That's what its initial use was limited to. End stage cancer pain. Then quack WC doctors were prescribing it for 'intractable back pain'. It was a huge problem in Texas until finally it was listed as not an approved drug under the WC guidelines. Not surprisingly I saw no issues arising from the ban.

While cloudy and I can't see squat, those of you who can, can see Venus, Mars fairly close over the Western horizon. Mars is making almost a straight line with Pollux and Castor, and Betelgeuse is right above the horizon.

Orion is about to disappear into the Sun for a while, but Betelgeuse is still above the horizon for a while after sunset.

Procyon and Sirius are nearby as well.

212 Has anybody discovered a band that has been around a bit and you've heard of but just didn't listen too. The one I'm listening to now, Tedeshi Trucks Band, is one of them. I knew about Derek Trucks with his connection with the Allman Brothers Band whom I'm a bit of a fan boy. I figured the TTB would be pretty good. Didn't gather they'd be great. Not sure why. I'm slow. Tedeschi has a great voice.

From what I understand, these are rescues, they were cubs and sickly and this person took them in. They were nursed back to health and cared for until they were able to go out on their own. Apparently the big cats remember that and love that person no matter how big and scary they get.

In the poem, Helen (of Troy) is a little girl who watches and learns a low-class dance. Later in life her womanly wiles would start a war and launch a thousand ships. The poem ponders what started it. It also touches on what may have driven Caesar and Michelangelo's influence on his society.

Short poem - I recommend it.
