The Catastrophically Misplaced National Security Focus Of The Biden Junta

Actually, the idea that a border dispute between two regional kleptocracies is of any importance to the security of the United States is too stupid a thought to entertain for more than a few seconds, unless you are a highly placed official in ersatz president Biden's inner circle. In which case the interests of America are unimportant...the most important thing is keeping the graft flowing freely.

Once the Russian armed forces were exposed as being mediocre at best, the war became a garden variety war of attrition, without sufficient superiority on either side for a decisive campaign. Whether that remains in effect is a question for experts on the Russian military, but it makes no sense to assume that had Putin been capable of a fast and decisive military campaign he would not have done so.

Ukraine Conflict Could Now Last DECADES, According to Biden Govt Insiders.

Joe Biden’s government is now planning for the Ukraine conflict to last years – “perhaps decades” – with no clear victor, according to insider claims.

POLITICO – a German-owned outlet the “intelligence community” often uses to plant information – spoke to a number of current and former officials “granted anonymity to describe sensitive issues” who believe Ukraine could become a frozen conflict.

“We are planning for the long term, whether it looks frozen or thawed,” said a source the report described as a “U.S. official familiar with the Biden administration’s discussions on Ukraine.”

The new claims echo a warning made by National Pulse editor Raheem Kassam on Steve Bannon’s War Room in December 2021. Kassam said at the time: “If Americans thought Afghanistan was a debacle and took decades, and trillions of dollars, then let me tell you this as a matter of fact: if you get into a hot war with Russia over Ukraine, you will be there for 50 years, and tens of trillions of dollars. This is no small altercation you’re talking about, and not a short altercation you’re talking about.”

We have the current version of Vietnam, Afghanistan, Korea, Iraq...a huge and deep hole into which America pours its treasure, but hopefully not its blood....yet. Until we get a populist president in the White House this never-ending war will continue to be financed by the people of America, for no other reason than to maintain the graft, maintain the fiction that Putin is the world's arch villain, and to deflect our attention away from the monumental domestic problems that are probably the first 50 on most American's lists of issues before you hit Ukraine.

But the senile drooler-in-chief has powerful allies in the media who are content to lie about Ukraine's importance in the geopolitical dance. Never mind that China is by far the more aggressive adversary, and by far the greatest national security threat we face.

What is it going to look like? Just like a dozen other low-intensity conflicts, only with modern missile defenses and anti-aircraft systems that make air superiority a pipe dream. And that costs...a lot! Ukraine isn't running out of rifle ammunition...it is running out of complex and expensive weapons that have no robust supply chain and manufacturing capacity that can be ramped up at a moment's notice. So we are depleting our own stocks to prop up the Ukrainian klepotcrats so that they can lounge and shop on Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré and Bond Street while their own people suffer...a little bit.

Just wait until next year's military budget when the Joint Chiefs tell Congress that we are down 50% from our planned stocks and we must jump start the already bloated and wealthy military-industrial complex with a few hundred billion dollars to get their assembly lines rolling faster. Too bad Eisenhower isn't around to point it out (having done nothing about it!).

All for a war that means nothing to our security, and even very little to Europe's security. Russia isn't going to invade Poland or Romania or Slovakia...they have demonstrated that they can't conduct a successful war on their own border, much less project force.

And coincidentally, China is the biggest buyer of Russian oil. I wonder if there is any connection?

18 The "war" in Ukraine is a decades long operation, that crosses administrations of both parties... because it's an American war, orchestrated to serve the masters of the American political system. Namely, corporatists and their deep state toadies.

Leaving aside the need to explain that Biden doesn't make ANY decisions in his White House, this is not about anything anyone is saying out loud. It never was. Destroying Russia is the goal, and frankly, I'm not sure why, specifically, Russia, except that everyone in our Deep State apparatus was raised to hate Russia.

19 The worst element of the present crisis, at least from our side, isn’t the virulent Russophobia emitting from the same people who scoffed at standing up to the Kremlin when it was controlled by zealots hell-bent on worldwide Communist revolution—by conquest if necessary. It’s not even the newfound war fever of former pacifists who once denounced military preparedness as reckless provocation. It’s the casual insouciance with which elites now speak of nuclear exchanges as an acceptable price to pay for stopping Russia and, really, not all that bad. Exhibit A is Anne Applebaum’s recent Atlantic column entitled “Fear of Nuclear War Has Warped the West’s Ukraine Strategy.”

The West is not doing enough to escalate the conflict, she argues, because “[w]e feel relieved, somehow, that people will die because they have frozen in unheated apartments or drowned in an artificial flood, and not from nuclear fallout.” And, hey, what’s the difference?

30 Well, we have this reference: Mike Klonsky, 1980. These Maoist SDS are now fully embedded in the US Government.
"The U.S., of course, is one of the two superpowers in the world. It is one of the people’s main enemies and certainly the direct enemy of the American people."
And, re: USSR/Russia:
"As for China, that is a socialist country which has the right and the necessity to enter into certain agreements and to utilize every tactic they can to oppose the Soviet drive."
The people running this thing turned on 'Russia' as far back as 1980; while 'Conservatives' were on about Communist Russia, the real Communists emphatically stripped the USSR of its title of Socialist, and did it 50 years ago.
Anti-Russia activity, short- or long-term, is not surprising.

31 Funny, but it never gets mentioned that Russia is, in all likelihood, slow-walking this conflict on purpose. The intended purpose behind this strategy is to drain "the West" of military capabilities and hardware, expose the weakness in their adversary's military personnel, show the world the hypocrisy of so-called leaders like Biden and Zelensky, and deplete Ukraine of resources so that what is left in the future will present no threat to mother Russia. So far, this approach seems to be working.

69 Most of the fighting in Ukraine is where the Russian/Russian friendly people live...it would be odd if the Russians weren't being careful about civilian casualties.

And note...that makes sense. We should have been filling jihadis at a much greater rate, because they were our enemies in Iraq and A'Stan...but the Donbassians are like the Kurds in Iraq (well closer actually since they are Russians).

For which they traded enormous amounts of men and material they don't have to squander. Anyone with an ounce of military sense can see that the city wasn't worth what they paid for it. It was about Putin's ego, and his desire to put Prigozhin in his place, not strategic significance.

81 Russia seems to be only really effective when defending their homeland and that was because of over whelming numbers and guns to their back. Winter also helps. Even their proxy wars show signs of their ineffectiveness. It's not the soldiers fighting ability but the leadership and motivation to fight for that leadership imo.

It seems to be the opposite here. Our military is motivated to kick ass and our leadership frequently tries to stomp on that motivation or put roadblocks in front of it. And today that leadership is still trying to change that internal military motivation by infiltrating it with socialist incompetents.

84 Our pastor had a moving and powerful altar call this morning in church and people responded.

Evil will always be with us and we need to oppose it as we can but we need the shield and sword of faith in the one true God. Because he is the one who has all power and the only one who can fight the prince of the powers of the darkness of this world.

We are, as we always are, up against the sinful nature of mankind, which is why opposing it is always like playing whack-a-mole. It has to be done ... but we need to know that the final judgment lies with the Lord and at that point, all debts will be paid one way or the other.

And in this world, those of us who oppose evil really need to have one hand in the hand of the Almighty to give us the strength and the courage to carry on.

Bless all of you, and may you all find that faith if you don't have it. And know that in the end, God's will will be done.

Appears to me that each and every modern (D) president is committed to giving away land/territory. See also, Panama, Iran, Iraq, Crimea, US southern border, etc. Ukraine should have been another easy cede with appropriate payoffs. (R)s usually like ongoing black hole conflicts on the simmer, but (D)s like the surrender kink.

Just my unformed impression. Rubio (R) Intel Cmte now has his beautiful head of hair.

The Russians are testing and collecting data too. But the deployment of material is, if not haphazard, then certainly piecemeal and incompatible. Clearly they started the war with much less. However, they've been smart in how they used their men, and with us supplying materiel, it's the Russians who are using ancient equipment such as the T-55/54.

If you look at some of the videos of the Ukes in their current pushback around the S and N or Bakhmut, you see poorly-equipped Russian conscripts and Wagners effectively left to their fates in isolated foxholes. It reminds me of Saddam's cannon fodder in Kuwait.

I can find a fair number of YT clips of surrendering Russians, but not a one of surrendering Ukes. If the Russians had them, don't you think they'd post them?

I listened to a podcast the other day, a couple fellers talking about the aliens (not the mexican type), and what they're up to. Now, I'm not saying I believe any of it, but I am saying, when they talk about how all the powers that be talk about it, it's truth wrapped in lies, wrapped in conspiracies, and misinformation campaigns perfected by the Deep State.

So yeah. At this point, I'm not ruling out aliens directing essentially everything the human race is doing now, perhaps for their own amusement, or some other more nefarious purpose. Regardless, nothing we get told is true. Not entirely, and anything we are told is only told to serve some purpose we don't yet know. Could be aliens, is what I'm saying.

116 "We have the current version of Vietnam, Afghanistan, Korea, Iraq"

The West is actually on the long-end-of-the-stick of the proxy war equation here, for once, which should give anyone who seriously thinks about this pause: what changed to invert that? It's that "We" aren't puppeting Ukraine here. "We" don't run shit. The faction of marxist-derived authoritarians running the West are. This is just the Globalist faction and the Chinese one both goading the remnants of the Soviet one into self-immolating for their own purposes. We are simply along for the ride.

In passing - corrupt as its government is (which is primarily a post-Soviet artifact), to lump the Ukrainians with with the Russians culturally is to fundamentally misunderstand the precise moral bankruptcy and dysfunction that brought us the Soviet Union, and the nature of its crimes against its neighbors. A similar but more extreme example would be conflating Japan/Korea and the Chinese, who are a 4,000 year dumpster fire.

Every war takes on a life of its own and this one is no different. I suspect for Putin it is a domesticated Ukraine with Zalensky gone. For Zalensky it is probably the removal of all Russian forces from Ukraine.

146 The Post found Biden received three vacations at the homes of “wealthy and politically connected owners” during the past year.

The first trip occurred in August of last year, when Biden and his family spent seven days at the luxury home of Maria Allwin, in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, a source confirmed to the Post.

Three months later, in November, the extended Biden family reportedly stayed six days at the Nantucket Island home of billionaire David Rubenstein.

In late 2022 and extending into the new year, Biden and his family stayed seven days at the St. Croix VRBO rental beach house of Bill and Connie Neville.

Of the three trips, two were free of charge to the president, according to the Post. One was suspected to be free, but the Post was unable to confirm this.

The conflict may not be our business and the geographic history is complicated and stupid, but - not to be too much a dick - this is one of the dumbest things I've read here in a long while. Russia wants to "correct" Ukrainians in much the same way an abusive husband wants to "correct" their ex-wife by beating them into a pulp. The prevailing Russian public attitude now that the war is going to to shit is "well if they won't welcome us we'll just have to kill them all"

The Russian inferiority complex cannot abide the Ukrainians as a discrete culture and they've been trying to stamp them out on and off for generations. It drives them nuts that so much came from the Ukraine, from the MTLBs and T-80's and Movska class cruisers, to a huge chunk of the Soviet space program. And even up until the war, support for a bunch of their ICBM programs.

It would allow for the electronic delivery of military call-up papers, in addition to traditional letters, and bans those liable for military service from traveling abroad.

The new Russian law applies to people who have received induction notices - not young males generally. People who haven't received an induction notice are still free to leave the country.

The law is viewed as a way of tightening up the mobilization law in advance of a possible future mobilization, not as a general prohibition on young men traveling abroad.

Russia has a long history of "oh no, look at our aggrieved ethnic Russian population - we must go save them". Eastern Europe is aware of this which is precisely why so many of the other ex-Warsaw states expelled them (Ukraine fucked up massively trying to maintain friendly relations, and now even the majority of the ~20% primarily Russian-speaking population *loathes* the Russians and are switching languages). The Russians tried to genocide the Ukrainians multiple times; I have zero sympathy here.

Yes, the 2014 coup was Western (globalist) backed. Western leadership being a bunch of disgusting twats doesn't absolve Russia in this one bit.

People like to puff up their chests, talk about how incompetent the Russian military is. That's probably true.

But hey, howdy hey, has anyone seen the U.S. military in action recently? We've got an unbroken string of failure to our name, going back at LEAST until Saddam was toppled.

Nowadays, does anyone think we could fight a sustained war, what with our high heel wearing "men," and lesbos running things?

Depleting war reserve ammo weakens the West. It makes a ground defense of Taiwan much harder.

I see South Korea is building an Arsenal ship, something we foolishly abandoned in 1990.

With a merchant ship stuffed with AA missiles in vertical launch tubes, we have a chance west of Wake. Otherwise, we may be overwhelmed, with heavy losses.

The good news is our remaining nuke warheads can then target the conveniently close together Chinese urban areas. That would bring world population counts down fast. The WEF wins!

198 Let's say we "win" in Ukraine. Seems unlikely at the moment but let's go with it.

What then? We are left with the most corrupt country in Eastern Europe, a place where billions of western tax dollars have gone already and much of it has simply disappeared into the pockets of the rich and powerful, and the country will be in shambles. It will require decades of multi-billion dollar infusions of western tax dollars to rebuild the place with again much of the money never reaching the intended targets.

And if when it is rebuilt who gives a fuck? Nobody cared an iota about Ukraine 5 years ago and nobody really cares about it now. Russia will lick its wounds and continue selling oil and gas to China, Iran, India and anyone else not part of the every diminishing western alliance.

So what will we have won?

202 I don't take anything reported at face value, but reading various eastern European milbloggers (including Russians) it seems clear that both sides are at the point of exhaustion. That's why the fighting has devolved into a static battle where they mostly throw shells and missiles at each other. I think the claims of some Ukrainian "offensive" are mostly attempts to stake out a good bargaining position.
Posted by: Tom Servo at May 21, 2023 01:06 PM (S6gqv)

It's also come down to who can find some artillery shells. The Russians are getting shells from North Korea while the Ukrainians are getting shells from South Korea.

I do believe there could be a Ukrainian counter-offensive, but I keep having this nagging feeling that the Russians want the Ukrainians to drive too far .. then the Russians encircle them. This is based on the Wagner Group complaining for ammunition

Posted by: Neo at May 21, 2023 01:25 PM (RovqD)

203 There's a drone video flyover of Bakhmut online, a couple milbloggers have posted it. When they say there's not a lot left - nope, there isn't. It had a population of around 70,000 pre-war, now just a few hundred at most. About 90% of all existing structures in the town have been heavily shelled and burned to the ground. Anything useful is long gone - it's just a big graveyard now.

Their border forces have been stripped pretty heavily. Even their EU-facing formations have been thinned out; the only thing mostly-intact are the palace-guard types around Moscow and St. Petersburg.

They're so hard up for arms that they're scraping the barrel even on small arms and crew served stuff. There is domestic production but it's not keeping up, and whatever shit training they had for normal infantry/mech infantry formations before is almost non-existent now.

For anyone consistently paying attention to what is going on and not just consuming 'tard media (whether pro-Ukraine or pro-Russia), what they've done to their military and how much they've fucked up is just mind-boggling.

227 UKR feels like COVID all over again to me. I am once again on the side saying the US gov is lying and incompetent and seemingly deranged.

I see RUS waging a Military Operation that will be studied for generations as a textbook example of efficiency and success.

The UKRs have done incredible things with mobile artillery and were stunning early on wrt drone warfare.

Nevertheless, UKR is on its 3rd army and prob has +350k KIA with RUS having closer to 60k KIA. RUS is still using its first army.

The recent RUS loss of the 4 elite aircraft in the combined air formation was likely friendly fire. In effect, it shows that NATO has no ability to wage any kind of air war against RUS as RUS airforce sig more sophisticated than NATO.

The recent elimunation if the PAC-3 shows NATO air defense is insufficient to deter RUS missile tech.

RUS seems as powerful as the ability if their economy to support construction w/o going into a catabolic death spiral (as the USSR did thank god).

The real story we hear nothing about js under the seas in sub hide and seek. Who knows how that is playing out.

300 I will note that the Western narrative of Ukrainian military proficiency is to varying degrees fabricated and is a VERY successful propaganda effort. They're relying a lot more on bleeding than training - out of necessity - than the Western media is portraying, although they are improving and regularly surprise their complacent/woke Western counterparts.

However as someone who has worked with people/companies from all of these places - Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, etc. - the average American really doesn't understand just how fucking retarded and dysfunctional the Russians actually are. They really are a different culture. We still have Russian friends, some still stuck in Russia, and even they'll admit this when they're shitfaced.

I think this is another flavor of missing what is going on here. 342 I agree that Russia and Ukraine are corrupt regimes. But Putin has a desire, if not the ability, to rebuild the USSR and will then join with China and Iran and North Korea and others to impose their twisted, tyranny on the rest of the world.

The threat here is a reunited USSR allied with a more potent China, rolling over a demoralized west, one state at a time.

Had the west stopped Hitler at the Rhineland, Austria or Czechoslovakia it is likely that there would have been no WW2. If we don't stop Putin in Ukraine, there is a much greater chance of WW3.

I don't see how people don't see that but a lot of conservatives seem to engage in wishful thinking on this matter. If we can't oppose Putin in Ukraine, we won't oppose Xi in Taiwan. It's really that simple.

344 I don't see how people don't see that but a lot of conservatives seem to engage in wishful thinking on this matter. If we can't oppose Putin in Ukraine, we won't oppose Xi in Taiwan. It's really that simple.

346 >>>Do you really think Putin will stop with Ukraine?
What will China do if we do not confront Putin now?

>This is silly. Who cares? One has nothing to do with the other. Diplomacy is out of the barn. If we become the target of hostilities, kill them all.

If you don't realize that a reunified USSR is a greater threat to western Europe then, like I said, you aren't thinking it through. You don't deter aggression by giving in to it. Maybe Xi will learn Taiwan won't be a pushover once Putin gets bitch-slapped.
