Silly Moron coffee drinkers. You've been doing it wrong. Or so says sicence.

THE trusty mug of coffee you sip as you work through the day may be harming your dental health, scientists have revealed.
But fear not - there are ways to still enjoy your morning brew while keeping your pearly whites healthy.

Before we get into the Prayer Revival of this thread, just remember a couple of rules.........

1) It's an open thread feel free to opine and/or bloviate away.
2) Be nice, the banhammer is in the shop getting shined up.
3) Please don't run with sharp objects unless you have a valid health insurance card.
4) Have a nice weekend or don't those choices are up to you.

AoSHQ Weekly Prayer List
Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo atsign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.
Prayer Requests:
5/27 – Jewells shared her happy news that the CT scan showed significant shrinkage of the cancerous nodules. Only 3 out of the “too many to count” had grown slightly. There were no new lesions on her bones.
5/27 – Prime Sister sent many, many thanks for the Hordling prayers and to God. Her son in Singapore, who had not been in touch with anyone for 7 months, has contacted a family member.
6/3 – Puddleglum in Pennsyltucky asked for prayers for his friend’s wife, who was diagnosed with breast cancer.
6/8 – Sharkman posted about a girl who could use prayers. She is 7 years old, and just had her third open heart surgery and a pacemaker put in, because she was born with her heart reversed in her chest. Additional surgeries will be coming in her future.
6/8 – FenelonSpoke asked for prayers as she considers running for a spot on their local township committee. She is a complete neophyte in running for office, so she said she needs all the prayer support she can get!
6/10 – Jewells asked for prayers to continue for her niece, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer, plus they found 3 cancerous nodes in her lungs. Jewells herself is still going through radiation and it’s “kicking her butt”. Then she will have more chemo.
6/17 Update - Jewells’ niece had her port put in last Thursday and began chemo and radiation on Tuesday. Jewells said how scared her niece is.
6/10 - Farmer Bob posted to the comments. He sends his thanks to the Horde for their prayers and says he’s still working to become the fit, fun, romantic and playful husband worth having that Mrs. Bob deserves. He has lost a lot of weight and still has more to go. So far she has agreed to a weekly “couple talk time” which will consist of prayer, a devotional reading, and light/positive conversation. Continued prayers for him and his wife are appreciated.
6/10 – Joe Kidd asked for prayers for his brother Mike, who needs prayers for healing of his stomach cancer that he has battled for years, and also a sizeable blood clot in his leg. The cancer was retreating until recently, but a new PET scan showed disappointing results. He was really hoping to be done with chemo. At age 65, he’s not sure how much fight he has left in him.
6/20 – J requested a prayer for her younger son Matt, whose seizure symptoms are returning again after 20 years of normalcy. So far he has not had a full-blown seizure, and the doctors are working to adjust his medication. But he can feel them in the background and they are interfering with his ability to do his job. Also, his second child is due in September.

13 My niece is not handling the chemo well. She has been very sick since last Tuesday and I'm so worried about her. Thanks for continuing to pray for her. I was sick most of last week. Combination of radiation and chemo really did a number on me. I finally feel almost human today.

Kind of a rush, and kept me awake while I had guard duty. Not something I intend to do again.

I would think charcoal grill. As much as I love pellet grills (which I just pulled the brisket off from just a few minutes ago) searing seems to be best left to the dedicated equipment.

Yeah, most pellet grills will only go up to 500* of indirect heat, hence the need for sear plates.

The one I use now (and the one before) gets up to 600*, which is enough to sear properly without a sear grate, even though it comes with one. On the new, the flame is semi-direct. Makes a nice steak even without a reverse sear. Light smoky flavor.
I prefer a med rare, but depending on what you like you could get a good rare with or without a reverse sear.

But, yeah, cranking it up to 600* makes it a bit of a pellet gobbler. Same same though with a gas grill if you want to cook at high heat.

My brother swears by his Masterbuilt Gravity Grill, if you'd like the flavor of charcoal grilling with the convenience of a pellet grill. BONUS! it's relatively inexpensive.

72 Anyhow, I know I've been a big booster of the Lord of Spirits podcast, but over the last few months the quality and content have taken a slide - not unlike Miami Vice's third season.

While I do recommend the first two years of the show as a great introduction to the spirit world and how to reach scripture, I'm having to give up on it.

I've got a post on my blog (link in nic), but the short version is I think they've run out of material and it's now an infomercial for the Orthodox Church, which necessarily requires them to explain why Catholics are wrong, wrong, wrong.

73 Good morning friends. Mrs.Bob and I had our first couple talk time ( virtual ) on Wednesday. I feel like it went very well. We prayed together, read our devotional ( we both teared up a little ) then had a very pleasant conversation for nearly an hour. She seemed to enjoy my company, and I certainly did hers. Please keep praying for us. On the fitness front, down to 290 as of today- 65 lbs lost.

Wagner is just one of many RUS Mercenary units operating in UKR.

They are RUS MoD supplied and staffed.

Their reason for deployment seems to be to maintain the legal status of the SMO and also provide flexibility of tactics and ROE.

Their recruitment and training is also different than RUS mil. Convicts and more "on the job" training.

Their tasks are also more casualty intense: Urban assault. Though their losses are hugely exaggerated by NATO and Prighozin.

I recently picked up a Mosin 1891/30 which I think was in Spain. It is marked 1938 production, but the last shipment for Spain wasn't sent until February 1938, so it could have been included.

As part of my research, I bough Shih Bin's book on Chinese weapons during the 2nd Sino-Japanese War and then emailed him.

And he replied! Very cool when authors do that.

While Chinese origin isn't technically impossible, it's really unlikely, and since Spain and China were the only countries getting 1891/30s before the 1940 modification, Spain is more likely.

To me, the only thing that seemed out of place was when Harris hanged the kid. I am betting it is because they had NOT shied away from showing how bad the soviets were and they needed to balance out the nazis as being 'just as bad'. Fair enough, I guess, but it seemed contra to the character they had been trying to build all movie.

Supply and demand. It's that simple. We had a similar experience - a small repair job that I thought might run a couple hundred bucks ran over a grand. I can't do textured plaster and its in the front hall, so my wife wants to be really nice. So we pay the guy.

We also have to keep in mind inflation is blowing out all previous monetary scales. Two years ago, I could feed the family on a road trip by stopping in for fast food and dropping $30. Now that feeds two people.

It felt natural to me. In the final scene, Harris figures the kid is putting him on, and his body language and demeanor indicate that the kid is on thin ice. The kid gets this, and goes ahead.

And that sort of thing did happen, partly to be an example to Russian collaborators who lie, and also to let the Russians know they are onto them.

It's not a particularly cheerful movie, which is appropriate for the Eastern Front.

Every time I walk by the beer section and see that the Coors and Modelo shelves are bare but there are piles of Bud Light and A-B, I smile.

I really think they have to just drop the brand. It will never recover, not after the shelf space is reduced.

I've been down this road before over the 15 years I've owned this house.

There are certain things I will overpay for, a guy spackling some holes and painting some trim is not one of them.

I had an entire electrical panel upgraded, added a generator inlet, backfeed breaker install, new mast, pretty much new everything installed from the utility pole back, a f**kton of work. All that work cost me less than 4 grand from a certified EC that the electrical commented that this was the best work he's ever seen.

The book is great, well-researched and it deals with the whole campaign. The sniper duel is two pages long and therefore less dramatic. Tanya did get blown up, but Vassily never reconnected with her and it was only during research for the book that he learned she survived the war (and vice-versa).

The book is a nonfiction history book about the entire battle. The movie is based on two or three paragraphs in a 500 page book. That being said, yes, it's good.

Thinner oil might help, but maybe a new battery is in order. When it comes to oil, "cool" is not really cold until sub-freezing temperatures are reached.

There was a time when I was pulling 150 an hour. I never saw most of it but at that time I was pulling in 100 grand a month for the company.
That being said there is around 300 hours of training behind me and results were not just expected they were demanded. I was working on high dollar mining equipment and they were loosing more than they were paying with their stuff down.

Most modern oils are multi-viscosity. You will see "10W-30", which is an oil with "winter" viscosity of a 10-weight oil, and summer of 30. The lower the number, the thinner the oil appears to be.

Which oil to use? Depends upon the tractor. Gas? Diesel? Air-cooled? Water-cooled?

Clean the ground wire connection piont at the frame. Check the battery wires for resistance with a multimeter. If any, replace. Clean the terminals. "Thinner" oil is a bad idea. Follow the manufacturers recomended grade for your temp ranges.

Air cooled 12 horsepower tractor. Starts well at 80 degrees and above. A bugger to start at 60 to 75 degrees. Pretty much cool spring and early summer. I guess a new battery is in order, but I also should change the oil soon. Thought maybe I'd get another year out of the battery.

I've bought some clunker tractor batteries over the years. Like they sat unsold in some warehouse for years.
