What Is a Woman? Gets Over 170 Million Views

It should be noted that most of these views came after Elon Musk retweeted it and declared that it was a must-watch for any parent.

His rogue employees' determination to censor the video and make it impossible to find were undone when a guy with 100 million followers tweeted the link himself.

His company is clearly still pushing censorship, but he's trying to push back.

More than 170 million people watched at least some of the documentary.

One year after its original release, The Daily Wire's "What Is A Woman?" documentary soared to new heights prompted by a Twitter premiere that featured a dramatic triumph over social media censorship.
The tweet of the 90-minute film, which features Daily Wire host Matt Walsh asking tough questions underlying the gender ideology movement, has amassed more than 170 million views since being posted by The Daily Wire's Twitter account Thursday -- the first day of Pride Month -- making it one of the most successful documentaries of all time.
For comparison, an estimated 19.3 million viewers watched the final episode of HBO's "Game of Thrones" when it premiered in 2019, President Joe Biden's most recent State of the Union drew 27.3 million people.
Such a milestone initially seemed impossible.
When "What Is A Woman?" was posted for Twitter users to view for free on Thursday, Twitter labeled the documentary as "hateful conduct" and restricted its visibility because of two instances of supposed "misgendering." In response to a viral thread by Daily Wire co-CEO Jeremy Boreing about the ordeal, Twitter owner Elon Musk insisted the penalties were a mistake by "many people" at Twitter. Still, users were restrained in their ability to retweet, "like," or even comment on the post throughout the night.
Backlash to the censorship was fierce, led by small accounts and prominent figures alike who questioned whether "Twitter 2.0" under Musk was truly the free speech platform they were promised. Outrage grew until the restrictions were lifted by early Friday morning when Musk himself promoted the film by retweeting the post.
"Every parent should watch this," Musk said in the tweet, which he subsequently pinned to the top of his page.

I think autism itself has become wildly over-blown with an impossibly high number of kids suddenly being diagnosed as autistic. Where were all these kids decades ago?

Some kids are truly autistic. I'm not denying that. But the vast majority are just mostly normal kids who might be odd or "off" in some way. That doesn't make them autistic.

I hate the graphical stream format for DVD and Blu-Ray subtitles. This is when the subtitles are a stream of pictures rather than actual plain text. There are benefits to this approach (control of placement, character set, etc.) but the downside is that the subtitles can't be rendered by your TV set or set-top box (which are high-contrast and easy to read) and upscaling low-res subtitles looks *awful* for DVDs that use the format. I hate it that discs with this format usually don't have both the graphics streams *and* plaintext subtitles. It means you have to shove the whole thing through OCR to get text-based titles that can be redered by the TV set. There's no reason not to include both.

There's nothing preventing Trump from running even if he is convicted and the appeal fails. The Constitution lays out the requirements for President and it is silent on the issue of criminal convictions.

I'm fairly convinced it's a combination of a lot of factors. One is we recognized Autism as a thing. My maternal grandfather was a PhD, Uni Professor, Full Bird Colonel, and Autistic as hell. People put up with his "quirks" because he was whip smart and he found a position that allowed his rank and his abilities to override any social friction he caused.

Women and men are having kids when they're older and less healthy. I'm only in my mid-forties, but even I've noticed men and women walking around today are far less healthy than people were when I was a kid. I'm sure this situation doesn't help kids.

Also, most women and men are on a ton of medications they weren't on a few decades ago. I'm certain these have negative effects on developing babies.

Once upon a time you couldn't get an autism diagnosis unless the kid was nonverbal and had to wear a hockey helmet because they'd bang their head against the wall repeatedly for hours. That wasn't very helpful for more marginal cases or kids who were higher functioning but still really needed therapy. Now it's gone too far in the other direction where every Tom Dick and Jane is on "the spectrum."

Not all autistic children are savants. In fact, few are. My daughter has what used to be call Asperger’s. She struggles with sensory issues, as well as socially, there is emotion regulation issues, and it affects her learning to include dyslexia. She is very black and white, gets very few jokes. She manages it far better now at 12 than the horrible breakdowns before but she won’t ever be “normal”.

This is wildly overstated. I assure you, my daughter has more going on than an aversion to mashed potatoes. She is also a human and more than “useful at certain tasks”. She isn’t going to law school, but she will be able to get a job and function with minor accommodations. She is just going to appear a little off to most people. She will be able to live on her own as an adult. But make no mistake, she has autism. I don’t have time to go into the 80999 examples I could to make it more clear, but while there are people who are faking it for who knows what reason, there are, in fact, people who have autism and it is a spectrum.

I totally agree with this sentiment. If even just 1% (1.7m) of the 170m views were individuals who watched more than 50% of the entire "What is a Woman?" documentary, then that'd be a huge accomplishment. Same goes for Tucker's numbers where 10% watching more than half of a ten minute video would be huge.

Actually, he founded a couple investment firms, one in real estate and another to invest in small mostly midwestern businesses that he turned over to his son to run for governor.

He's pretty smart but I don't know much about his politics.

Long story short, assuming modern ratings and digital cable boxes, then they don't count your household as twenty unique viewers if you channel surf past the same show for a few seconds twenty different times. Or if you start the same on-demand / DVR'd movie twenty times, but give up each time after the opening credits.

There's more precision to how long you watch, and they do basic demographic profiling of who's watching. It's similar to political polling and survey organizations.
