Good morning, kids. So, Biden's in Ireland and with any luck the Protestants and Catholics will be bombing, shooting and stabbing each other just like old times. At least there, both sides can go at it with no sense of restraint. Not so much here where it's less a civil war than it is a massive, overwhelmingly one-sided state-sponsored pogrom. Against us.

And speaking of old times, the Democrats have announced where they will be holding their bund meeting/national convention. Chicago. How absolutely perfect. The irony of course is 55 years ago, the Marxist radicals were outside the convention center, attempting to break in and foment a violent revolution to overthrow the country. Little did we know back then that they'd succeed, since the unwashed hippie SDS crowd essentially populates much of the government and, more dangerously, have populated virtually all of American academia since not long after that long hot summer.

One could argue that D.C. would be a more fitting place to hold the convention, since it is the epicenter of the totalitarian bureaucracy/technocracy that lords over us. But considering everything about Chicago epitomizes the abject failure of Leftist regressive-progressivism, it is the clear winner. You really want fitting? The voters got rid of Lori Lightfoot, who gleefully presided over the turning over of the streets to thugs, rapists and murderers, and replaced her with Brandon Johnson, a guy who will make her look like Rudy Giuliani in comparison.

As Albert Einstein IIRC once famously stated, "The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result." Well, quite a few individuals from blue shit holes across the country have seemingly had enough and are fleeing for redder, i.e. saner and safer, territories in record number. In years past, these people would sadly take their voting habits with them and succeed in recreating within a few election cycles the hell from which they originally fled, leading Mark "Old Yeller" Levin to accurately label them "locusts." Yet judging from places like Texas and especially Florida, perhaps that might not be as significant phenomenon as it once was. We'll have to wait and see.

And that brings us to Tennessee, where much like the summer of 1968 – which nearly turned into the summer of 2020 – the thug scumbags who were expelled after attempting to lead an insurrection in the statehouse were reinstated by the Nashville city council.

So evidently, a leftist city council can override the will of the people of the state. Well, that is the Amerikkkan way in 2023 evidently. Something's afoot my friends.

Why would radical Democrats want to move to a state like Tennessee?
One answer: To kick out the Republican majority on voter rolls, city councils and the state legislature.
Tennessee’s big cities—Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville—already host Democrat majorities. That’s because cities tend to attract Democrats – along with crime, poverty, drugs, homelessness, and out of control demonstrations and riots when a perceived social injustice occurs.
Big Democrat cities also attract what leftists call “good trouble” community activism, meaning activism with a blunt edge, like grabbing a bullhorn from a speaker or breaking the rules of protocol when attempting to voice an opinion about a topic like gun violence.
The two Democrat state legislators, Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, expelled by the Republican led House in Tennessee for their behavior during a gun control protest in the capitol building, might be described as Obama Ideology Kids (OIK) whose activism went viral around the time of the 2020 Floyd riots. . .
. . . In videos of the gun protest, Johnson, an imposing white woman with big hair, can be seen walking with Jones and Pearson through the Tennessee capitol building after joining the protesters, their arms linked and raised in the air in a kind of radical salute, because, as Johnson stated, “We are on the right side of history.”
That ‘side’, of course, being the one that does not follow parliamentary protocol and thinks nothing of approaching the podium in the capitol without being recognized to speak, a clear breach of chamber rules.
With a bullhorn, the so-called “Tennessee Three,’ as the Left now labels them in a nod to iconic 1960s’ revolutionaries, led protestors in the galleries in several chants like “Power to the People!” while calling for gun reform.
This highly theatrical moment, like a film trailer of the tumultuous Sixties, came close to causing an actual riot given the hatred expressed by the protesters as they surrounded and lashed out at Republican legislators while the latter left the capitol building. Videos of the protest show an angry crowd on the verge of breaking through to the other side, to use another Sixties reference.
So yes, the ‘Tennessee Three’ had succeeded in working the protesters into an emotional frenzy. In effect, the three had become insurrectionist cheerleaders, as television cameras rolled, and as the three almost certainly realized that they stood on the brink of Democrat Woke Celebrity-Hood.

It will be interesting to see what transpires in August 2024 in Chicago, like delegates and lower level pols who do not have security details involuntarily surrendering "reparations" or worse if you catch my drift. Comedy gold schadenfreude. But that's not really where the action is. It's in these red statehouses where unfortunately blue shit-hole cites and cancer like these three pieces of diseased excrement can effectively overthrow the will of the people.

We often talk about the local level and the states as being really where the battle will be fought. Well, here it is folks. Will the TN state GOP stand up to this thuggery? We've seen other states' GOPers collapse faster than a wet taco. Between the threat of molotov cocktails and heaven forfend, being labelled "racist!," I am not filled with strength and confidence.

Forget northern Ireland. We've got "troubles" of our own right here and now.

119 Tennessee is going to be an interesting case. It's a hugely popular migration target for various reasons. It's low-tax, the state government isn't too invasive, there's massive economic opportunity (especially in the eastern part of the state), it's sane, it's beautiful.

The great question of whether the new arrivals are colonists or refugees will be answered over the next five years. There are some things working in favor of Tennessee, one of which is its age. Unlike out west, Tennessee is a pretty old place and as a result it's pretty thickly settled. It isn't like Colorado where there's one megacity that dictates the state direction and all the Left has to do is flip one city. There are a fair number of checks and balances in TN state government, too.

Fingers crossed. With all the population inflow, especially from the mid-Atlantic, TN might just be the next major state to fall in the colonization wave.

Not sure why people are concerned about the shift of population from blue to red states. One only has to look at Florida. Florida's population is growing mostly by an influx of people fleeing blue states, yet Florida is no longer a swing State in national elections like it used to be. It's solid red now and getting redder by the day.

Texas is doing the same thing but it was not a swing state. The people fleeing blue states for the most part are not bringing blue state voting habits with them.

East TN won't be "hillbilly" much longer. There's an industrial renaissance happening in this country, and E. TN is one of its capitals. That will continue unless the TVA fucks it all up.

But the "Three States of Tennessee" is a real thing, and is reflected in state law. The composition of the supreme court and state houses take it into account. That might help with colonization resistance. There are also, as you pointed out, three musical traditions. Bluegrass (East), Country/Western (Middle), Rock and Blues (Memphis).

Of all the parts of TN that worry me, Nashville tops the list. Nashville is very hip. People moving to E TN are largely moving there for work. A ton of people who pick Nashville do so because it's *cool* - kinda like Austin and Asheville...

This is TJM's position, and we'll see. I have lived through the hell of colonization by progs from California, which ruined vast tracts of the Interior West. Was that different from we're seeing now in the East from the Mid-Atlantic and in Texas from everywhere? Don't know. I hope so. People had moved on. Yeah, they had liked Schlitz but, you know, one American style lager is pretty dang close to another. And they found others that they liked.
This will esp. be true of near flavorless water like Bud Light.

No, Bud won't go bankrupt. Schlitz is still around. But, like Schlitz, Bud will be much much reduced.

There's a sandwich shop called New York Sub-Hub (Used to be NY Subway, but got sued by Subway sandwiches and changed the name) that has the typical NYC theme inside. There's a poster on the wall from the 70's or 80's of a typical day in NYC. Kind of a cartoonish style, but has all sorts of debauchery afoot with crime, flashers, taxis, etc.

312 In the continuing saga of Trying to Copy Photos from LG Phone to Samsung, I downloaded and installed the Smart Switch app on my computer and plugged the Samsung in. The computer recognizes it, and I was able to get my ringtone sound file in place on the phone.

However, though the USB cable I have charges the old phone, the computer doesn't recognize the old phone, and in fact the old phone says "USB not connected" no matter which computer port I use. Perhaps I need a newer cable?

I've tried downloading the Samsung Wi-Fi File Transfer app in an attempt to do this using Wi-Fi, but the old phone says it can't install the app. My Wi-Fi here at work is notoriously crappy -- so I can try it at home. If I can move the photos I want from the old phone to the PC, I can then place them on the new phone. But it's getting them from the old phone that's the problem.

My guess is that her and her team came up with this idea. The team is probably made up of younger people who are more in tune with social influencers and such.

The fact is, there isn't a person in any of these departments to say no to an idea like this. However, it did remind me of a recent shopping experience. Popped into a nearby mini-Target (I know) where they had one checkout counter manned - it was the Customer Service counter (online order pickups, returns, etc.). The rest of us were doing self-checkout while a security guard and a Target employee stood there at the end and watched us like hawks. It was depressing, being made to work while they stood and watched us as if we were criminals.

Cut the DoJ budget by 75% to start. Hell, cut it by 100% so you have something to negotiate over. Send a budget with no funding for a handful of agencies. Gut the DoJ and the CDC and the Department of Education for starters. When the bill gets rejected, "negotiate" by funding them at 25% of current levels. When that gets rejected, hold firm. Shut down the government. Do not yield until they collect big, valuable, scalps.

Put up or shut up. The problem I have with all this noise from Republican "leadership" isn't that the words are wrong, it's that action never comes. Until they demonstrate that they will actually *do* something, I view their loud noises with contempt.

The other thing you can do is join your wifi network with the phone,, and download something like a file manager (Es file explorer was good before but kind of sucks now) where you can browse to a shared folder on your network (shared from your computer). Then copy the files over the air to that folder.

I haven't read the law, but it probably states that the "local government" appoints the successor. For this rep, his entire district is in Nashville. In less-dense parts of the state, it probably (though again, I don't know) means that all local governments in the district have to appoint the successor.

It takes a moment to read the chips on the cards, encrypt them, send them down the wire to a digital clearinghouse, validate and run the attempted transaction through a KYC algorithm, then return Go/No-Go. In the meantime, the machines are instructed to secure the card in place if it is on the hot-list.

You are hoping for hundreds of companies to go out of business... the American auto companies and all the suppliers which work with those auto companies. You are hoping for hundreds of thousands (millions?) of Americans to be unemployed. Management, engineers, designers, plant workers.

Wonderful sentiment. Glad to know you hope I and all my colleagues become unemployed. As well as who knows how many others across the country due to DEI, CEI policies and industry-crippling government regulations. The very thing these tyrannical government imposed policies and regulations are designed to do -- end the auto industry -- is what you are hoping will happen. Brilliant.

Maybe, but what is the generational breakdown of those demographics? "White/Black" does not necessarily mean "Republican/Democrat" or "Conservative/Marxist".

Boomer and Gen-X Whites are majority Republican/Conservative, but Millennial/Gen-Z Whites are majority Democrat/Marxist.

Just look at the transformation of the country music industry in Nashville from generally conservative to now almost completely woke/Marxist.

I would not be so sure about Texas. The Left has been making big inroads in Presidential vote results in Texas since 2000. If this trend continues, the Left will flip Texas within next 2-3 Presidential elections. Especially with illegal alien voters.

2000: R +1.3 mil (+22%)
2004: R +1.7mil (+23%)
2008: R +950k (+12%)
2012: R +1.2mil (+16%)
2016: R +807k (+9%)
2020: R +631k (+6%)
