Human Rights Campaign Strips Tranheuser-Busch of Its Top "LGBTQ+ Rating" For Failure to Validate and Re-Validate and Re-Re-Validate Dylan Mulvaney

A few weeks ago, I noted that Tranheuser-Busch was between a rock and a hard place: They had alienated one third of their customer base, and meanwhile, the LGBT lobby was demanding they validate Dylan Mulvaney even harder to show those Bigots that H8 Has No Home Here.

I wrote that Tranheuser-Busch had validated the delusions of Dylan Mulvaney as part of a very stupid, insignificant internet marketing campaign -- but that the Rainbow Mafia would insist that the Unending Validation of Dylan Mulvaney was now their core business and chief stock-in-trade going forward.

Or, there would be consequences.

Well here are the consequences of not "defending" Dylan Mulvaney hard enough: a "top" Rainbow Mafia group has downgraded Tranheuser-Busch's
LGBTQ+ rating,
which will impact its ESG rating.

Anheuser-Busch loses top LGBTQ+ rating over its Bud Light response

Last year, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation gave Bud Light parent company Anheuser-Busch a top rating for LGBTQ+ equality. But because of how the company handled backlash to a sponsored post by Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender woman, it's now off the list.

The organization informed Anheuser-Busch of its decision in a May letter viewed by CNN, after previously writing to the company in April, criticizing its response. USA Today first reported on the decision.

Tranheuser-Busch refused to apologize for featuring Dylan Mulvaney. But they also didn't go so far as to double-down on their embrace of transgenderism, writing meekly that they "never intended" to provoke a "conversation," and just wanted to go back to the good old days of Rubes drinking their crap beer.

The Rainbow Mafia found this problematic and even homophobic.

The statement and management decisions "raise considerable concern for the LGBTQ+ community," Brown wrote in the April letter, which was also seen by CNN.

"In this moment, it is absolutely critical for Anheuser-Busch to stand in solidarity with Dylan and the trans community," he wrote at the time. "However, when faced with anti-LGBTQ+ and transphobic criticism, Anheuser-Busch's actions demonstrate a profound lack of fortitude in upholding its values of diversity, equity, and inclusion."

...

Brown asked A-B to make a public statement in support of Mulvaney and the trans community, offer transgender inclusion training to its executives and reach out LGBTQ+ employees to hear their concerns. He also asked to meet with A-B's leadership team.

...

About two weeks after the first letter, Brown sent another informing the company of the suspension of the 100% rating that had earned it entry to the list, citing a lack of response to those earlier requests. The foundation could reinstate the rating if the company addresses these concerns, Brown noted. A-B has about three months to respond.

Tranheuser-Busch is now paying people to buy their beer.

Tranheuser-Busch -- oh, sorry, that's Anheuser-Busch -- is panicking. Sales of Bud Light have been in the gutter ever since it presented the ubiquitous fingernails-on-chalkboard fake woman Dylan Mulvaney as the new face of the brand, and there is no sign that the alleged beer will break out of its nosedive anytime soon. And so now, Anheuser-Busch's obediently woke but desperate marketing wonks are giving the stuff away, offering a $20 rebate on a $19.98 case of Bud Light. Can patriots be bought for two cents and some watery beer? We shall see.

Meanwhile, if a couple of pennies isn't inducement enough to get the guys who used to drink Bud Light to go back to what has now been dubbed the "tranny fluid," Anheuser-Busch has decided to have Bud Light imitate Mulvaney and make its own transition: its familiar blue bottles will soon give way to camouflage packaging. One can picture the cynical millennial marketing team saying, "That'll bring those redneck rubes back. They love the military and war." Bud Light might as well put up billboards nationwide saying, "Please, patriots, don't be angry, even though we haven't apologized, and buy our beer again!" But the beer baron's cynicism and desperation are palpable.

The New York Post reported Wednesday that "a Bud Light seller apparently stuck with too many cases of the unsold brew in the wake of the company's Dylan Mulvaney fiasco is offering $20 rebates on purchases of a $19.98 case of beer." The Post added: "A photo posted to social media shows stacks of 24-can cases of Bud Light with a promo taped to them touting a full rebate from the unidentified beer vendor."

Starting at 0:42 here, pictures of cases of Bud Light being sold at 50% off or even $1.78 for an entire case:

Midnight's Edge points out that losing the HRC's Rainbow Mafia Protection means that their ESG score will go down, which will make it harder for them to get lines of credit from the financial institutions pushing this on us.

Yup. It ain't about "tolerance" or even "equality." It's about bending the knee. Tranheuser-Busch and a bunch of other companies bent the knee and put Mulvaney on shit within weeks of each other. That looked coordinated and it probably was. Somebody made him the poster child and the woke drones - on their accord or at someone's direction - clapped like seals and put him in ads and shit.

So all was well. But here's the problem: once you bend the knee, you can *never* unbend it. A general-purpose business like TB-InBev has one reasonable choice: do nothing. Ever. No politics. At all. In any venue or any context. The company needs to be apolitical.

And they have now learned that. They bent the knee and kissed the rink and evaporated at least quarter of their sales. And now the benefits are evaporating, too. Danegeld, Dane, etc.

45 There is a huge fight on Twitter between the LGB and the QT+ crowd. Team LGB wants Team QT+ to go be their own thing and stop piggybacking off the work of the gays. The gays don’t like their tactics, or their weirdness, particularly the child component. Which is saying something when you take a look at Pride Parades. They don’t want to be told they have to have sex with women with bulges when they are lesbians. It’s funny reading.

That's the underlying issue. If you rely on any kind of external financing to keep your balance sheet positive, you can't opt out of politics. Your financing is becoming increasingly dependent on your Political Purity Score, and that score is whatever the current clique of Khmer-ican Rouge psychopaths in charge say it is. So your only options are to never need to borrow money, or to toe the line as best you can and hope nobody in the clique puts a target on your back.

Not going to work. Beer is a regular transaction, not a big-time purchase. A mail-in rebate (I am guessing it is mail-in) is a pain in the ass and most people won't bother. I suspect that this is a push to put up phony sales numbers - "hey look, analysts! Sales are up after their lows!" - and spread out the fiscal pain into the next quarter. They will get some takers. Probably not enough - and they are going to lose a ton of money on every one they have to process.

98 “Anheuser-Busch works with 385 independent distributors, or wholesalers, across the country. Many of them are family-owned businesses that have carried Anheuser-Busch products for generations. The move of the company’s sales and marketing hub from St. Louis to New York in 2015, several years after Anheuser-Busch was acquired by global giant InBev, has been a point of contention. Some wholesalers have pushed the brewer to move those marketers back to St. Louis, arguing that executives in New York are out of touch with the drinkers of the company’s flagship brands. Anheuser-Busch also has marketers based in St. Louis, Austin, Miami and Los Angeles.”

99 Not going to work.

This is like when Mac and Dennis produced Paddy's dollars to give to the shanties, who could then use the Paddy's dollars to buy beer from them. But they ended up giving the shanties enough Paddy's dollars to buy full cases of beer, so they just gave the product away, which resulted in one of my favorite quotes:

"We have no money and no inventory. There's still something we can do. That's still a business somehow."

Perhaps you think multimillion-dollar ad campaigns make all that junk taste better. Perhaps you’re mouthing your words as you read this.

Unlike most markets, the market for alcohol is essentially monopolistic cartels via distributors. Due to the 22nd Amendment, states were given exclusive rights to regulate alcohol and they did so by making distributors in states the key players. Anheuser/InBev cannot sell direct to consumers--they have to go through distributors or a few large corporations such as Costco or Walmart that get themselves labeled as distributors. So distributors actually have a lot of power in states because if they quit selling your product, essentially it disappears from a state.

I am looking forward to June with open excitement. After Memorial Day, we'll probably find that the outright sales collapse has stabilized and maybe even recovered some.

And InBev is going to go full rainbow along with everyone else, just in time to reignite the fire.

This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory—maybe something with a multimillion-dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it’s made at an independent brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless seltzer / fizzy yellow beer / whatever-the-hell will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multimillion-dollar ad campaigns make all that junk taste better. Perhaps you’re mouthing your words as you read this.

Best of all, decades of cheap credit made this very attractive to corporate executives who's main goal is improving the stock price - and, therefore, their personal bottom line - even at the expense of the long term health of the company.

Now, higher interest rates are just pouring gasoline on the stupid. So many executives thought they were destined to be part of the new global nobility and now they find out that they're serfs also. LOL

My rant last week was about this. Basically, the first companies that hit this problem are stuck. They're going to be ground up. InBev isn't going to fail, but a lot of enterprise value has probably been destroyed because of this. They will be lessons to those paying attention. The only safe play to make is to gradually get yourself out from under ESG requirements, and that means shopping around and building new relationships with investment banks that don't play those games. It also requires having strong corporate finance health so you can accord to walk away from a deal. This will take time and there *will* be wreckage in the process.

There is room for the states to help build a non-ESG investment banking market. Some states have started, but it's too narrow - usually just "we won't do business if your bank forbids oil and gas investment." It needs to be wider - like, "we won't do business if your bank enforces any kind of ESG requirements on customers or has different pricing based on ESG."

Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at May 22, 2023 02:39 PM (DU+/6)

184 Agreed, but what was that Ace was saying the other day? These corporations are so dependent on these financiers because they're not set up to maintain cash flow in a sudden crisis (or something to that effect)? Maybe they should try fixing that and then they won't be so dependent on ESG babble.
Posted by: Dr. T

Corporate paper market is what Ace was referring to I believe but that can be fixed more or less in short order if your underlying business is profitable. It does however mean loss of profit from financializing your bigness from arbitrage gains (essentially, you borrow on the corporate paper market for routine expenses but use the money coming in to engage in very short term financial investments that gain a near risk free return.) Only works for very big corporations with large revenue flows as the arbitrage rate of return is negligible to small companies versus the risk.

It's even more complex than that. Between them, Blackrock, State Street and Vanguard control a huge amount of private investment dollars. And those dollars are invested in many of these companies at high levels. They are in the board rooms.

Remember the other day when a shareholder in Berkshire Hathaway was thrown out of a shareholder's meeting and detained by the cops when he dared say that BH should stay away from Bill Gates?

We had a lecture at work, one of my past jobs, where the emphasis was identifying and satisfying your customers, and what interior and exterior customers were.

Here, the customers are clearly the bankers who make their loans. The product is the consumers to buy the products, because the money from the products sold is used to pay off the loans, and the banks are paying extra for customers who will buy "woke stuff"
The problem is that the corporations are finding it hard to source "woke customers" and their margins are so thin that the premium they were expecting is the difference between their own profit and loss. Any Mom and Pop store owner could figure out the next possible steps, but I suspect a Wharton MBA is handcuffed by pre-conceptions.

If they didn’t want to be associated with the rest of the alphabet, they would have argued honestly and actually laid out a competing set of principles when they set out to redefine common words like “marriage.”

Instead they chose to argue entirely from the negative side, tearing down every Chesrteron’s fence they could find and couldn’t be bothered to attempt to erect anything back in place, because that was too much work or couldn’t actually be done in a way that achieved their intended outcomes while guarding against these new insanities,

At best, they knew this was coming because we all told them this was coming and did nothing then because they preferred to retain a more easily rhetoric tactic. At worse, they want this but aren’t brave enough to admit it,

So they can go F themselves.

The customer doesn't enter into the equation. The customer is taken for granted. Most people don't really think about it. They have a brand, they like it, they buy it by default and move on. Brand preferences are very, very hard to change (new baby, new spouse, new house - those are the only major marketing opportunities to shift preferences). Once you settle on Colgate, you'll keep buying it by default. One fewer damn thing to think about.

But while this poses a major challenge to customer acquisition, it is a boon to business operations. The customer will be there no matter what. Brand preferences are ingrained behavior and move slowly. And that leads - if you take your eye off the ball as all executives have done across corporate America - to taking the customer for granted. Do what you want, it doesn't matter. The customer sticks around because that's what customers do.

But if it reverses and brand preference becomes brand dis-preference - which is also hard to do - those trends flip and work against you.

Yep. It's Tranny Beer from now on. It's only a matter of time until they kill the brand completely. They should try a brand called "Bud I Have a Penis and Enjoy Sex With Women". Well, that could use some work.

In retrospect, perhaps the 1% of mentally ill people who don't know what sex they are wasn't really large enough to be a valid market segment.

258 One of the most crucial aspects of a color revolution is the recruitment and funding of NGOs and other activists to make it appear there is a grassroots well of support for the cause you are trying to promote. In Ukraine in 2014 the cause was largely getting rid of Russian influence in Ukraine.

It was no more a real grassroots issue than dudes in dresses is here. It's a planned campaign to change society and make it seem that this is an idea society really wants. Once you get a big enough campaign moving the weak minded and go along to get alongs will join in and those who don't will be branded as Nazis, racists, homophobes, bigots and whatever other slur they can think up.

But down in NE Ohio they're as common as BMWs it seems.

What's up with that. The weather isn't that much different than 180 mile up the road, and the infrastructure isn't that much better either.

384 That's also the reason they hurl credit cards at college kids. They're high-risk, but the odds are good that if the student manages to not go into default, he will hold that same card for the rest of his life.

Back in the '90's, I was living in Berkeley, and some credit card company set up a table at Sproul Plaza at the University, and handed out credit card applications.

It turned out they accepted all the applications from STEM majors, and threw out all the applications from liberal arts majors.

It was hilarious.

I would like to know how this is measured. I believe wholeheartedly that the vax and boosters are screwing with peoples' immune systems, making them more vulnerable to suffering a bad case of infection. But there's no way to track who has had covid *without even knowing*. How many times have non-vaxxed gotten covid, had their immune systems kick in to minimize its effects, and never known it, while others on booster #7 were completely compromised by the infection and got dreadfully ill -- hence, are able to say they definitively "got covid" again?

460 If we have any millionaires here, I have a business proposition.

Let's start a bank. A bank that lends to businesses, based on sound business plans and decision-making records, rather than ESG bullcrap.

There's money to be had here.

461 That's not how BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard, the Human Rights Commission and Soros roll. It's basically corporate blackmail. Nice company you've got there. Be a shame if you were cut off from all sources of funding.

Not excusing the InBev guys but anyone who thinks all these companies just woke up on the same day and decided to trash their longtime customer base to go woke is not getting the full picture.

It violates the CR 64. Tying a community good - banking - to identifying and discriminating against non-trans/gays/etc.

Need more states to pass local laws forbidding these lending practices. More are coming every session. And since blue states are shrinking and losing economic assets, I'd say we could win this think more quickly than we think.

464 harder for them to get lines of credit from the financial institutions pushing this on us
Seems that would be a matter for the FDIC(?) to see that the bank is not actually doing what it declares it will do in its charter, and not holding to its fiduciary duty. Which should bring big fines - maybe big enough to require it to liquidate some holdings and cause a run on the bank....

More than $15k can be earned online by performing straightforward tasks from home. In the previous month, I got $18376. Even a young child may do this job and make money because it is so simple to complete and has higher pay than typical office occupations. Everyone needs to try this task by using the information on this page. www.Richepay.com
