AoSHQ Weekly Prayer List

Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo atsign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.

Prayer Requests:

5/2 – Sponge asked for prayers. His father fell over the weekend and hurt himself badly. He has 6 broken ribs, a partially collapsed lung, and a fractured right arm. Some of the ribs splintered, so they will do surgery to insert a plate to stabilize them. His dad wasn’t in the greatest health anyway, so this will take a toll.
5/12 Update – Sponge reports that his dad is still a bit confused, but he was conscious and talking this past week. He still experiences some significant pain, but other than that, he appears to be on the road to a recovery of sorts.

5/2 – DaveT asks for prayers. He was trying to save his cats and his home, and then had an unfortunate court ruling, related to a family member who burdened the home with some debt. DaveT is over 65 and not able to work as much as he would like, and the cats have special needs, too (blind and older). He has a GiveSendGo set up, so please email Annie’s Stew for more information about how to contribute, if you would like to donate.
5/28 – DaveT sends thanks for the prayers and the financial support.

5/3 – Jewells asked for prayers for her niece, who had a biopsy done and they are pretty sure she has cervical cancer. She asked for prayers, please, for her sweet niece.

5/5 – gp asked for prayers for Ivan, who is in the hospital with heart problems. He is a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Thank you!

5/11 – FenelonSpoke again thanks everyone for the prayers and cards and donations to their church. They are blessed by your concern. The latest update is that the township Open Space intends to go ahead with the purchase of the land. However, the township committee still has to approve the purchase, so please continue to keep them in prayer. Thanks and God bless you all!

5/13 – Farmer Bob requested prayers for healing and peace. His wife’s mother died from Alzheimer’s disease last Sunday. They were caring for her in their home, but he was out of town on business. When he called his wife (of 34 years and 5 children) to comfort her, she let him know that she no longer loves him and would prefer he never return. He finds himself homeless and alone for the first time in 34 years.
5/20 Update – Farmer Bob did post an update to the comments, thanking the Horde for their prayers and explaining some more of the situation. He says he will try to send updates as he can. Continued prayers for him and his wife are appreciated.

5/16 – Tonypete lost a friend this week, Ron. Prayers of comfort for Ron’s family and friends would be helpful.

5/22 – NaughtyPine’s mother passed away. We prayed for her mother when she went into hospice in April.

5/27 – Jewells shared her happy news that the CT scan showed significant shrinkage of the cancerous nodules. Only 3 out of the “too many to count” had grown slightly. There were no new lesions on her bones.

5/27 – Prime Sister sent many, many thanks for the Hordling prayers and to God. Her son in Singapore, who had not been in touch with anyone for 7 months, has contacted a family member.

5/28 – Commissar of Plenty and Lysenko stuff asked for prayers. He has been plagued by claustrophobic night terrors and anxiety. He would walk it off, but there are some scary people outside around his home, sometimes, that time of night.

For submission guidelines and other relevant info, please contact Annie's Stew, who is managing the prayer list. You can contact her at apaslo at-sign hotmail dot com. If you see a prayer request posted in a thread comment, feel free to copy and paste it and e-mail it to Annie's Stew. She tries to keep up with the requests in the threads, but she's not here all of the time, so she may not see it unless you e-mail it to her. Please note: Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks or so unless we receive an update.

Romans 8:26-27
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

22 Ah, the prayer thread.

Prayers of thanksgiving and deliverance today as my youngest daughter graduated high school on time. The pandemic lockdown almost broke her, and she had to enter a credit recovery program, but she did it and walked with the rest of her class at Commencement last night.

This all frees us from the clutches of a dying and dysfunctional school district which - alas - was one of the best in the state when I was a student.

So it's a twofer! God be praised!

gKids have "baseball" games this morning -- T-ball and the like. Unlike soccer at their ages (5 and 7) where there is a crowd running around after the soccer ball on the field, in these "baseball" games they sit on the ground and play in the dirt.

Sometimes I think parents should just deliver their kids to a playground and let the lot of them figure out on their own what they'd like to do. They figure out something -- often more than one thing -- and the level of each one's engagement is observably higher. So what if it doesn't make sense to you, parents? It makes sense to them.

LOL, No Mow May is over and the damage toll is amusing to see. People hacked their way through all the growth and then the crass turned yellow from the resulting water loss.

Our is the stupidest generation in human history. We're not ignorant, just stupid. Lawns exist for a reason, they are not an enemy of the environment or wasteful. Many are now figuring this out the hard way.

I am seeing a lot more of this of late. Taking the grandkids to the playground, the elder one (who turns three this weekend) will immediately run up and say "hi, friend! Want to play!" to whomever shows up. We let them do their thing and bigger kids think it fun to run around with a chatty toddler.

I rip on my home town, but there are lots of good people here. We just elect idiots.

Two weekends ago at the cub scout camping weekend, the scouts cooked up some type of real life MineCraft game. Every one of them readily engaged in collecting "resources" and digging holes. I had no idea what was / were their objectives, but they were engaging enough that the youths ignored the campfire adjacent to their play area until the ingredients for roasting marshmallows were brought out.

I see the "instant friend" behavior, too. It is so gratifying to see their inherent openness to one another come forth without adult intervention.

Suffice it to say, I am no fan of parent-mediated and parent-scheduled "play dates", which often regress to the point of the kids zombifying in front of gaming consoles.

To thee before the close of day,
Creator of the world, we pray
That, with thy wonted favor, thou
Wouldst be our guard and keeper now.

From all ill dreams defend our sight,
From fears and terrors of the night;
Withhold from us our ghostly foe,

Doth live and reign eternally. Amen.

61 Our is the stupidest generation in human history. We're not ignorant, just stupid. Lawns exist for a reason, they are not an enemy of the environment or wasteful. Many are now figuring this out the hard way.

Most of the stupidity comes from carting around proportionately too much disposable knowledge. Does it really matter how large Kim Kardashian's ass is today? Or spend hours watching TikTok videos of penguins and cats? Its like a diet of nothing but sugar.

If you were to study the principles of developing and maturing an OODA cycle, you will immediately recognize that the mental training and rigor is exactly opposite of what our culture is doing now.

Mostly classical music that sounds somber to begin with, played on a cathedral organ. Some of it was familiar but nothing I could name. Then another song came up and it took a few seconds before I realized it wasn't classical it was..... Gangsters Paradise. A little while later I heard Paint it Black. Rap song, Rolling Stones song both sounded so cool played on a pipe organ with orchestral accompaniment and no vocals. Twas delightful!

Number two, our bathroom toilet seat broke at the hinge. She went to the store, got a new one and installed it. One of those soft close ones . Nice.

Number three, the kitchen sink starter leaking. She got out the manual, dissembled the faucet, identified the problem, ordered parts and reassembled it with the new parts. No leak.

Back when I was having to drive a government vehicle, the geniuses decided to buy vehicles that took E85 gas, and at one point some paper pusher made the decision that ALL of these vehicles had to be refueled with E85.

Well good luck finding a gas station that sold it. They managed to find a handful of stations around the area that did, but it took them a while to figure out it was "worse for the environment" to have a bunch of us driving around looking for E85, when the gas station a mile away from the meant less driving, and less of our work hours spent driving around looking for their bullshit gas.

I think you have to be a certain age bracket to have seen pictures of the thalidomide infants and children. Not something soon forgotten, especially when the government starts ordering people to take or be subjected to some new drug or technology.

Those images were in my mind when I did some DDG research on 'vaccines and corona virus'. It now appears the USA government did some pre-emptive cleanup/shutdowns of websites in this country to prevent people from finding out too much. My first DDG result sent me to the Australian Institute of Virology where I saw nothing but failure had been achieved in 20 years of efforts.

154 As some may know, I occasionally point out the absurdity of the practice of medical diagnosis coding.

Well, this happened:

After my toe amputation surgery last month I was reviewing my medical records and noted that my procedural chart had been coded as Z89.432 Acquired absence of left foot instead of Z89.422 Acquired absence of other left toe(s).

Toe, foot, whatever, right? Only off by one digit (SWIDT?). So when i called the Orthopedist's office to point out the error the young man in medical records said, "Oh, I see the difference. Well that encounter has been closed out, and it really won't make much of a difference."

After picking my jaw up off the floor I told him that the 90% of my left foot that is still attached to my ankle and the insurance company might disagree with him.

Always review you chart for accuracy. Always.

What's apparent in this modern world is, the more you dig into what you think you know, the more you notice what has been collectively accepted as truth either isn't true at all, or contains distortions and twisted facts, to the point where the truth is hidden in plain sight.

Then it becomes apparent, all the things we THINK we know, when the collective culture labels those with a contrary perspective, "conspiracy theorists," "anti-vaxxers," "flat earthers," "truthers," and other such epithets.

Now, is the earth flat? No, but how many of those other things we think we know, did not happen or do not work the way we're told.

Bottom line, if there's an "accepted truth" about virtually anything, at this point, you'd be more right than wrong to believe the truth, ain't.

238 When visiting with grandkids in their homes, I get to ENGAGE with them. At larger family/friend gatherings where other children are present, tho, I mostly get to OBSERVE them. Such was the case last weekend when I had the pleasure of observing our youngest granddaughter -- age 4-1/2 -- interact with a friend's son who was twice her age. This boy had happily been playing with a toy granddaughter wished to play with; but, rather than asking
the 9-year-old to share -- or indicating in any way that SHE wished to play with HIS toy -- she spoke with the tone of a politician -- or a car salesperson -- rattling off positive features of the toy with which she had been playing (and now no longer had interest). In short order, she convinced the boy to let go of the toy she desired. And I'll admit to being proud of how the situation was handled amicably. Imagining her as a teenager, however, now has me praying for her parents!

251 Why do I have to celebrate how other people have sex? Why does the general public have to know and respect how they choose to have sex? What the hell are they taking Pride in? I don't care if you prefer same sex partner/s or want to dress up in a costume. As long as the adults involved are consenting and you don't push it on children, do what you want. Why do I have to see and support it?

You just know the Eff Bee Eye has been investigating that very question. Who put it there, why was it black, why a sandbag and not tape?

Whoever the guy was, he's now been audited, had his home raided, looking for nazi flags, had his social media accounts scoured for references to maga, and his bank accounts gone over for donations to NRA, various candidates, and anti-school board groups, as well as finding out where he was on J6.

Muldoon, didn't know you were loosing toes. You're a doctor, so this is probably superfluous, but I was also having neuropathy issues with feet, not diabetic, probably due to long term coronary issues, way complicated by dropping a motorcycle on the right foot, but anyway, did the piecemeal fix this toe, amputate that toe, etc. Finally went for the whole front of foot metatarsals amputations. Should have done that in the first place, cheaper and more effective. fyi, ymmv.

You don't do ANYTHING. Everything you do is based on centralized AP reporting. Your local "reporting" is little more than a similar level of topic/discussion you can find in any church on any Sunday morning.

It reports such gems as: Mrs. Ezekiel Yoder of Kidron, OH is visiting cousins Katherine and Helen Zimmerman in Goshen Indiana. After a delightful gathering at the Old Bag Factory, lunch was served by the ladies at the home of Ruth Fenstermacher.

286 I have no idea why a sandbag would be on stage.

You'd have to be pretty kinky about AFA commencement speeches to follow this, but there is a history of presidents having their microphone stands and teleprompters getting out of control in those famous 7258-foot winds. Many steps were taken to keep this president from being embarrassed.

Biden was off his marks, standing in the wrong spot when he began to move, because he had posed for a "selfie" with the last cadet he had congratulated, a guy from Squadron 40 with a name beginning with Z, apparently in the mistaken belief that this was the "tail end Charlie," a position near and dear to Biden.

No system is fool-proof if you have a big enough fool.
