Cafe Disappointment

capedisappointment.jpg
Lighthouse at Cape Disappointment, Washington
by Todd Ostrem photography

A line of dolphins drive a school of fish into the shallows to trap them.

Nice wolf.

Sound on so you can get yelled at by a deer.

Baby sees her mother's twin sister for the first time and is confuzulated.

Behind the scenes at an automat. And also some other vending machines of the past. I think someone should try opening an automat again.

A dog got rough with a kitten and the mama cat went HAM.

Dog herds schoolchildren to make sure they cross the street safely, and chases after a car that fails to yield like it's a wolf.

He's a fan of speed.

People try to hold down a pavilion roof as a storm threatens to carry it away. Winner: The Storm.

The Storm vs. People Trying to Hang on to their Balloons. Winner: The Storm, flawless victory.

Triple A racoon.

Sick move.

Amazing zoom-out at the end.

How women dressed themselves in 1896. Worth it!

When you're escaping from an avalanche, it's probably not the best time to go for style points.

Samurai soup-service.

Monkey bandit.

This kid's ceiling-climbing skill is incredible.

Lost lamb is reunited with its mama:

18 There's a sailboat race that goes from Victoria, BC out ot Cape Disappointment and back. Swiftsure. Incredible race. It can take 18 hours to three days to complete, depending on the wind. It's out in the shipping lanes, so at night, in the fog, it can be pretty spooky.

Super fun, though and very competitive.

33 Anyone who doesn't come forward voluntarily and is discovered to have illegally and unconstitutionally helped the deep state, will be tried for treason / sedition and summarily executed.

Note that this would only apply after confession and would not prevent their crimes from being made known, which would result in their removal from office, but would avoid prison &/or death.

This is the only way we completely dismantle the deep state once and for all.

Too focused on defense policy, though. No doubt - that's a huge part of the conflict. But it's much more than that. Trump also engendered their wrath regarding immigration and trade and corruption.

I'd wager the Party and State were much more angry about "Build The Wall" and "Make America Great Again" and "Drain The Swamp" than they were about Trump's relatively understated (though very real) peacenik tendencies.

But most of all, they were angry about the defiance from the subject classes his election represented. That was always the real focus of their blind rage. Us. Not him. Or his individual policies.

There is turning back from America's rapid descent into totalitarianism now. The police state apparatus is in full control. This indictment, come what may, was calculated to assure either Trump or whoever wins the GOP nomination cannot win the general. I'm certain it was wargamed and had GOPe approval from Mitch and the boys.

The GOP losses will be catastrophic, and if necessary the special sauce will be applied in Philly, Milwaukee, and Phoenix again.

Hillary should have been executed. Now we are here.

That would be brutal.

I had a 1 hr 45 min commute EACH WAY from Walnut Creek to Eldorado Hills in CA ... for 6 months. Had to quit after that.

As a software engineer, would usually work 12 hours/day and would just say "Fuck It" (not worth the drive home & back) and sleep under my desk. Only saving grace was that the facility had showers, so I could clean up the mornings after -- but would be wearing the same clothes.

Between Davis and Sacramento, the CHP would line up 6 - 12 cars and they'd use planes to identify and pull over speeders. I got 3 speeding tickets in 6 months, and -- as Thomas Bender alluded to above -- TAPPED OUT.

Yep, but I don't get tied up in the minutiae on this one.

There was prosecutorial discretion whether it rose to the level of a crime or not. A sitting president decided to use his DOJ to prosecute his most likely opponent.

That's the formal end, the burning of 244 years of precedent. It almost is fitting that George Washington turned down presidency for life and some little, stupid, cancerous punk(s) like fucking "Joe Biden" threw it all away. Everything already had gone to shit as evinced by the attempted security state coup but today was the marker. Mort.

Axshually, it doesn't.

While I agree with your point about burning the the precedent which will haunt us for a long time, maybe forever, and is the reason I don't want us to be as corrupt as the left, this was not about political discretion. Because there was no crime.

I've been saying this since the day they raided Mar A Lago, Trump had 100% right to take whatever he wanted after his presidency because of the Presidential Records Act. They are relying on people not knowing the law and thinking this is about prosecutorial discretion, that Trump's situation is like Biden's or Hillary's but it's not because neither were president and the PRA only applies to the president.

The only similar case in recent times was Bubba Clinton and he got to keep his tapes because of the PRA because he was president.

And I have no problem whatsoever going to the depths of the Left, to the degree that even is possible without winding up dead or in prison, because everything we understood about tradition, law, rules and decorum was burned to the ground today.
