Badab Soort, Iran

Badab Soort, or Badab-e Surt, from Wikipedia:

Badab Soort is a natural site in Mazandaran Province in northern Iran, 95 kilometres (59 mi) south-east of the city of Sari, and 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) east of Orost village. It comprises a range of stepped travertine terrace formations that have been created over thousands of years as flowing water from two mineral hot springs cooled and deposited carbonate minerals on the mountainside.[1]
Etymology
Badab is a Persian compound of Bad "gas" + ab "water", translating to "gassed water", referring to the springs' waters being carbonated mineral waters. Soort is an old name for the Orost village and a Persian word meaning intensity.

The iron carbonate coming up through the springs adds a red color.

NEW - Sri Lanka doctors remove ‘world’s largest kidney stone’

||Sri Lankan military doctors have removed what is now recorded as the world’s largest kidney stone from a 62-year-old retired soldier, the army said Wednesday.

The stone removed from ex-sergeant Canistus Coonge weighed 801 grams (28.25 ounces), more than five times the weight of an average male kidney, the army said.

Coonge’s kidney stone measured 13.37 centimetres (5.26 inches) long, compared to an average kidney which is about 10 to 12 centimetres long.

“The removal of the world’s largest and heaviest kidney stone through a major surgery occurred on June 1 at the Colombo Army Hospital,” the military said in a statement.||

There's a guy who walks his Great Dane at the same park I take Elvis. The dog weighs about 130 pounds and comes up to my waist. His head is the size of watermelon. He's also a huge cuddle bug.

Once he gets to know you he comes running and leans on you and begs you to pet him. Takes a lot of effort just to keep him from pushing you over.

Our number 2 son was notified by 23 and me that he had 2 first cousins that I didn't know about.

Turns out my oldest sister gave 2 children up for adoption in the 60s. She and her husband had been hunting for them with no luck. A great find by 23 and me.

Just a local Fairfax County public course. It's a difficult golf course.

A kidney stone I had was and shaped like an equilateral triangle and was .6 cm on each side. It hurt but it did pass. A more annoying side issue was having the side effect of throwing up everything eaten or drunk for the day or so while stones moved from the kidney to the bladder.

2 cups store-bought mustard
1 cup mayonnaise (Dukes is a Southern favorite but I think Hellmans flavor ages better in lots of recipes)
1/4+ cup ketchup (so don't be shy on the 1/4 cup)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Kitchen Bouquet (find it in the spice aisle)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional, but try it)

Combine everything in a pan, mix well, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for ten minutes, stirring occasionally. Use on chicken or pork.
