Biden: "We Have Plans to Build a Railroad From the Pacific All The Way Across the Indian Ocean"

And then he says he's "getting off-script, I'm gonna get into trouble."

Ed Driscoll flashes back to 2011, when Obama -- the smartest man to ever live -- boasted of the US building "The Intercontinental Railroad."

So what is Biden talking about?

A friend tells me we're missing the real story. He says Biden is there vowing... to help China complete its "Belt and Road Initiative," its bid to secure a big chunk of the world's resources by building highways and railroads through Asia and Africa.

Here are his fuller remarks:

"China has their Belt and Road Initiative. It turned out to be their debt and destruction initiative. No, I'm serious. Not a joke. Well, we're going to win, and we're going to help.

We have plans to build a railroad from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean. We have plans to build in -- in Angola one of the largest solar plants in the world. I can go on, but I'm not. I'm going off-script. I'm going to get in trouble. (Laughter.)"

"We're going to help" -- we're going to build the road network to feed China with mineral resources, because they've bankrupted themselves doing so. So we're going to help and build that for them.

By the way, here is where this deluded, demented old man is getting the idea that "we have plans to build a railroad all the way from the Pacific across the Indian Ocean." He's thinking about the Belt and Road Initiative's trade links:

One-belt-one-road.svg.jpg
By Lommes, from Wikipedia

You see the blue route to China, extending across the Indian Ocean to Africa?

That's what Biden was thinking of.

Except that's not a "railroad," because, get this, you can't build a railroad on the ocean.

It's a Maritime Link. It represents shipping lanes.

But Biden thinks we're gonna build a railway across one of the world's great oceans, because he misunderstood a map someone showed him, and because he's a demented old man obsessed with Choo-Choos and ice cream.

He might be confusing the blue line across the Indian Ocean with the plan to one day build a cross-Africa railroad.

Okay here it is. Rail Consortium: The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is currently performing due diligence for a potential financing package of $250 million to finance the Lobito Atlantic Railway Corridor – an open access rail line from Lobito Port in Angola to the DRC border. This deal would be the DFC’s first investment in rail on the continent. This project is the first step to connect and develop trading and economic activity from Angola to the DRC, that can help promote greater investments in agriculture, digital infrastructure, and expanded access to electricity.

Across Africa. Not across an ocean.

And why would Biden bail China out of the project that they've run out of money to complete?

Is it because one of Hunter Biden's CCP buddies paid him and his filthy corrupt family a few million dollars?

"So I looked at him and said I'm leaving here in 6 hours and if the prosecutor isn't fired you aren't getting the billion dollars.

He said you can't do that, you aren't the president.

I said call him.

Well son of a bitch, he got fired." -- Joe Biden, bragging about getting a prosecutor investigating Burisma fired, after a Burisma executive gave him and Hunter $5 million each

17 Belt and road. On every road there will be highway men. China is finding this out the hard way as we speak.

Yet, it is a way to control the movement of goods to places where you want them to go, and keep the goods from going elsewhere. If you can police it.

China thinks it can do both.

Went to the local indoor range today here in McHenry county, way out in NW Chicagoland. Last time I was there was last year late October and early November. They sell guns in a nice store between the two ranges, one 25, the other 50 yards.

Illinois banned all semiautomatic rifles with detachable mags! The walls used to have all kinds of ARs and other semiautos. Bare walls now.

Was told the new law even outlawed Ruger 10-22s and other maker's semiauto 22s.

WTF? I though NY and CA were bad. And the new regs say you gotta register your "grandfathered" guns with the sheriff.

Register your fucking 10-22? WTF?

I know that across most of IL the sheriffs all said they would not comply, but still, what a fucking mess.

I'm worried about how much Gaia is going to be raped to extract the iron ore and the coal required to smelt it into rails.

Then the railbeds, how many thousands of square miles of forests will need to be destroyed for the ties? If not, then concrete ties and the materials for that? OR are they going to consider plastics and synthetic wood ties? That is going to require huge amounts of fossil fuels.

Then there is the issue of ballast, and all the electronics to maintain and manage the system. Looking at the route, how does this train avoid the security problems we see with freight rail as LA is seeing?

Then the types of cargo, are we going to be OK with another Palestine OH? And what happens when rail cars break somewhere along the Pacific, people going to hump trucks and axles? What gauge will they use? How does the insurance of goods and the tribute to countries it passes through work out?

Remember, ships are the cheapest, cleanest most efficient transport of goods.

92 Except that's not a "railroad," because, get this, you can't build a railroad on the ocean.

That's stupid, Jack.

That's what the white supremists and ultra-MAGAs say, they want you scared jack. They said we couldn't land a man on Mars, but I was there when Kennedy proved them wrong. They said you couldn't put a front-hole on a man and call him Sally, but I was there with President Orama and when Big Mike got a beautiful ax wound, jack.

Now they say we can't build an all electric solar wind train across the ocean. We let me tell you jack, if there is one thing the American know-how and cheap Chinese labor can do, it's build a railroad.

So when the Ultra-MAGAs tell me I can't I say watch me. *whispers* Watch me, jack.

265 The thing to remember about batteries is they are chemical and electrical devices. As the temp goes down the chemical reactions slow. If it gets too high new exciting reactions start happening. And electrical devices are very good at generating high temps in a short amount of time

275 "It turned out to be their debt and destruction initiative. No, I'm serious. Not a joke. Well, we're going to win, and we're going to help."

I hate to contradict Ace here but looks to me here like Joe is implying we are going to be helping the countries being subject to China debt and destruction, not helping China itself. Of course, it would help (no pun meant) if Biden actually added WHO we were going to help to the end of that sentence. Because I do concede he COULD have been trying to say that it's China's 'debt and destruction' initiative BY ACCIDENT and that we were going to help China AVOID that. I do concede. But the other possibility must be allowed for too.

Nope, no way. The whole point of China's debt-and-destruction plan is to trap those countries into surrendering those ports to China. Between helping China and helping poor African and Asian countries with nothing to offer, who wins?

283 I do think it would be possible to build a railroad across the ocean. I do not recommend trying, as the cost would be astronomical, and it would serve no legitimate purpose. We have large container boats that traverse the oceans without much difficulty. We have airliners that can travel from one continent to another. So there is no legitimate purpose for an ocean-traversing rail line.

But I do think such a thing would be possible. A very difficult engineering problem, but possible.
