Young Turks idiot Ana Kasparian promoted the hell out of Rebekah Jones' lunatic claims about Ron DeSantis "kidnapping" her son. What actually happened is that Jones' equally-mentally-ill son openly threatened to shoot up his school and was arrested for those threats by Tallahassee police, and none of this had a thing to do with DeSantis.

But Jones has been serially lying about DeSantis for years now, and making a career of it. She previously claimed that DeSantis was hiding all the covid deaths in Florida, and she claimed she was fired for exposing this truth. In fact, she was making it up and she was fired for being insubordinate and incompetent.

But she did raise a lot of money from lefties on GoFundMe for these lies.

And then after claiming DeSantis had "kidnapped" her son, she went right to GoFundMe to raise money for, I guess, ransoming her kidnapped son back from the Cartel Boss Ron DeSantis.

GoFundMe hasn't blocked her from raising funds, of course.

Ana Kasparian promoted these lies without doing any fact-checking, all due to her political bias against DeSantis.

That's not me saying that -- Ana Kasparian herself said that.

But she has one excuse she can make for herself -- she was relying on "mainstream" media claims about Jones, and the "mainstream" media also makes these kind of politically-motivated "mistakes" all the time due to their own biases.

Again, she says all this.

She also adds that Rebekah Jones just might be a "grifter."

Really? Do tell!

Oh, she suddenly realized Crime Is Bad when she was mugged by a mentally-ill homeless person who the state refused to keep in jail despite a long history of criminality.

The Podcast of the Lotus Eaters gave their video about all this the title, "Ana Is No Longer 4 (Years Old)," congratulating her on her first days in kindergarten.

One little example of why I like living here:
My street is bustling. Lots of people always out for walks, jogs, to chat with neighbors, etc. One of my neighbors noticed that a lot of people would forget bags to clean up after their dogs when out for their walks, or would have to carry their poop bags a long distance. What did he do? He put up an attractive metal post at the edge of his yard that has a trash can and a roll of poop bags in it. It helps keep things clean and my dog-walking neighbors freaking love him for it.

I don't think it's a left/right thing.

I realize there are many on the right who want it to be, but there's tons of evidence it's not. It a people vs. government thing, and it's a much graver risk than most seem to want to acknowledge.

At this point I don't really care who anybody votes for, or where they stand on the majority of issues, because the tyrants are coming for us all. I guess we can argue about gay marriage in the gulags if we want, but that seems rather beside the point to me.

They don't come up with anything unique because they have no creativity or talent. All they can do is try to co-opt and twist the creative work of others into what they want it to be.

What they want it to be is just another thing that ticks all of the boxes for their political cause, because what they want the most is affirmation that their stupidity, that they know to be stupid, is right just and true.

Studios no longer understand what their business is and are like the third generation heir to the millions who spends it on mystics and crazy houses with stairways that don't go anywhere.

...actually that's probably unfair. I think the Winchester Lady was pretty smart and just needed reasons to keep people around and to keep herself busy to drive off grifters who wanted her money.

Probably would not buy one, but we've had a couple of Prius rentals. Nice, comfortable, nicely peppy when climbing a hill. And we only filled up once (aside from topping off before turning it in). Drove all over the Oregon and Washington Coast with it.

Hybrid good. EV bad.
