On taxing the crypto mining
"It explained it wants to tax crypto-mining companies because they aren't paying for the "full cost they impose on others," including environmental pollution and high energy prices." Mining for crypto takes more electrisacals then say...charging a car? Heating or cooling a large gubbmint building? Heating or cooling a large gubbmint building? Posted by: Bruce at May 06, 2023 04:09 AM (Zrzqo) They're probably not smart enough to realize it themselves, but it's ultimately a Trojan horse for saying *all* electricity consumption should be given some monstrously large Pigout tax like this. Looks at first glance like setting up yet another cozy little fascistic public/private hokey-pokey, too. Nobody can do crypto mining! Well, ok, somebody has to do it. So we'll give this one company a tax rebate, because of the children.
Hey, haven't we always been good to you? How's about scripting in a little backdoor as a lithe favor so that we, the Good Guys, can seize the assets of any Bad Guys without any fuss or messiness? The utter dreck being posted at the bbc site:
As for the modern touches - the coach boasts hydraulic shock absorbers and air conditioning. We can’t speak for the handling on London roads, however. You can bet this has all been rehearsed down to the most minute detail. Another 1,000 route liners from the forces are flanking them. That might sound like a lot, but we’re expecting the return procession to be larger still. Posted by: m at May 06, 2023 05:28 AM (1rQ1e) 81

I didn't just say the thing I clearly said:
Self-proclaimed “virtual pastor” Justin Berkobien, who has a trans flag and pronouns in his Twitter bio, compared Jordan Neely to Jesus, tweeting, “Jesus is a 30 year old black man riding the subway hungry, thirsty, fed up.” Evidently, he realized the hornets’ nest he just kicked over and said in a follow-up tweet, “I’ve never limited replies on a post until this one. Just had a feeling. A man made in God’s image died. He wasn’t perfect, but neither am I. It’s true I don’t know all the details. I’m not rushing to judgment. My imperfect poem says nothing of the killer.” Posted by: Cat Ass Trophy at May 06, 2023 06:15 AM (gjKz3) 126

JmT, really prayers for her and her son are the only thing she needs. Thankfully she has a wonderful network of support down there. It has just been such a shock, happening so quickly as it did. And now she is the owner of his business which she knows nothing about. And her son is getting married in two weeks. It's all just too much at once.

Except to me, the apology is worse.
He did rush to judgement, and did not attempt to walk it back. Instead tried to convince us he did not. Second, evidently Jesus was just a guy made in Gods image like all other humans. Third he implies subway Jesus was murdered by the Pharisees, so he does say something about the Marine. Posted by: Cat Ass Trophy at May 06, 2023 06:25 AM (gjKz3) 137

A federal judge ordered a Kentucky man who assaulted multiple police officers to serve 14 years in prison Friday in the longest sentence handed down yet in a Capitol riot case.
Peter Schwartz, who was living in Pennsylvania at the time of his arrest, appeared Friday afternoon before U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta. Schwartz was convicted by a jury in December on 13 counts, including four counts for attacking police with dangerous weapons and three other weapon-related felonies. Schwartz has what prosecutors described as a “jaw-dropping” criminal history of 38 prior convictions dating back to 1991. Pantifa maybe?? Posted by: rhennigantx at May 06, 2023 07:16 AM (BRHaw) 225

What I was not asked to sign was a document stating that all machines associated with the election were tested and found to pass the L&A test. County election management was specifically questioned about the Ballot On Demand (BOD) printers that would be part of the election equipment, and they responded that BOD printers were not part of the L&A test that we witnessed. Nor were we asked to verify the test ballots as marked.
Now I get it: 1. They use real ballots pre-printed for the test. 2. The BOD ballot on demand printers were not in the test. 3. The BOD printer we set to print unreadable ballots (that it on the pre0tested scanners) that then could be thrown out or marked for whatever candidate they wanted.
