Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The 51 Ex-Spies Who Participated in the Disinformation Campaign Against America Refuse to Comment on Hunter and Joe Biden's Evident Corruption"Deep State of Denial," Chuck Ross titles this article. The former spies and Biden campaign aides who smeared Hunter Biden's laptop as Russian "disinformation" have remained silent following revelations that the FBI authenticated the computer nearly a year before it was released. The veracity of an Oct. 19, 2020, letter claiming the content from Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation has all but crumbled in the wake of testimony from IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley, raising questions about the judgment and motives of the letter's signatories. Notably, none of the organizers of the letter have defended their claim or commented on Shapley's testimony. The group includes former CIA deputy director Michael Morell, former CIA chief of staff Nick Shapiro, and White House spokesman Andrew Bates. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who spoke with Morell prior to the letter, has also not weighed in. ... Morell and Shapiro have yet to weigh in on Shapley's claims. They did not respond to requests for comment. Bates, who served as the Biden campaign's rapid response director, did not respond to requests for comment. The State Department did not respond to a request for comment about Blinken's views of Shapley's testimony. Morell organized the letter after a conversation with Blinken on Oct. 17, 2020, about a New York Post story that detailed some emails from Hunter Biden's laptop. Morell said Blinken sent him a USA Today article that said the FBI was investigating whether the release of Hunter Biden's emails was part of a Russian disinformation operation. The article, based on anonymous sources, did not reveal that the FBI had authenticated the laptop nearly a year before. ... According to emails released by the House Judiciary Committee, Shapiro corresponded with Andrew Bates, the Biden aide, about efforts to publish the letter at the Washington Post, Associated Press, and Politico. "Here is what I gave them," Shapiro informed Bates in an Oct. 19, 2020, email about his correspondence with the news outlets. Politico ultimately published the letter under the headline, "Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say." He circulated the letter among a tight-knit group of former CIA and intelligence community officers asking them to sign the document. Fifty others did, including former CIA Directors John Brennan and Michael Hayden. Jeremy Bash, an MSNBC pundit who serves on Biden's Intelligence Advisory Board, also signed the letter. How much more do you need to be proven demonstrably false to at least say, as an average apolitical person, anything they bleat should be taken with a significant dose of healthy skepticism? Therein lies much of the problem.

Willowed:
Scott Kirby of United Airlines is an insufferable leftist prick, no doubt. 90% of CEOs are. But I’m not sure why we are blaming him for all the incompetence at United. Why are we taking the word of the lazy, destructive United unions? A pox on all their houses. The main problem with airlines, even putting aside their near-monopoly status in the hub system, is that they are so heavily regulated and burdened with silly, expensive red tape – imposed upon them by government and unions -- that they might as well be government agencies staffed with uncaring, incompetent union drones. So is it any wonder that airlines and air travel suck dirty balls? Posted by: Elric Blade at July 03, 2023 12:20 PM (iFTx/) 82

Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at July 03, 2023 12:19 PM (PHmov) ++++ It's totally different. Under classical totalitarianism, the press is directly controlled by the state or the party, and there is prior restraint as a part of the system. Under our system of total subversion, none of that is needed. There doesn't need to be some big formal control mechanism, because the press will just do the "right thing" all on its own because the people in charge of the press *want* to. This probably goes without saying for any airline, but make sure you keep records of all purchases. KLM tried to dick me out of a refund on a ticket I specifically bought because it was refundable. I was pretty sure the trip had a 50% chance at least of being cancelled, so I paid a little extra for a refundable fare. Fortunately I had screenshots. Posted by: jim (in Kalifornia) at July 03, 2023 12:40 PM (ynpvh) ++++ It's better than nothing. "Duck and Cover" makes sense, especially for atomic bombs. If the bomb hits you, or right next to you, then no - nothing will save you. You'll also have no time to react anyway. But as we learned at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a lot of people who died died because of flying debris and a lot of them were exposed to that debris because they went to look at what that big flash was. "Duck and Cover" is supposed to break people of that curiosity. If you see a flash out of the corner of your eye or feel a rumble, do *not* go to the window and try to figure out what the hell is happening. Dive for cover, hope to keep chunks of debris off you, wait for the shaking to stop, then get up if you're able and run the hell away as far as you can. The Asian commies (ChiComs, Norks, Viets, Cambodians etc) on the other hand... They don't bother to press their uniforms, and most of them aren't just ill-fitting, they're about 3 sizes too large, making them look like they are starving. Posted by: Archimedes at July 03, 2023 01:02 PM (eOEVl) And if the Russians are wary of sabotage, because they watched somebody blow up Nordstream and they know it wasn't themselves, what are they to do ? Let in a third party, the UN, that they don't trust ? Keep troops close-by, to convince you that they're honest even though they'll die ? The answer is ... it doesn't matter. Nothing the Russians do on this will satisfy you. Because the Russians can't be trusted. You said it yourself. Posted by: Still The Same at July 03, 2023 01:05 PM (JNPFB) 384
Sen. Biden had classified documents. Since he could only read them in a secure facility that means SOMEONE gave them to him.

They'd do it to get NATO into the war, because they are losing.
Of course. Odd that the front line keeps moving in Russia's direction though, and that only one side has had a full scale mutiny. Eh, it's probably nothing. Posted by: Archimedes at July 03, 2023 01:06 PM (eOEVl) 386

Some of those truck drivers are crazy sons-of-bitches. I was driving with my family, coming back from my Dad's funeral and they were zipping by at 80 going downhill in the mountains of New Mexico at night with curves everywhere. I almost got hit more than once.

Which is more believable?
A. An obliquely stated opinion about the nature of a source of information that avoids the issue of factual truth to focus on superficial appearance, and is issued by a large number of authority figures who have not directly examined the evidence. B. An unequivocal opinion stated by a recognized expert who has examined the evidence. The latter is inherently more trustworthy, but the media advances arguments expressed like the former to attempt to convince us. Why? Why not simply use another expert? One of the main reasons was urgency. Even if another expert was readily available, there had to be at least an appearance of a reasonable length of examination, and the time available before the election was limited. Another reason is the suggestibility of the public. The public had just experienced a protracted series of Russia-centered scandals, and might fairly be described as receptive to another one. Finally, the simple optics that impress simple minds: a bunch of officially important people saying something scary in writing... how could it not be true?!
