Founder of the Oath Keepers, Stuart Rhodes, Who Committed No Violence on January 6 and Did Not Even Enter the Capitol, Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison By Corrupt Evil Regime

Another fake "seditious conspiracy" conviction.

We must pass a law giving both defendants and prosecutors the right to change venues in politically-charged cases where the local... inhabitants and Regime Enforcers of the judiciary are strongly biased to one side or another. In fact, it's an absolute scandal that this law doesn't already exist.

Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the far-right Oath Keepers, was sentenced Thursday to 18 years in prison for his involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol -- the longest sentence handed down to date and the first for a charge of seditious conspiracy.

"You, sir, present an ongoing threat and a peril to this country, to the republic and to the very fabric of our democracy," said U.S. District Court Judge Amit Mehta, characterizing Rhodes as a uniquely powerful driver of the threat to democracy that day. "You are smart, you are compelling, and you are charismatic. Frankly, that is what makes you dangerous."

Let me translate: You are an articulate spokesman for a political cause that threatens The Regime, so you must be put in the gulag.

Is this America?

I'm loyal to America, but I'm sure the hell not loyal to whatever this sh1thole we're living in is called.

Rhodes, 58, is the first of 14 Jan. 6 defendants, including nine Oath Keepers, to face sentencing after being convicted of -- or pleading guilty to -- seditious conspiracy. Enrique Tarrio, who was the national chairman of the far-right Proud Boys on Jan. 6, was convicted of the charge earlier this month.

Prosecutors say Rhodes masterminded a weekslong effort to derail the transfer of power from Donald Trump to Joe Biden, marshaling dozens of allies across the country to descend on Washington on Jan. 6. Rhodes and his allies spent weeks pressing Trump to forcibly prevent Congress from certifying the election -- and girded for violence even if Trump refused. Rhodes also encouraged Oath Keepers to assemble an arsenal of weapons just outside of Washington that could be deployed to the city if necessary.

Antifa literally does this every other month.

But they're "just a myth," right?

Ultimately dozens of members of the Oath Keepers surged with the pro-Trump mob into the Capitol, while Rhodes rallied them from outside the building.

Dozens of people trespassing!

Can you imagine something like that? Politically-motivated people trespassing in political buildings?!

This is literally the go-to tactic of every leftwing group in America when a state legislature is attempting to pass a law they oppose.

It was a brazen attack that threatened the most important and vulnerable part of American democracy, prosecutors said, urging Mehta to issue a sentence of at least 25 years.

Mehta largely agreed with prosecutors' characterization of Rhodes' role as a leader of the Jan. 6 attack and agreed to classify his crimes as an act of terrorism against the government, a categorization that sharply increased his ultimate sentence.

"What we cannot have -- we absolutely cannot have -- is a group of citizens who because they didn't like the outcome [of the 2020 election] were then prepared to take up arms in order to foment a revolution," Mehta said. "That's what you did.

That's literally what antifa did after the 2016 election -- and then they violently attacked people leaving the Republican National Convention in 2020, decking Rand Paul in the face, for example.

No "seditious conspiracy" there. No "terrorism" there.

It used to be said that the State had the monopoly on the legitimate use of violence.

Now it's the State and their protected, promoted Street Militias in antifa and BLM.

And if anyone watches the State encouraging those violent paramilitaries and coddling them, and thinks, "Say, that's how you advance your cause in America now" and tries to emulate them, the State quickly reminds you that only some paramilitaries have the right to throw molotov cocktails at cop cars and burn down courthouses.

@Oilfield_Rando

We can do National Divorce or we can have a capital city that plucks dissidents out from anywhere in the country and throws them in prison for 20 years for crimes manufactured by the intel community.

It's that simple.

Compare and Contrast:

Michigan man gets community service for shooting anti-abortion campaigner

A western Michigan man who pleaded no contest to shooting an 84-year-old woman campaigning against abortion rights at his home was sentenced to community service Tuesday.

Richard Harvey, 75, was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service. Judge Suzanne Hoseth Kreeger also gave him a suspended jail sentence of two months and a delayed sentence of one year on probation.

Harvey pleaded no contest last month to felonious assault, careless discharge of a firearm causing injury and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Kreeger also must pay $347.19 in restitution and cannot have any contact with the woman he shot, 84-year-old Joan Jacobson.

Jacobson was shot Sept. 20 at Harvey's home in Odessa Township, a community about 130 miles (210 kilometers) northwest of Detroit. Jacobson told investigators that she was asking a woman at the home to vote against a proposed constitutional amendment that would guarantee the right to abortion in the state when she was told to leave. The amendment later passed.

Harvey has said the shooting was accidental, but Jacobson has maintained she believes it was intentional after she had argued with Harvey's wife, Sharon Harvey.

18 years for rallying people to halt the certification of an election you sincerely believe was fraudulent, but leftwingers are allowed to shoot pro-life activists and face no jail time at all.

This is how the double-standard works. Do actual harm, get undercharged, plea out and walk if you're on the right side. Do no actual harm, get railroaded, have the book thrown at you, and go to jail for a generation if you're on the wrong side.

Tyranny, baby.

Yes it is. Well, the place is called that and all of the symbols reflect that and everything.

Spiritually, though, no. That country doesn't exist anymore. It isn't in the process of shifting, it isn't "being lost" and we're not at an inflection point. It's gone. In the past. Is no more. What we have is a totalitarian tyranny that operates arbitrarily according to no standards whatsoever. It's more like the East Germany of 1985 than it is like the United States of 1985. Pick any of the 20th or 21st century tyrannies out of a hat and we have more in common with it than we do with our own country as little as 25 years ago.

Has DeSantis ever done that? Does everyone here realize how critical that is? We need to hasten the partition of this country. If you still live in a place where you're in peril of being thrown into a prison for defending yourself against the left, either with words or actions, leave now. Move somewhere where your liberty has a fighting chance.

It's true that there are more of us than there are of them, but even an army that outnumbers the enemy can be cut to pieces if they're scattered about the battlefield. It's time to regroup.

71 Notice how these "worst threats ever to the safety of our country" don't rally or fight to get their leaders released. If these groups were such huge terror threats the government wouldn't be flaunting these bogus cases, they'd be doing things low key to not rile up the supposed giant threat to the country.

All these groups were just guys who would sit in someone's basement and complain about government, and the criminals in the DoJ and white house are acting like they were the founding fathers plotting revolution.

Trump or DeSantis needs to play the same game come 2025, any protestor lighting a fire, breaking a window, trying to get on the white house grounds, all need to be charged with dozens of crimes, held for years without trial, put in front of a partisan far right judge, and face a jury of right wing hillbillies that will choose life in prison for them.

73 >>>I'm a dumb dumb but is there any way SCOTUS can step in and go "this is a level of faggotry in DC judges we didn't think possible so we're stopping these ridiculous sentences."

Well, you can appeal a sentence (and a conviction). But appeals are usually based on erroneous application of law, not erroneous finding of *facts.* This jury and this judge are claiming it's a *fact* that he committed "terrorism," and appeals courts only disturb those findings when the lower court *clearly* erred.

That said, when a judge starts making it clear in sentencing that he's sentencing the person for political ideas he disagrees with, it's a problem.

But almost every judge has made it clear they're sentencing these people based on their political speech, not their crimes, and no one's gotten a sentence appealed yet.

One month after Donald Trump's surprising election victory, many cities are still aflame with rioters promising further destruction if Trump is inaugurated.

Republican leaders have seized on the violence, calling out their democrat counterparts for not speaking out against the widespread rioting.

So far, no arrests have been made.

And they won't. I think this is part of the point of it. The judges and prosecutors are making it very, very clear what's going and how this works. If you do *anything* in opposition to the state, you have no rights and can expect no standards to be followed or applied, the law is irrelevant and you *will* be destroyed in the process.

They're sending a message, and making sure it's clear enough for everyone to thoroughly understand it.

DeSantis doesn't gall people the way Trump does and people gravitate towards someone they think they can beat Trump -- so that's a knock on DeSantis?!?!!? What I want to know is why every damn time the local cops in deep red parts of America go along 100% when the DC gangster regime sends its thugs in to pluck out non-leftist dissidents and take them to gangster-controlled areas?

We should just call the bluff of these commies. Give them Washington State and Oregon, and let them create their own country. We can wall it off and allow them to thrive or fail on their own.

They always say "communism was never done right" so we'll give them that chance.

We'll let anyone who wants to move there do so, but they must renounce their US citizenship. We'll even help transport anyone who wants to move their, along with their belongings. Similarly we'll have a train line from El Paso right to their new country to transport all the people from south America who want freedom in this new land of Unwashedistan.

If people want out before the states become a new country we can work on finding them a new place too.

Overall i think the money spent would far outweigh what is lost from keeping them here.

U.S. District Court Judge Amit Mehta was born in India.

I'm not sure. I have to think this one over. But, right now, I tend to feel that those who interpret Our Laws need to be natural born citizens who are also raised here. Otherwise, we may get some wacky rulings like this one totally out of the natural flow and understanding of American law.

We require the Prez to be a natural born citizen, i see no reason why that same minimum requirement shouldn't be applied to judges as well.

210 185 Did you guys see the other case out of SCOTUS today? The one where a MN county seized a 94 year old's property to pay off a $15,000 debt. Only thing was, they sold the property for $40,000 and kept the $25,000.

They had to go all the way to SCOTUS to be told, "No, fuckers. You can't keep $25,000 that isn't yours just because you want to."

Posted by: bonhomme at May 25, 2023 05:06 PM (R38qh)

Yup. Other than signing a Deed in Lieu, if a property is sold in foreclosure (at least in Kali), the lienholder only gets back at most the value of the lien and expenses, after the government gets their monies for any back taxes and fees; the rest goes to the previous owner.

Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted -- and you create a nation of law-breakers -- and then you cash in on guilt. 279 Did you guys see the other case out of SCOTUS today? The one where a MN county seized a 94 year old's property to pay off a $15,000 debt. Only thing was, they sold the property for $40,000 and kept the $25,000.

They had to go all the way to SCOTUS to be told, "No, fuckers. You can't keep $25,000 that isn't yours just because you want to."

_______________

There was a case a few years ago where cops stole valuable coins worth a lot, like a quarter million, during an otherwise valid search. The subject of the search sued them individually but the court held that the cops had qualified immunity since there was no clearly established law saying cops can't steal while carrying out a search.

I think that got upheld on appeal by the Ninth (surprise) Circuit.

People can do what they think best, but reading today how 'Judicial Watch' went after about 800,000 peeps on the PA voter rolls that they had a suspicion were bogus... and didn't quite score that number but got acceptance of about 200,000 in three PA counties...and were rewarded costs of about $15,000... Ace, I missed your post about Graham. I'm sure Trump's not going to decline his endorsement, but I see a bigger problem in DeSantis himself saying he aspires to be a leader like Ryan. Disappointing, because I do appreciate what he did in FL.

I'm not casting Trump's unpopularity, but rather his inexplicable ability to cause RINO's to lose their shit and reveal who they are. Nikki Haley did it out of nowhere. W Bush compared his supporters to terrorists. All after Trump accumulated the most votes of any incumbent in history. No one else can achieve both those goals together, especially not DeSantis.

I see people are growing exhausted of the topic, so I won't hammer it much more today. Thanks for debating the point, we'll revisit when next appropriate.

An opposition party that won't bother to oppose is a more or less controlled opposition and thus has no reason for being.
