This my fellow Morons is a brand new 12 volt water pump in the original package it came in. This pump was purchased from A*^#@!

Do you notice anything missing? Let us take a closer look at the pump itself.

Millions of people live off the grid through no choice of their own. Yet your humble Cob and the lovely Fabulous Mrs. Mis. Hum. own vacation property off the grid.

Always striving to make Camp Misanthrope a better and more modern "Get-A-Way" I have an upcoming DIY project dealing with water and 12 volt power. After conducting research right here at Casa Misanthrope using the internet I decided to purchase the pump you see in Photo 1. Sitting at my dining room table and shopping rough I know.

The online description said that the pump would come with 3 parts and Instructions. Our regular UPS driver dropped the package off on Thursday. He walked right up to the front door and handed the package to the Fabulous.

I opened the package and looked at the pump which I purchased. As you can see from Photo 2 the pump says I should follow instructions. However Photo 1 should have gave it away that there were no Instructions in the box.

Fortunately I have installed a couple of 12 volt water pumps over the years at the cabin as well as various boats. So I'm not completely in the dark about installation.

Looking at the website of the company which produces this pump did not reveal an Instruction Manual that I could download.

When the snow melts and we can access the cabin I'll be able to perform the DIY project with my new 12 volt pump. And life at Camp Misanthrope will be a little bit more luxurious. We'll be living the high life with our First World Problems.

I think the warm, fuzzy and lovable CBD will be back next Sunday.

4 My problem was my tractor battery has been done more than a year, so this year needing to do the lawn before it got out of control did as been jump started it. But being tired after a long day crossed the cable streams. In ensuing problem found the cable connection was all but severed but being my grandfather's offspring found the perfect part to reconnect that. But still had ti find the fuses but did and is all back in operation.

40 Loved the opera singing guy at the pizza place. Two of my favorite feel good videos are flash mobs by the Opera Company of Philadelphia. (Obviously from several years ago.) One is from Reading Terminal Market and they sing the drinking song from "La Traviata," my favorite bit of opera music.

The other is even better. They sing the Hallelujah Chorus at Macy's at Christmastime. The cool part how many shoppers join in. Macy's is the old Wannamaker's department store which has a famously enormous organ that backs up the opera company. It's a pretty overwhelming thing to hear.

That is an almost word-for-word recap of the cattle mutilation panic from 40-odd years ago. Which was eventually proven to be a nothingburger. Cows die suddenly, out on the range. Disease, lightning strike, who knows? Dead cows bloat, tongue protrudes, so does anus and genitalia. Buzzards or other scavengers, seeking easy, tender pickings, eat those parts first, leaving a circular wound. No blood, because critter many hours dead already.

Glad that's all it was. My vehicle was diagnosed similarly and no gas cap on the planet would cause the light to go out. Unfortunately for me, it would appear to be a much more deep-seated emissions issue. Pisses me off. The vehicle runs fine. Guess I'll need to shell out who knows how many hundies before the next MANDATORY e-check, to save the planet.

Santa Fe had that problem. Replaced cap, nope. Replaced cap with OEM cap, nope. Took it to shop. They said it is usually a sensor under the back seat, okay. Nope it wasn't just the sensor there was a failed solenoid as well. Problem solved!
Until today (about 3 weeks)... Different code; but, the new code says "loose fuel cap". DOH!

Check Engine light comes on. I stop at Auto Zone. They run the code. Amazingly, it came back that it was the fuel cap.

Somewhere in the Evap Emissions Control system there will be a small pump that tries to pull a vacuum on the whole system. In some cases the "pump" may be just intake manifold vacuum. If there is a leak, and it cannot pull (and hold for X time) a vacuum, a vacuum-sensor switch sends a "fail" code to the ECM. If the vacuum pump itself fails, you get the "fail" code. Or if any of the hoses and plastic fittings or canister cracks.

106 Okay, here's my first world problem: The oil cap in the engine no longer wants to come off. I can unscrew it to the point where it should come off. But there's no way to get it to come off. Last time I had to put in gas, a kind man stopped to help me. He had to take the actual drain piece off to unscrew it. I am reluctant to do that as I'm not sure I could put it back on.

Any idea for a fix? New oil cap?

Most oil caps are pretty simple doodads... Just one-piece cap with a gasket. Once the little protuberances are lined up with the notches in the hole, it should pop off. I'm guessing it's stuck because some oil residue polymerized and adhered the gasket to the valve cover. Might just take some gentle prying.

Bought a can of fuel injector cleaner, and dumped it in the tank. Also bought a new thermostat and gasket, and a set of spark plugs. Too hot to work on right now, so parked in the drive with the hood up. First.World.Problem.
