"Acerbic" was a good word for my late Arizona, whom I've always suspected had some Maine Coon in him. Certainly he looked a *lot* like one. That was part of how he got his name: He was large, sandy, and prickly like a cactus.

My mother was western Canadian, and so I speak more like William Shatner or Michael J. Fox than I do like "Southern" or Noo Awlins dialect. In grammar school, to fit in, I learned to speak the local dialect (it is, or was, a lot like the classic "Brooklynese" from 1940s movies). That was among my peers. To adults, I spoke like a Canadian, I guess.

I could be completely wrong but IIRC when we had our scuba tanks filled it was at 3,000 PSI. 80 cubic feet at 3,000 psi gave me about 30-35 minutes at 60 feet which was at 1.76 atm or 25.93 psi. Of course the deeper you dove the greater the pressure. There was a formula that I have forgotten that calculates that stuff. We used to have a little plastic dive table card we could look at when we would scuba dive but we usually didn't carry it as we spent most of our dive time at 20 feet or shallower. You did not need to worry about that stuff at those depths.

Someone may have answered already, but for easy access to Koreatown, Downtown LA or Hollywood are "easiest". I can't recommend anywhere in Hollywood. Even the coolest hotels open onto some rough streets.

If you can swing it, stay at the JW Marriot at LA Live (downtown) and Uber to where you want to go in KTown. Any AirBnB in the new high rises by Live would also be relatively safe. It's a busy area.

difference between psi gage (psig) and psi absolute (psia) ... not really comparing the same thing, exactly. a typical pressure gauge will read zero at 1 atmosphere pressure.
1 atmosphere is 14.7 psia, basketball is 9 psig, or 23.7 psia

When I visited LA in 2014, I drove on Sunday down to SM, parked, and walked around a bit. Beautiful area it was. No idea if it's declined. I also drove up the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu or a little beyond, past the entry to Pepperdine University, etc., then turned around. I wanted to stop for lunch on my way back -- but the traffic, even on Sunday, refused to let me make a left against the flow.

On the other hand, I got to see *two* Mercedes-Benz 300SL roadsters, the model they made from about 1958 to 1963. One black, one red, and not sitting in a parking lot but being *driven,* the way those cars were intended to be used. Considering how much those cars demand on the collector market, I wonder if some A-list star was behind the wheel of each.

Dryness. I'll bet that was part of the reason Denver -- well, CO Springs too -- was Ground Zero for the MB owners' club. Yeah, snow, but the stuff didn't stay on the ground long because the sun would come out and steam it away. Malibu is a nice drive, as long as you're starting in Malibu, or Santa Monica. One thing a lot of visitors don't grasp immediately is the sheer size of the LA area. And the traffic. It's like the European perception of traveling in America.

Wagner leader apparently asked citizens to join him in removing the secretary and reportedly moved wagner in that direction. Moscow has apparently raised alarms and issued an arrest warrant for him for leading a mutiny, which he apparently has since denied on social media.

It looks like personal bullshit and not a move against Putin.

Typically, such mechanisms evolve as experience is gained. The Ver 1.0 *may* have worked, but there are always tweaks and improvements. BTW, did you notice that at least one bulb blew its filament (bulb envelope is cloudy), and was removed from the conveyor? Any place where there is an empty cup, the filament failed.

It was 88 here but no thunderstorms! We swam a lot today, all the rain brought the pool back down to 83 degrees. Just went for a good walk and despite having to ward off the mosquitos with hexes and swords, it was only kind of hot and sticky instead of molasses like.

Because it's 9 psi greater than the air around it. Most practical pressure measurements are relative to the surrounding air. Absolute pressure is a harder thing to measure.

There is only one push-operated reel mower to buy, and that is the Clemson E-16 Junior. Very light, but also very stiff, which is crucial to keeping the blades properly adjusted. They haven't made them for 60 years or so, but used ones show up on auction sites from time to time. No shit, they really are the best of their type:
