Why not simply reduce the price of the p!ss? Why a rebate? Companies know that xx percent of buyers will be too lazy or too stupid to apply for a rebate. So Bud Light execs know they will not be awarding a $15 discount on every Bud Light sale. Then there's this fine print. "The rebate applies to purchases of up to $15 that are made between June 15 and July 8 and will be offered via a prepaid digital card. Customers can redeem rebates on the Bud Light website. They’ve been preparing for this and have already implemented ways around the decision. For one elite schools have announced they will no longer use SATs or LSATs or MCATs. Instead they will use a “holistic approach”. In other words they won’t straight up pick the black applicant because he’s black, they’ll pick the black applicant because he has a more “holistic” application.

When the accounting firm Arthur Anderson failed to follow the law and tried to cover up their transgressions they were shut down, put out of business, even the good employees that had nothing to do with the Enron scandal. Why is DOJ, IRS, FBI, or the Dept of Education deserving of better treatment.

This is like the assholes in the Fossil Fuels Will Kill Everyone charade. They look at one side of the ledger and tell tales of woe and despair, never looking at the side of the ledger with the myriad of benefits. • MADD should be ecstatic about the number of reduced beer drinking - think of all of the lives not killed in drunk driving accidents. Think of the wives and kids not beaten into a coma from drunk men. OK, maybe people just switched to a different brand. • Think of the new employment opportunities for all other brewers, distributors, sales weasels all up and down the supply chain. • Think of the dramatic increase in people drinking actually palatable beer instead of that Butt Lite dreck. • Knowing that this putz will never have such an opportunity to screw up another brand Posted by: Reuben Hick at June 29, 2023 07:27 PM (p8A+W) 198

What she means is "Elections should only be politicized to benefit the left"
When you no longer respect those you work for, it is time to leave. I have watched as you idly stood by when I was attacked,” Roll wrote in the email obtained by AZCentral. “I cannot work for an individual who does not support me. The environment fostered by your team and the Board of Supervisors is toxic.” Roll emphasized her belief that the Elections Department “should not be politicized.” She further accused the county manager and the Board of Supervisors of prioritizing “irrational, extremist political party views and rhetoric” over “impartiality, common sense, and dedicated work.” “It is a far reach to see how you will deliver clean elections when you bend to a faction of the Republican party,” Roll wrote in the email. “Clearly, politics are the value this administration desires in a place where politics have no place: elections administration.” Posted by: Cat Ass Trophy at June 29, 2023 07:41 PM (3KF2i) 264

>And as a matter of fact, an undergrad accounting student, upon a good review of Enron's books would have seen the BS. But somehow the highly paid Big 5 professionals, CPAs (!) did not.
A work colleague and I visited Enron about a year before they imploded. We were in the telecom space and Enron was going to invent the bandwidth trading industry. They spent an assload of money and dedicated an entire floor in one of their towers to building offices and a trading floor with all the latest computer toys for trading. We sat through a presentation by a couple of their "experts" and after we left we were standing outside the building and he looked at me and said "Do you have any fudking idea what they were talking about?". I did not. Neither did they. The whole place was a Ponzi scheme of Ponzi schemes and it was pretty obvious to anyone who was willing to say the king had no clothes. Pediatric brain surgeons like Ben Carson ain’t really black. And RFK jr. ain’t a Democrat. And so it goes.
I think Janet “Butch” Reno is among the first examples of this “I take full responsibility” nonsense wasn’t it? After the incineration of all those folks down in Texas. This statement was at the press conference. So a reporterette was like “Oh, so you are resigning!?”; in those days it was still understood. When der Slickmeister first got busted all the press was resigned (heh) to the fact Clinton was toast. “He’ll have to step down”. And then like a light switch, the talking points went out. Blow jobs aren’t really sex. Besides, who cares? It’s none of our business. Character doesn’t matter . And so it goes. Posted by: Common Tater at June 29, 2023 07:49 PM (NLW03) 292

psychopaths. Or sociopaths. I'm not sure the difference /i]
I think the generally accepted distinction is pyschopaths are born without empathy, sociopaths are environmentally transformed to have no empathy. Psychos try to mimic Normals in order to fit in, sociopaths have no such desire to fit in. A lot of CEOs need to have a level of psychopathy in order to make those hard decisions that often hurt lots of people. Donald Trump has a non-clinical level of psychopathy. I can understand that the CEO of TB could be former CIA (where hurting people is a business function) and also run TB. When he claimed to assume responsibility, that was the psychopathy kicking, he is attempting to mimic Normals, he has no built-in sense of responsibility or shame, and thus he continues to blame others for failure. That CEO earns $12 million per year. Okay - 65,000 people at AB affected by your stupid decision...cut them all a check for $200 with a handwritten apology letter explaining how you fucked up and plan never to do that again. That would show you taking responsibility asshole. Otherwise, STFU. Posted by: Comrade Roboto at June 29, 2023 08:05 PM (nJ1bF) 304
By the way, taking "responsibility" means apologizing. That means writing, in detail, what the fuck you did wrong, and how you'll never make that mistake again.
Let me start "I was greedily hoping to curry favor with the trans community in order to expand our sales and improve our ESG scores. In doing so I okayed a plan that insulted and demeaned our existing consumers. For that I am very sorry, and I promise never to do that again. I've ditched our entire DEI department, top to bottom, and fired our ad agency. I've donated my entirely annual salary to the people economically harmed by my stupid, rash decision. I hope you will accept this sincere and heartfelt apology and explanation for my actions. Posted by: Comrade Roboto at June 29, 2023 08:09 PM (nJ1bF) 305
Taking responsibility on the Left today means, unspoken, of course, "It worked-out as I planned. So why should I apologize or quit my cushy no-work job?"
