Tranheuser-Busch CEO Says We Should Blame Him for the Dylan Mulvaney Fiasco, Not His Poor Employees or Distributors -- But No, Now That You Ask, He's Not Resigning

Brendan Whitworth wants Bud Light boycotters to blame him for the fateful Dylan Mulvaney promotion and not punish the 65,000 people whose livelihoods depend on Anheuser-Busch.
Speaking to CBS on Wednesday, the former U.S. Marine and CIA spy turned CEO of America's largest beer brewer said the buck stopped with him when it came to the disastrous promotion with transgender influencer Mulvaney.
"One thing that I'd love to make extremely clear is that impact is my responsibility. As the CEO, everything we do I'm accountable for," he said in the interview, which he reposted to LinkedIn, but not before disabling comments on the post.

Asked what troubled him the most, he said it was his 18,000 workers and the additional 47,000 people employed by its distributors. That number doesn't count the farmers he said were also affected by the boycott.

While Anheuser-Busch has sought to minimize the role Mulvaney played in its strategy, Whitworth reaffirmed the company would not change its stance towards its partnerships.
"Bud Light has supported LGBTQ since 1998, so that's 25 years, and as we've said from the beginning we'll continue to support the communities and organizations that we've supported for decades," he said.

We'll continue to support the Anti-Groomer Agenda we've been supporting all of our lives.

He may have sought to shield his staff from the fallout of the promotion, but he did not explicitly apologize for partnering with Mulvaney either. A number of consumers had claimed this official acknowledgment of a mistake was a prerequisite for winning back their business.

But they are going to blitz the airwaves with advertisements.

Transheuer continues to try to woo people back with huge rebates -- they're deathly afraid that stores will start limiting the shelfspace they give to Budweiser groomerjuice products.

They're offering $15 off for a 15-pack of their crap beer for the Fourth of July.

As the Fourth of July weekend rolls in, Bud Light is offering a rebate of up to $15 on purchases of a 15-pack of Budweiser, Bud Light, Budweiser Select or Budweiser Select 55. And in places where a 15-packs sells for less than $15, the beer could be practically free.

No thank you.

Why not simply reduce the price of the p!ss? Why a rebate? Companies know that xx percent of buyers will be too lazy or too stupid to apply for a rebate. So Bud Light execs know they will not be awarding a $15 discount on every Bud Light sale.

Then there's this fine print. "The rebate applies to purchases of up to $15 that are made between June 15 and July 8 and will be offered via a prepaid digital card. Customers can redeem rebates on the Bud Light website. Rules vary by state."

So, no losses from rebates for A-B InBev. Shysters all the way.

A work colleague and I visited Enron about a year before they imploded. We were in the telecom space and Enron was going to invent the bandwidth trading industry.

They spent an assload of money and dedicated an entire floor in one of their towers to building offices and a trading floor with all the latest computer toys for trading. We sat through a presentation by a couple of their "experts" and after we left we were standing outside the building and he looked at me and said "Do you have any fudking idea what they were talking about?". I did not. Neither did they.

The whole place was a Ponzi scheme of Ponzi schemes and it was pretty obvious to anyone who was willing to say the king had no clothes.

I also found out that after working for this company that no I'm not on the company anniversary bonus plan which I was told I was when I started I'm on the UPS plan I get a whole whopping $80 the first year I work here and it tops out at 200 after 5 years. Please don't get me started on UPS because there are an absolutely horrible company I hope they go out of business.

I think the generally accepted distinction is pyschopaths are born without empathy, sociopaths are environmentally transformed to have no empathy. Psychos try to mimic Normals in order to fit in, sociopaths have no such desire to fit in.

A lot of CEOs need to have a level of psychopathy in order to make those hard decisions that often hurt lots of people. Donald Trump has a non-clinical level of psychopathy. I can understand that the CEO of TB could be former CIA (where hurting people is a business function) and also run TB. When he claimed to assume responsibility, that was the psychopathy kicking, he is attempting to mimic Normals, he has no built-in sense of responsibility or shame, and thus he continues to blame others for failure.
