My Dad was an Engineer for ATT back when they were Ma Bell... his area was both sets of mountains in Central Calif (Sierras and Coast Ranges). He had a yuge collection of old maps showing old rail routes, and old roads from the Gold rush era... lots and lots of stuff still back there in the sticks.

That is very cool about your dad. I have a fairly large collection of maps and old books on the logging and mining days here. I found an old logging donkey once. Usually, I say little about them because of the looter action. Stevens Pass, WA had the deadliest avalanche in the US in the early 1900's. Two stalled trains, just west of the old tunnel. Swept the rail cars and engines ove ra cliff. 90 some fatalities.

Saute up the usual suspects, plus/or anything else suitable at hand, dump in the eggs and cheese, and 15 minutes in the oven. Done. Since we've had ovens again, this has become a standard go-to. Sort of real breakfast food, minimal effort.

Blueberry buttermilk pancakes from scratch, also a snap now. Since blueberries are always (and sort of surprisingly) available at a reasonable price (one of the few dramatic improvements in living standards from 20 years ago), it's become another standard. Best pancakes I've ever made.

Going on 5 years now since I turned their box into a whole house free TV system. Bought an antenna to mount on the side of the house, wired it... and most of our TV is 50's and 60's westerns now.
The rest sucks. Modern shows and Broadcast news. There are still more channels than 90's cable and just as many that I never watched. I dumped cable when the Military Channel had that guy go trans. Cable was one of my first boycots.

They still have Saturday morning cartoons too. A Bowl of Fruity Dino Bites and it like being a kid again. All free after investment.

Actually an interesting legal question. The Legal standard used to be, if you have a reasonable expectation of privacy, then it should remain private short of a court order.... is that still true? Because something marked as a Private message, should then remain private. Now, if its on a company server? Things get murky...

She struggled so hard to get pregnant with her son, so this pregnancy is such a miracle. My team is like family to me and would appreciate all prayers for her as she goes through her pregnancy with these precious babies. She will have 3 under 3!

When I was at NAS Whidbey Island, they had some blueberry port wine thing they made there that was really good - good for nothing. But at least I found something I could drink. Never saw it again, all these years later.

When I was in, the CPO mess drank anything that wasn't nailed down - man, could they put a pint of anything away. Pretty impressive.
