Tonight's Message of The Day

I believe more and more people are starting to feel the way I do.

I never cared if you were “gay” or whatever acronym you chose to call yourself, until you started wanting special privileges.

I never cared what color your skin was, until you started blaming me for your problems.

I never cared about your political affiliation, until you started to condemn me for mine.

I never cared where you were from in this great Republic, until you began condemning people based on where they were born and the history that makes them who they are.

I have never cared if you were well off or poor, because I’ve been both, until you started calling me names for working hard to make a better life for myself.

I’ve never cared if your beliefs are different than mine, until you said my beliefs are wrong.

I’ve never cared if you didn’t like guns, until you tried to take my guns away.

Now, I care!

I’ve given all the tolerance I have to give. This is no longer my problem, it’s your problem. You can still fix it, it’s not too late, but it needs to be soon.

I’m a very patient person. But I’m running out of patience. There are literally Tens of Millions of people just like me that are sick of all the Anti-American crap!

I’ve always cared about life, and all lives, but now you try to force the notion on me and other fellow citizens and patriots that certain lives matter more than others. You protest, riot, attack, burn, and loot. Your so-called “movement” has become a radical out-of-control bunch of thugs, criminals, and anarchists who are intent on destroying our Country.

The masses have had enough! America is the greatest country on Earth, and if you don’t like America then we invite you to leave. We are done caring about your misguided “feelings.”

You don’t have the right to enjoy American freedoms if you are trying to take that right away from me or other Americans.

(H/T Legally Sufficient)

The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“I didn’t even think it through. Everybody in my life thought I was insane, and I probably was at that point, but I could not let her be separated from them.” Nurse Katrina Mullen

Quote II

"I have colleagues, professors who are terrified of publishing papers, of giving lectures, of sharing their views, for fear of being fired, canceled, shamed. It is really horrific. Many of them are just speaking the truth." Ayaan Hirsi Ali

Quote III

‘We’re going to do everything we can to help guide people, get them the information they need to get out safely. But it is not safe right now for another evacuation attempt. That would put Americans in more danger, not less,’ White House co-spokesperson John Kirby

They were fired and didn't take it lying down. Chicago workers who refused the Kung Flu prick get the last laugh.

A judge has dropped the hammer on Chicago officials by ruling that all city workers who were fired for refusing to get vaccinated for Covid must be reinstated.

Administrative Law Judge Anna Hamburg-Gal also ordered the city to compensate the fired workers for lost wages and benefits.

The judge ruled that Democrat-led Chicago violated the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act by enforcing a vaccine mandate on city employees.

Finally union workers get their money's worth from their union dues.

Legal shmegal, to this junta laws are for us deplorables to follow.

Previously, I wrote about new rules on mortgage rates in which the better your credit score, the higher your effective interest rates. This is an update...

New Rule: The Better Your Credit Score the Higher Your Mortgage Rate
Please consider New Rule: The Better Your Credit Score the Higher Your Mortgage Rate

Under the new rules, high-credit buyers with scores ranging from 680 to above 780 will see a spike in their mortgage costs – with applicants who place 15% to 20% down payment experiencing the biggest increase in fees.

The guy had two choices: 1) stop relieving himself and duck or 2) continue to relieve himself and take it in the face. He couldn't decide so he died on the horns of a dilemma.

She said today: 'From now on ... I want both of your clients at every hearing I conduct. I will no longer allow us to excuse clients because it is interfering with the progress of litigation, which is taking way too long to get over simple points.'

MM, embrace the power of "and".
How do you think the cheaters knew how many illegal ballots to print? It was the voting machines reporting to a central command via the internet in real time.
During the night of the election, there was a person on Twitter that was showing it happening in real time. I watched it happen, late in the night here on the West Coast. About three days later, that Twitter account was deleted. It showed the IP addresses the voting machines were reporting to.
A few weeks after that, I gave up any hope for a nation that has honest voting. But hey, there are always good steaks and either red wine or bourbon, depending on the night.

You've given a voice to many of us that are dissident thinkers on what most of society would call a "legitimate platform".

The most important line you crossed was recently when you acknowledged publicly that this is not a political war we are in, it's truly a spiritual war of good and evil. I hope many will follow your call to prayer.

I am a Christian, but confess I do not routinely pray for this country's future, but your simple, self-deprecating call to prayer inspires me to remember that the Lord can and will defeat any enemy He chooses at any time He chooses.

In any event, you probably don't read AoS, so I'm probably wasting words, but on the off chance you do, thank you buddy. You are a bold voice in a time of darkness. Best to you and your family.

The FUSA currently has none of those things. We do have a bunch of warlords running their own operations that may or may not align with other warlords running roughshod over We The People.

299 To the extent that propaganda is based on current news, it cannot permit time for thought or reflection. A man caught up in the news must remain on the surface of the event; he is carried along in the current, and can at no time take a respite to judge and appreciate; he can never stop to reflect. There is never any awareness -- of himself, of his condition, of his society -- for the man who lives by current events.
This situation makes the "current-events man" a ready target for propaganda. Indeed, such a man is highly sensitive to the influence of present-day currents; lacking landmarks, he follows all currents. He is unstable because he runs after what happened today; he relates to the event, and therefore cannot resist any impulse coming from that event. Because he is immersed in current affairs, this man has a psychological weakness that puts him at the mercy of the propagandist.
The news event may be a real fact, existing objectively, or it may be only an item of information, the dissemination of a supposed fact. What makes it news is its dissemination, not its objective reality.

Having watched both, I'd say Generations is the most true to the series while being an okay movie. First Contact is a good movie while being an okay representation of the series. Both look freakin' great on the new Blu-ray (I got the 4K/Blu-ray combo packs but I don't have a 4K player or TV).

315 First Little League game of the season on the books with a win. Little flounder played catcher, pitcher (first appearance), and first.

Two errors (one as first, one as pitcher, both tough ground balls between fielders), and two bases on balls and one strikeout for at bats.

In his initial closing appearance, he let two runs go in two innings - mostly fielding errors with successive overthrows - and he struck out five, IIRC.

Not too bad, considering he's play with older kids this year. But he works his tail off, and I am very proud.

340 "Jessica" by the Allman Brothers, is one of the all time best tunes for putting many miles in the rearview mirror.

And there's a very tight correlation between the original query about "songs with women's names as titles", and the olde arte of making up a mix-tape of exactly such, and stacking the tracks to play uninterrupted for hundreds of miles at a time.

I think I could have any "rap" addict as near to fully converted as could be, with a day's drive out an d a day's drive back, with the right tunes in the player.

The kind of music that can move one's soul, is also the kind of music that can change one's mind.

And fairly sure South Sudan did in fact become a country. Some break-away regions with legit gripes are more equal than others, it would appear.

Submitting any notifications referencing the War Powers Act is stupid and indulges unconstitutional kabuki most administrations have rightly declined. But that's a quibble and a footnote.

Oh, I got my new pressure tank in at the folks' well today. Guess what, pressure tanks have more than doubled in price thanks to Brandon. Pumps too and everything. Some pumps have more than tripled.

The old tank was boogerish looking when we got it out. The bottom water side was very thin -- could've just wrung the discharge fitting off, it was so thin. Rust, obviously.

That gave me pause remembering how I discharged and pumped it back up again. Glad I didn't trust the pressure gauge on the water line, and used a good tire gauge on the charge port.

So that explains the ultimate cause of the diaphragm failure. Rust over the years. Many moons ago, it was put in.

Without Mare Island Naval Shipyard, and the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, we're right fucked on the prospect of floating new hulls in any respectable numbers.

Bath in Maine. Are they still producing? I know they ended the traditional "ways" platform for building and launching, but have they adopted the (ugly) sideways plonk and roll into the river?

Pascagoula makes Aegis and other ships. Electric Boat (GE) makes subs in CT. Norfolk builds Carriers. But we've got no Higgins Boats in New Orleans. Houston n' Galveston aren't making anything USN as they did in WWII. Long Beach Naval Shipyard is Long Gone, too.

And Britain is more fucked than even us.

I'm new to NHL playoff hockey, it's like nothing else. Watching the game, the adrenaline catches up quick and as a fan, I find myself breathless.

Of course, paying $400 for a get-in ticket means I'll be watching on TV. Good thing about that is they show any play of merit four or five times in slo-mo. Quite a show.

457 I just watched the 60 minutes segment of poor old innocent Ray Epps. Pathetic.

Andy Rooney was better by just saying 'you know what I don't like?' in days gone by. Admittedly, I haven't watched any segment of that show in 20 years or more, but if there was an attempt at the conspiratorial narrative they missed by a mile. Then again the cynic I am finds all this breaking/boom/justin/blockbuster nonsense just that -- nonsense.

The question is for bigK (Mr Speaker) and we get no answer from the big guy himself. Where are the tapes? Let's see all of it. No redactions, etc.

Has Leslie Stahl issued an apology to President Trump yet on the laptop "we can't verify that..."?
    No?

As for a girl titled song, Hendrix' Izabella came to mind only for the lyrical content. I tried to locate a version that sounds like the one I had on some after death published lp. Crash Landing or something. Anyway, it was a very cleaned up version relative to those one can find on yt.

Newport News is still active. Navy ships built were towed over to Norfolk Naval Shipyard to be refitted with war rooms, etc.

Philadelphia Naval Shipyard was involved in SLEP, the ship life extension program. Old was made new again with the ex-Saratoga being the work. training (aircraft) carrier. There's still ships in Inactive Fleet in Philly &, separately, a private shipyard that just got a fed contract for a few boats.

Glad to know there's a 'yard there, that'll still see them right.

No substitute though, for the actual Philadelphia Naval Shipyards, when it's all said and done.

Hell, we don't even have the mills or forges to crank out the armor torpedo belts or gun barrel blanks for sixteen inch Naval Rifles. Sold all that to Japan, in the '70s.

Jim, while true, the comparison you're trying to make is not . . . fair. Dropping those two nukes versus the expected death toll (both Japanese and US) from an invasion was a good thing, no matter the party of the president. Around 225,000 were killed by both bombs while an estimated 5 million Japanese would die if the US invaded the Home Islands, with around a million US casualties (KIA and wounded) expected. Okinawa proved it was going to a bloodbath of a slug fest invading Japan proper.

But I will say Dems always fuck up winning a war by losing because of politics and hating America. But mostly hating America.

Re Okinawa: I was privileged to know an old character around here, "Ol' Red". I've told the story here before, I think, so short recap.

He fought on Okinawa. There are those who clam up and don't tell about what they experienced. Knew some of those types of WWII vets in my childhood. Ol' Red was one who told it just like it was. He told of all the horror and gore he saw. Some of his stories would curdle your blood.

Talk about "depths of human degradation". He survived that horror show, I concluded, because he "gave up", didn't give a shit any more. He no longer feared getting killed, but he wanted to stick around just long enough to kill one more Jap. He had watched his buddies die horribly, in agony. It was payback time.

One really haunting story I remember. Me, a young punk teenager, and some other punk kids were down at "The Store", a hangout where my father and his buds, including Ol' Red would congregate an hold court.

We, young punks, made fun of somebody who cried. I said something about, "Little pussy cried for his Mama!" haha.

That made Ol' Red fighting mad. He then proceeded to tell an Okinawa story. A young kid friend of his was blown to bits, literally disemboweled. His entrails were hanging off him. Ol' Red did an impression of that boy's last words.

He cried for his mother. I remember that well. Blood Curdling. He said he whip all our asses if we ever talked like that again.

Then she said he'd kill us if we ever told "any mother" that story. Said no woman needs to even think about her son dying, and crying out for her.

That shit made an impression on young Publius. Big Time.

You've described the Philippine Steward who served aboard my late Dad's USS Snook, in the mid/late '70s.

He'd tell all the tales, and not spare one gory detail. Man, woman, boy, girl, he's tell it all, and all the same.

Hell, *I* will not even tell some of his tales, here. But a severed Jap head, soaked in pitch and set alight, was not an unusual sight to burn atop the fenders and headlights of various USMC and US Army armor set out to prowl the island.

Red told the "shrunken Jap heads" story. They did that. Made shrunken heads out of dead enemy.

One that really got to him -- I could see the pain in his eyes -- was the "mowing down Geisha girls" story. The Japanese would wire women, "Geisha girls" as Red called them with explosives. They were sent in a group of Americans to blow them up.

So, if any such Geisha girls approached, his orders were to kill them. He did. That really got to him.

Re the shrunken heads. I'll try to be as elliptical as possible. Red, on Okinawa was sort of still green. He smelled "something cooking". He saw a big pot. He went to see what it was. Well, he saw what it was.

He puked his fucking guts out. The "cooks", battle hardened soldiers, just laughed.

Within a week, ol' Red was a seasoned "cook".

Stories like that, I'm sure the Military wants to be forgotten. But it happened. And yep, such needs to be preserved. Because that's what Total War is. Utter human degradation.

494 (Re: Ray Epps story on Quick Hits thread)

The idea that just calling something a "conspiracy theory" makes it inherently dubious is an idea that was pioneered in the late Soviet Union as a means to handily discredit and dismiss any allegation of corruption or crimes by the State. It worked so well they exported it everywhere else.

EVERYONE believes in hundreds, maybe thousands of criminal conspiracies. Yes, you do too.

They're called mafias. And they have no problem with hundreds, even thousands of people all keeping a secret. It's called Omerta. And the concept works just as well for conspiracies within the government as it does for Italian bosses. Infinitely better and easier, actually, cause the Italian bosses are just paying off the cops, the government conspiracy *is* the cops.

The event coordinator promised that would be done. Gradually during the afternoon those safeguards were broken and someone was almost shot and killed. They blamed the archery coordinator, he went along with it because he wanted to save the archery event and not create drama. A year later no one will in the area will let him run an archery event.
