Target Extends Losing Streak; JPMorgan Downgrades Stock
"Stakeholder Capitalism" Is Just Corporate Communism

JPMorgan downgraded its outlook on Target's stock from a "neutral" rating to "overweight." Prior to the retailer coming out last week as satanic child groomers, JPMorgan had Target listed at a price target of $182. "While still positive on a [three-year] basis, [Target] has been giving back share on a [one-year] view and we believe this share loss could accelerate into back to school and linger into holiday given consumer pressures and recent company controversies. This could turn [Target's] traffic negative after an impressive run of 12 consecutive positive quarters." "Target is facing consumer pressures and the effects of recent controversies," JP Morgan said.
But remember, Blackrock, Vanguard, and Obama's other corporate socialist suckbuddies have engineered an economy based on "stakeholder capitalism" -- not shareholder capitalism, but "stakeholder" capitalism, in which everyone -- from the workers to the gays who have nothing at all to do with the company -- is of a higher priority than the actual owners of the company. "Stakeholder capitalism" -- true name, corporate communism -- claims that everyone has a "stake" in a company. Everyone. A "stake" is an intangible, non-monetary interest. Every person in the LGBTQ Mafia has a "stake" in Target whether or not they shop there, and whether or not they own stock. Their "stake" is a general stake in whether or not corporations act as "allies" and provide "visibility" -- mainstreaming -- to their groomer causes. So Blackrock, Vanguard, and Obama's cadre of well-heeled radicals have invented a theory of fiduciary duty in which there is little to no duty owed to those with an actual financial stake in the company, and a major duty owed to those who don't have a stake in the company. And you can't sue them for mismanagement or misappropriation of shareholder value because this theory says, "You don't have a special privilege just because you own Target stock. Target owes a more important duty to Trans Five Year Olds, who must be 'validated' and made to feel 'seen' by us stocking baby-sized 'Ask Me About My Pronouns' onesies. We have to weigh our (limited) duty to shareholders against our much more important duty to 'stakeholder.'" Don't like that Target is destroying your value, Target shareholders? They now consider customers and shareholders to be disfavored groups of very low priority. This isn't a mistake -- it's the entire intent of Stakeholder Socialism. Skip to 17:13 to hear about "stakeholder capitalism." In the last bit of the video, Blackrock founder Larry Fine talks about his philosophy of "forcing" people into leftwing social change. He says "force" about six times in two minutes. He's proud to use his economic clout to force people to be leftists.

I’ve basically become an economic hippie over the last few years. It’s a rigged game. Frankly I’m halfway to Bernie Bro territory wanting to stick it to billionaires (which 99% seem to be pretty evil). I also think foundations and NGOs should have shelf life of 10 years then they have to liquidate assets and monetary amount strict limits on educational foundations ($100 million or so).
I also think that no one should be allowed to donate to campaigns they cannot vote in.

Combine this number with the fact that Target has chosen to emphasize groceries and consumables (very low margins) over clothes and furnishings (much higher margins) over the last few years, and it guarantees that every Target in an blue state urban area is already running at a significant loss. They have much less financial buffer than most people think. Bankruptcy wouldn't kill them, they'd re-organize, but it would be a glorious feather in our cap to force it. My wife was once a Target fanatic, she loved going there just for the looks, and how clean and bright it was (as opposed to Walmart, which even at the best of times is pretty much a jumbled mess) But she's quit going because she says over the last 5 or 6 years it's as though they quit trying, the merch lost the appeal it had and the store quit doing the things that she and the early aficionados loved so much. (I think this coincided with their move into groceries and consumables) And during Covid, the shelves got empty, the stores got dirty, and they've never gotten back the "feel" they once had.

If I were a shareholder, I'd fucking fie this CEO tomorrow, along with the entire board. But the biggest shareholders - vanguard and BlackRock, are in favor of this.
So, easy, every red state needs to put these institutions on notice that they'll be getting zero funds going forward if they practice stakeholder capitalism. Just pass a law that all money must be invested only with companies that practice shareholder capitalism. Oh, and make sure union members know that their retirement is based on the ROI, and this bullshit has a terrible ROI.

If you look at demographics, the all-important “under 30” crowd retailers want, LARGE percentages of these little snowflakes either identify on the alphabet spectrum, or think of themselves as “allies.” Of the younger crowd that doesn’t, the rest mostly just don’t care. So its all win, no lose. Meanwhile, the conservative right (historically at least) won’t engage in majorly boycotts like this for long. Women do most of the Target shopping, and your typical red-state suburban Chick-Fil-A wine mom can’t stay away from target tooo long.
So they think this will blow over. If not, you close a few stores, lose 20% market share, and go right on being woke AND solvent.
The wrinkle is that their stores are getting hardcore looted in blue areas populated and run by exactly the sort of trash progressives claim to care about. So if you get a really motivated conservative base that walks away, AND you’re having to close stores… then the boycott could really hurt target.
