Welcome To Portland, the Third-World Sh!thole City of Your Democrat-BLM Future

Portland's a worse sh!thole than you probably imagine.

David Strom has a piece about being shocked to see just how bad Portland has gotten, thanks to a dispiriting education from a Twitter account called @wtfPortland.

Here's a typical night in Portland. Watch all the way through.

Criminals act as if they own the streets. They do own the streets.

I'm guessing the old white guy here is a homeless drug addict and started this by pushing one of the black women, but whoever's at fault: This is lawless anarchy and chaos. With no cops, every man and women becomes his own judge, jury, and executioner.

Graphic photo of a leg mauled by a homeless man's dog. "THE HOMELESS CRISIS IS OUT OF CONTROL!," the poster writes. Instagram deleted the photo, because obviously all facts that damage the Woke Agenda are "disinformation."

Someone -- I have my suspicions which groups they're affiliated with (hint: one possibility is just an "idea" and has a name that rhymes with "pantyfa") -- went around driving nails through every single tire of every single car parked on this street.

This is fine:

portlandoverdoses.jpg

More below.

Not clear at all what this is, but this person should probably be confined for its own safety.

Below, fent means fentanyl, of course:

based.jpg

Nothing says "Major City in a First World Country" like highway fires. Also a sign that you're living in an advanced civilization: weekly bridge fires.

Oh, and of course: car fires.

The account repeatedly links this local news channel's report about how Portland's scheme to decriminalize all drug use is going.

Meanwhile, the Oakland Athletics are Oakland's last major sports franchise. All the rest have fled.

Or they were Oakland's last franchise. Now they're fleeing too, for Las Vegas.

30 The murder rate has skyrocketed as well.

One of the main problems is that Oregon legalized nearly every kind of drug for personal use. If you're caught with 10 kilos of cocaine, you're going to prison but if you have an 8 ball, eh. Knock yourself out.

So druggies of all sorts are moving into Portland especially (but also Eugene and Salem), and crime rates, violence, trash, filth, and destruction are rising rapidly.

Portland used to be a safe beautiful, pleasant, and fun place to visit. Even to live in. Even the worst parts of town weren't that bad. Today its a nightmare filled with filth and trash. And the leftists are celebrating.

Not very progressive.

I have mentioned this before, but I have a friend who lives in Portland. Not downtown, but Portland proper. A few years back we were chatting and she mentioned the "houselessness problem" in Portland. The problem, of course, was due to housing affordability and that, in turn was caused by property speculators who sit on empty apartments rather than those apartments being used to help the "houseless." That word. Never "homeless," but "houseless."

It's a perfect - albeit insane - redirection. Street people are almost never street people because of housing costs or availability. Those homeless people are hidden - living in their cars/campers or crashing on a buddy's couch. Vagrancy is a different problem, and it almost always ties back to mental illness or drugs (or often both, as those two can feed each-other nicely).

But nope. "Houselessness."

And they are usually temporary: they take advantage of programs, loans, grants, etc and get out of their position within months.

Street people are usually low end insanity types (talking to themselves, seeing visions, heavy autism, etc) or drug addicts and/or alcoholics. These are people who often do not WANT a home, and flee from it if they are put into housing. They are a severe problem that used to be handled by insane asylums, prisons, and other similar utilities.

Then the supreme court decided its better for them to die on the streets than live in an asylum.

Posted by: NCKate at April 21, 2023 02:57 PM (d5Qya)

118 11 ODs in one night.
- 3 confirmed deaths (27.3%)
- 5 pulled back by narcan (45.5%)
- 3 unknown outcome (27.3%)

So anywhere from 27.3$ - 54.6% of the ODs died, representing anywhere from 3-6 people.

Last year, Portland set a homicide record of 101 homicides. Per a Portland homicide tracker I found, March 31st had one homicide (don't know if it's accurate). Assuming a major increase in homicide this year, let's assume it will come in at, say, around 115 homicides. Let's make a further assumption - likely a very bad one - that March 31st was particularly bad and is more representative of an entire week's worth of ODs. That would mean anywhere from 156-312 OD deaths year in Portland. This implies that the OD deaths will outnumber homicides by at least a third.

Lots of assumptions in that, but even if it's way off, it's still pretty clear that way more people will die of OD than homicide this year. And the ruling party in Portland - and virtually every other major city in the union - strongly encourages both behaviors. Party of Love, yo!

162 Yes, and the ones escaping run across to Vancouver WA and bring their regular voting habits with them. And they find true love with Inslee, who is working as hard as he can to turn WA state into a sh**hole too.

And just so you know, as I don't think this is common in most parts of the country, it's not unusual to rent out rooms in a house. Which is what they are doing with the house I used to live in. I suspect it's illegal, but the neighbor across the street got away with it for years.

Denver - and by extension Colorado - got a huge reprieve in the mid-late 90s: the telecoms bubble burst. The inflow from the west coast reduced dramatically, and then the dot-com bust happened.

As tech recovered and wage costs in California skyrocketed, Denver became a major tech center. It already had a decent amount of expertise (thanks in part to the telecom and dot-com booms) and was much cheaper. It was also beautiful and had great regional amenities like skiing. The second Californian migration kicked off and this time it stuck. The state flipped in 2008 and went completely insane almost immediately, helped along in a big way by vast sums of leftist money to keep pushing hard and fast as the developed their migrate-fund-flip-fund-accelerate framework.

There is a non-facetious argument to be made that you can legalize the behavior itself (partaking of the substance) if you heavily criminalize the external behaviors due to that behavior (theft, harassment, vagrancy, whatever). If it goes anything like Denver, it will. In Denver, it radiated out to the west along the I-70 corridor, with vagrant encampments cropping up at major interchanges, then leaking north and south from there along the major surface streets. My interchange I used got a camp that was then rousted and emptied. It came back six months later, and this time it remained. The rot had seeped another 2 blocks north and south along the surface street within nine months as the camp grew. The camp was still right on the interchange, but the vagrants were polluting up the place and harassing normals a couple of blocks up and down by then.

Yes, and you find edibles are being consumed by kids, people with a sick sense of humor are putting it in shared dishes like potlucks, and dogs are getting poisoned by it. Then it is also has been bred to produce much more THC than the stuff in the 70's. In most cases involving drugs and medicine, the dose amount makes the poison and what doesn't kill you does not make you stronger.

Latest from Berenson about how Moderna lied on their clinical trial data:

https://tinyurl.com/28a7qdrn

In Feb 2021, they published a paper in a journal claiming no serious adverse events in the vaccine group. This was a lie.

By the time they finished the paper, there were about 7 serious adverse events (heart attack, miscarriage, etc). Before they unblinded and gave the placebo group the jabs, there were a total of 14 serious adverse events. There were 0 in the placebo group.

The FDA was well aware of this lying.

Public schools were closing because it was too expensive to raise kids, roads couldn't accommodate traffic because 'more roads mean more traffic' was the mantra.

I did appreciate the no bugs aspect though.

She is a very nice lady, but a reflexive prog who didn't hide it. She didn't lecture on politics all the time or anything, but she made her positions known.

Anyway, we were standing in a big reception room on the second floor of the hotel and looking out the window. Tents and vagrants lined the sidewalks below. She shook her head and said to me, "how did we let this happen?" I couldn't resist. I replied, "Have you considered which group has been charge of this decline and others like it for decades, and how you vote?"

She didn't yell. She didn't walk away. She didn't respond at all. Not even a tightening of the jaw. She looked more confused than anything else.

I did all my pot-smoking during the sinsemilla revolution in the late 70s-early 80s. The Mexican ditch weed I started off with was fine, the sinsemilla that the cartels began selling (for twice the price or more) was shattering. And 80s sinse is nothing compared to the stuff nowadays.

There's a reason that I quit smoking that crap a long long time ago.

Society has had thousands of years to develop mechanisms on discouraging alcohol consumption and yet massive consumption of it still causes problems in places like Russia to the extent it lowered their life expectancy by about a decade.

People that like to take drugs recreationally need though to recognize that it will cause additional negative externalities to the rest of us and as we veer into designer drugs--simply put, society has no effective remedy to avoid massive costs to society and others. It will increase crime of all sorts, it will increase negative effects on the community via consumption by children, and so on.

Essentially, like the Covid vaxx, it is running an uncontrolled experiment on a population to legalize something deadly like fetanyl. Even the scientists have no idea what long term fentanyl users may suffer because literally there is no data on it to extrapolate sufficiently.

Continued.

If you portray every urban rot and culturally destructive pattern as "authentically black" or "minority" then people are going to necessarily conclude that minorities are awful and adhere to destructive, insane patterns.

Hint: THEY DO NOT. I have to say it again, the majority of black people are middle class. Many are very wealthy. They do not live in ghettos, drink Purple Drank, shoot their gun siddways at a bus full of kids trying to kill a gang rival, or rob people at ATMs. They are not out huffing paint fumes to get high, they do not use fantanyl.

But that's ALL WE HEAR. That's all the media gives us. For every Pursuit of Happyness movie we get 147 Gangasta movies. Its deliberate.

Break up CA and at least half those senators will be conservative. CA's problems stem from it's size. Once you break it up into smaller states which aren't all dominated by LA and SF, you'll see improved governance and a change in policies.

381 Continuation.

From what I do, I recognize the enormous compliance costs on society from for example marijuana laws on everything from circumventing rights, asset forfeiture examples, and legal process costs. But, I also recognize that if you legalize it, you will get more people dead from driving while doped which a lot of people like doing, working while doped, etc. and many of the drugs now being consumed are very difficult to detect unless you know what you are looking for.

Basically, you short circuit parts of your brain machinery while under the influence of any drug including alcohol but ask any cop--determining under the influence of alcohol is far easier to determine than someone doped up. LSD for example used to require a spinal tap to confirm it (may still, I do not know). So, someone like you, with probably limited consumption habits and common sense are applying your standards in taking drugs to a massive number of others that lack that ability to limit consumption and/or lack common sense.

Essentially then you socialize the costs but privatize the benefits.

392 The concern I have with weed being legal in Oregon is that a HUGE NUMBER of people are taking edible and smoking ganja, since its legal. And a lot of them are teenagers.

Its pretty well demonstrated medically that pot screws up your brain as a developing kid. I saw it in real time with friends and family. But also, weed reduces productivity and motivation, it saps ambition, it slows reaction times. And that's bad for all society and all of us, everywhere. Weed makes you time travel: you get stoned and then sober up and wonder where the day went, because you climb off the couch covered in Uber Eats delivery wrappers and eyes aching from watching cartoon network all day.

When the drugs were illegal, normies didn't use much and the damage was restricted to people who were more or less social dead weight anyway. Now?

When you're running some illegal substance like this, the game becomes to make it more and more concentrated. Basically, density, less volume for more of the illegal goody you're running.

I remember reading years ago how this more concentrated booze made more alcoholics. They would guzzle the high proof stuff. Women alcoholics were a rare thing before Prohibition, but after that, you got a bunch.

Some drugs are relatively trivial to make actually and of course then you would get people arguing that the drugs they made were for personal consumption when they actually intend to sell them. Then you have to have possession amounts and that starts the whole ball of wax on compliance legislation started.

I find it somewhat amusing that no fountain of wealth came from legal marijuana shops--in part because illegal is cheaper and marijuana is called weed because essentially it is easy to grow. There is not a good way to distinguish hemp growth from marijuana either. So people buy illegal dope or raise their own denying the state revenue.

His response was; they want your work but their people are not reliable. Young people don't want to do the hard work for the good pay. They want to be paid what the boss of 30 years experience gets, and they just stop showing up to work. They want to stay home, play video games, go on Only Fans and get 100 grand a month, do Youtube and Tik Tok stuff and get paid for that, instead of labor. 449 Can we have true people’s social justice and equity and give all the Tracy’s and queers and Valvoline’s all the free drugs they want?

Can we remove all the police and let all these Antifa and BLM types let their frustrations out on all their enemies and listen to those voices in their heads and allow all those social workers to deal with them. And let all those trust fund babies deal with them and share their homes with them?

I know that Obama will be happy to share with them and the Soros and Biden’s too.
