Homeless veterans -- and US citizens, of course -- kicked out of state-subsidized hotels to make room for illegal aliens.

From the New York Post:

The New York Post reported that almost two dozen homeless veterans were told to leave upstate New York hotels to make room for the illegal aliens that NYC Mayor Adams is bussing out of his city.

It's like a demonstration run of Replacement Theory.

Sharon Toney-Finch is the CEO of the Yerik Israel Toney Foundation, an organization she created to raise awareness of premature births, as well as help homeless and low-income military veterans. "Our veterans have been placed in another hotel due to what's going on with the immigrants.''

The Middletown hotels are not believed to have migrants yet but were reportedly on the city's shortlist to take some.
She said the hotels didn't explicitly say the vets had to move because of the migrants but that it was clear to her that was the case, given the timing.

Leaders in the veteran community were quick to denounce the evictions of the former soldiers, many of them struggling with PTSD.
"These veterans served their country, taking an oath to put themselves in harm's way if need be," said David R. Riley Sr., American Legion Department of New York commander. "They deserve better. We owe them. Our country, our state, our citizens owe them."

Nah, our new Replacement Americans deserve more.

Biden and Mayorkas are congratulating themselves on how nicely the invasion is going.

Joe Biden was asked about the situation at the southern border after Title 42 expired and he laughed. He poked a bit of fun at the media for reporting on the expected increase in the flood of migrants trying to illegally cross into the United States outside of a legal port of entry. "Much better than you all expected." That is what he told a reporter on Sunday while out for a bike ride in Delaware. Biden went to the beach as Border Patrol agents and the State of Texas were left to handle the chaos at the border.
DHS Secretary Mayorkas was on a tour of the Sunday morning political shows and did his best to gaslight viewers about how great things are going at the border since Title 42 ended, all because of the work of his department. That's quite a spin. He wasn't the only one with that spin, though. There was Biden repeating how great things are going and also Kamala Harris, who was delivering the same talking points as busloads of illegal aliens arrived at her doorstep in Washington, D.C. from Texas. And, there was the video footage of the shelter in El Paso that is shockingly overcrowded with migrants.
Joe and Jill went to the beach in Delaware, hiding out at their second home and Kamala went to Georgia to sooth hurt feelings of Democrats upset with recent decisions against them and to raise money for Democrats. Biden told reporters he doesn't have any plans to visit the border. Shocker, I know.
It is being reported that border crossings have fallen 50% since Title 42 expired. That would be great news if it were not for the fact that 10,000 per day were crossing the border in the days leading up to the end of Title 42. Mayorkas knows the bravado of the administration's talking points is likely to prove to be temporary. During this period of uncertainty, when no one knows what to expect, it is best to proceed with caution.

LOL, I'm prepared to dismiss caution. It is simply not physically possible that illegal immigration has fallen since the measure that was most responsible for keeping illegals from coming has been rescinded.

And of course this "drop" was only a drop from all-time-record border crossings over the last month.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the three days prior to Title 42's final day in effect, Border Patrol agents encountered more than 10,000 migrants per day, Fox News Digital reported. Those figures marked the highest single-day totals ever recorded.
And over the last 12 months with available data, Border Patrol agents encountered about 6,958 migrants per day.
"What the secretary failed to say is that this week has seen more crossings than any time, any week in our history," Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green, R-Tenn., said in an interview with CNN following Mayorkas' interview Sunday. "Yes, there was some anticipation. And so people started coming across at higher numbers, in fact, record-breaking numbers at the first part of the week."
"But in the latter part of the week, a judge ruled that they can't do their plan of just releasing without a court date which Secretary Mayorkas has said on the news was a bad idea. But that court ruling said he can't do that," Green continued. "The drug cartels have responded and the numbers have fallen off for a couple of days. But he admitted just moments ago that they can't predict the peak."

An illegal alien told a CNN reporter that he had crossed the border illegally because he had heard that Biden had rescinded Title 42.

Did the CNN "journalist" ask further questions? Did he ask if other illegals were similarly motivated? After all, "journalists" and leftwingers (but I repeat myself) are always talking about "the root causes of migration" -- didn't he want to find out what those root causes were?

Get this: No he did not. He immediately ended the interview when the illegal alien offered an answer that hurt the leftwing narrative.

CNN suddenly ended an interview after a migrant said he illegally crossed the border because of the recent expiration of Title 42.
As a CNN reporter strolled the streets near the U.S.-Mexico border, he stopped to ask a migrant, "Were you aware of Title 42 and that they were going to open the border like before the pandemic?"
In response, the migrant said "yes," telling the reporter that he heard the southern border would be wide open following the Biden Administration's decision to lift the Trump-era policy and decided to make the trip.
The CNN reporter then abruptly thanked the man and quickly ended the interview.

CNN: "Were you aware of Title 42 and that they were gonna open the border like before the pandemic?"

"Yes."

This tragedy illustrates two things: everyone in Portland should carry Narcan, since there is an increasing chance that you'll come across someone ODing on your daily travels.

Also, everyone should have fentanyl test strips, so you can test your drugs to make sure that they aren't really fentanyl.

You can't ask people to stop using drugs, of course - after all, all the rich people in the fancy mansions are using hard drugs too. They just hide it better.
