Westminster group judging starts in a few minutes. Delilah was entered, but we decided not to go.

It was a pain but also a thrill to show at Madison Square Garden. Now that they've moved the show to the piers, then to Tarrytown, now to the tennis stadium in Queens, it's become just another dog show, but much more expensive.

45 Speaking of felines. I posted this morning I had to trap my feral cat as something was wrong with his mouth and he was drooling and couldn’t eat well. Well he lost a fang. I guess he had already lost one on top and the one on the same side bottom was coming out and he was all confused. His little tongue was hanging out. The tooth was gone before he got to the vet so they gave him antibiotic shot that lasts 2 weeks and all his shots plus a revolution for fleas. He ate good and is wobbly walking around the yard.

They had/have a meteorite in the Science Museum in Chicago that people pay to go in and touch it. We got in for free because we were active duty and got to touch it for nothing. It is/was in a big box with a couple of small holes for your hands to fit in it so some enterprising people could not go in with tools and hack off a piece or two for souvenirs.

If you are still around. A few weeks ago you mentioned finding some earlier Thomas Kinkade paintings and how impressed you were. I got a couple of books for that period and have to agree. Whatever he was like as a person, the guy had talent. It was interesting to see the development of that mellow lighting that became a trademark of his commercial 'cottage' paintings that make the art critics grit their teeth.

yeah he was definitely a real talent and, like Norman Rockwell in time I think will be treated as a master. Yeah he was kitschy and overcommercialized and kinda cheesy in some of his stuff, but he had genuine skill and vision and his work is pretty amazing.

And I liked why he painted that way; he was trying to show what the world would be like, without sin.

I'm glad you were able to see some of his earlier work. The art world/critics dismissed him mainly because he was an outspoken born again Christian. They were happy to see he had substance abuse problems which they think contradict his Christianity.

I'm still not a big fan of his lighted cottages body of work but it made him a very wealthy man.

241 Jaimo, happy to hear it was a minor tooth issue with the feral kitty. I had a kitty once that was pretty old and suddenly his teeth/mouth looked terrible and he was obviously in pain. Quick trip to vet-two extractions, antibiotics-and he healed up in no time. Cats are amazing, resilient.

I have only driven a couple of exotics. When I got out of the Lamborghini Miura, I thought, 'Damn, I'd hate to have to use that as a daily driver'. There was nothing pleasant about it.

Testarossa was much more interesting, but still (in a practical sense) a toy. The Ferrari owner told me that the cost of the car wasn't so bad, but the insurance...
