count until Democrats win and then stop counting." I've said before that I'm voting in hopes of a miracle (and Trump/Desantis is the only combo that offers that). It's a shame that election day can't be election day, though. Election month and then election month after election day is part of the problem. No standing and obstruction until January is the other. Murder, rape, etc.? Lifetime to discover and discuss. Presidential election for the leader of the free world? Ya got two months. If you can get away with it it's yours.

I beg to differ. I would have suggested mortars and two .30 caliber MGs providing crossfire.

But you Alaskans are soft.

266 Okay, ketchup on hotdogs haters, what about butter grilled ham&cheese or just cheese sammiches. Drenched in buttery near charcoal grilling? Huh?

DelMonte had a thing called 'catsup'. It was the fresh horseradish atop the steak along with a pat of butter of grilled cheese done proper. One could argue for tomato soup, though.

Toss in an egg dunk and we're on to MonteChristo land.

And on hotdogs, or course *bronx cheer for San Franpsycho*

268 We don’t have voting day anymore. Now it’s voting season. And they count until they get the right result. Then they stop counting

Fetterman? Warnock? Hobbs? Biden? Please

Well, when you put it like that. You could have opted for napalm from a phantom, so I guess some lead shot to the gut is a better option.

Both.

271 Heck, we watched the (R)s hand the most winnable election I've ever seen in 2022 over to the (D)s without even trying. The didn't even campaign, and then the (R) leadership literally backed the opposition.

274 >>I absolutely love your optimism, and I will buy you a very large beer to go with our oysters the next time I see you.

>>But...

It's not optimism. It's reality.

Do you really believe Trump, DeSantis and all the rest are running despite knowing they are absolutely going to lose? If so you must believe they are more dishonest than the left. I don't think they believe that.

Does the CIA control Twitter this election? Nope. Is there a pandemic requiring nationwide mass mail in voting? Not yet. Have unregulated drop boxes been removed along with Zuckerbucks from a number of states? Yep. Does Joe now have a record he has to run on? Yep. This is not 2020.

And most importantly the entire country outside the beltway now understands what's going on.

Where are you geographically? Persimmons and figs -- I adore them. In Italy I ate what I think is the Jap variety, as large as a softball or even bigger; soft but leathery skin. Last time I had one, and fresh figs, was 1973 in Rome, just after Boxing Day.
