Nashville City Council Votes to Immediately Reinstate Expelled Insurrectionist Lawmaker

He's returned as an interim legislator, pending a new election.

I believe the law probably says something to the effect that the local political leaders of the jurisdiction an expelled member represents can immediately vote to install an interim representative -- otherwise you wouldn't just be expelling a representative, you would be denying representation to the people he represents. So in a show of #Resistance, the city council voted to have the expelled representative be his own interim replacement.

Will he go on to re-win the election they're forcing him into? Probably. It's a law of #Resistance: just keep doubling down. Just keep waving the flag of black nationalism and show those White Devils you won't be #Oppressed.

This is a truly hysterical video: Check out how this other expelled representative, Justin Pearson, presented himself before the public when he first ran for office.

And then compare that to his transformation in the Age of St. George Floyd. Stay with it, it is definitely worth it.

He went from Cory Booker to Nat X in five years.

Kyle Shideler writes about the left's tactic of endlessly doubling down, endlessly threatening escalation and violence, until the right backs down.

Which they literally always do.

Kyle Shideler
@ShidelerK

In blackjack, there is a strategy where if you lose, you double your bet the next hand, thereby recouping any loss. If you lose, you just double again, and keeping doubling until you finally win. Casinos have maximum and minimum table limits for this reason.

This is analogous to the strategy employed by the left today. They took the "loss" of the covenant shooting (in the context of damaging their transgender agenda which was already on the back foot in TN). They doubled down to storm TN Capitol to reestablish narrative control.

The TN legislature expels the offenders. Left loses again. So they call in Obama, Kamala and the national media, and make another double bet. Call the legislature racist, reappoint the nashville offender legislator and dare the legislature to refuse to seat him. And they win.

Who can say what the next bet would have been if the TNGOP hadn't blinked? Taken it to the UN Security Council? Riots? But you can bet they would have come back yet again.

This works because, like Blackjack, the Left's opponents are rules based. Always hit on 16, always stand on 17. It's the rules. So the odds are predictable. If you escalate in a seemingly unreasonable fashion, eventually the right will go bust.

There are places the left goes politically where the right cannot follow. They lack the infrastructure, the trained cadres, expertise, the bank roll and the will. So escalation will always eventually put the Left in the driver seat. So they are always incentivized to escalate.

This is a good point, and explains why the left is attacking Trump and MAGA so hard: Because Trump and MAGA counter-escalate.

The left realizes that if they escalate and the right counter-escalates, not only does this deny them the easy victories that always come from the Pussy Right always backing down, but it could lead to actual open warfare. If the left keeps on escalating in rhetoric and actual violence, and the right, instead of meekly backing down and accepting losses forever, counter-escalates in rhetoric and action, that could lead to an actual civil war the left could lose.

Now, one way to avoid this escalation towards civil war is for the left to simply stop escalating all the time. But of course this is absolutely anathema to the left, including their media cheerleaders and Deep State guardian. Under no circumstances will the violent Marxist left ever be denied its "right" to escalate further and further into open violence.

That means that the right must be made to abandon its newly-adopted tactic of counter-escalation.

And that means that the Deep State must begin prosecuting Trump and anyone in MAGA for non-criminal behavior, and putting them on terrorist watch-lists for using dangerous code-words like "red-pilled" and "Chad."

The Deep State and the left will make it clear, through persecution and state-sanctioned warfare against the right, that only the left is permitted to engage in revolutionary, inciting rhetoric, and commit actual revolutionary violence. The right will be carted off to political prisons to protect the Marxist Left's Monopoly on Violence.

If the TN GOP (or any other actor in the hot spot) doesn't back down, then there it is. Situations vary, but pretty much simple as that.

SCOTUS was being mau-mau'd in a fashion not seen in modern history over the abortion thing - didn't change the outcome.

Trump of course was mobbed and slandered and scurrilously attacked over some simple common sense thing like securing the border. He didn't back off - of course his policies were largely diluted by the opposition of the GOP, and then the lawless judiciary. But he even went lawless himself and improperly redirected DOD $ to border barrier construction, and this move wasn't countered. Net-net at least a major element of the border/sovereignty crisis *was* dealt with (for the time being), despite crying bartenders in doctored photos, idiot suburban voters, disastrous GOP elected officials, reckless ridiculous Dems, et al.

So no need for infrastructure, TTP, necessarily. Just will.

92 This is known as "playing like an idiot." The objective is to WIN, not break even, which is all this ever can possibly do -- and has a better than even chance of never working until you run out of money.

While the latter is true in the sense that the casino will eventually shut you down, the former is not.

You bet $200. If you win, you gain $200. If you lost, you bet $400. If you win, you gain $200. If you lost, you bet $800. If you win, you gain $400. If you lost, you bet $1,600. If you win, you gain $800. If you lost, you bet $3,200. And so on. If the casino allows this to go on forever, it won’t have to: eventually, you win, and whatever the betting was at when you win, you gain half of it.

Which is why casinos don’t let it go on forever, and the GOP does.

Here's the text in the bill. Note that "covered transaction" means you posting something that allows the government to say "you are a threat to the United States":

"(1) information and communications technology products or services used by a party to a covered transaction in a sector designated as critical infrastructure in Policy Directive 21 (February 12, 2013; relating to critical infrastructure security and resilience);

(2) software, hardware, or any other product or service integral to telecommunications products and services..."

Oh, and don't miss the parts where the FOIA isn't applicable to the RESTRICT Act and also where they say they'll be charging "past, present, or future" transactions".

And that means that the Deep State must begin prosecuting Trump and anyone in MAGA for non-criminal behavior, and putting them on terrorist watch-lists for using dangerous code-words like "red-pilled" and "Chad."

So, continued escalation. That's what this is.
"I hit you and you do nothing. If I hit you and you hit me, I will shoot you. If I shoot you and you shoot me, then I will send a million armed men to raze your cities to the ground until you agree to stop hitting me back."

130 Excellent point, the blackjack analogy, although Ackshually . .
. that's not what doubling down is -- it's doubling your bet on a particular set of two cards, advisable when you have 11 and the dealer top card indicates a high probability of busting. What he's describing is the gambler's fallacy, which is the belief that by doubling your bet each time, surely you will get back to par. It's a fallacy because it's *not* a sure thing in gambling, but it certainly is a sure thing when facing the Republican establishment, so his basic point is right.

No! You will always end up gaining your original attempted gain.

So if you win that $3200 bet for $6400 you end up +$200. And that's if there's no vig which doesn't happen. Point being you could end up risking $12,000 to win $200.

Unless you have an unlimited stake, in which case why the fuck are you at a casino, it's the greatest way to lose your shirt. You'd be better off throwing yourself in front of a train.

142 The Deep State and the left will make it clear, through persecution and state-sanctioned warfare against the right, that only the left is permitted to engage in revolutionary, inciting rhetoric, and commit actual revolutionary violence. The right will be carted off to political prisons to protect the Marxist Left's Monopoly on Violence.
++++
Only for a short time. That kind of scenario doesn't last long. It goes one of two ways after that:
1. The Right fights back literally, and a civil war breaks out. The state will respond to this aggressively, and attempt to kill every last person who dared to object.
2. The state, having contained the problem with concentration camps, will fear that trouble could break out at any time and proactively begin a campaign of slaughter to kill off anyone it deems dangerous. The concentration camps become death camps.

Then, once freed of the Right-Wing Menace, the left will find new enemies amongst themselves until an external force stops it - like when Vietnam invaded Cambodia to put an end to the Khmer Rouge or when Hitler forced Stalin to put his purges on the back burner because of the external threat.

157 Kyle Shideler writes about the left's tactic of endlessly doubling down, endlessly threatening escalation and violence, until the right backs down.

It's a good analogy. But it misses the point.

The game is rigged. And whenever the left loses, they double down. All while the right not only continues to put money on the table and bet - but shouts down anyone who has the gall to suggest that staying at the table is a really stupid idea.

The right is irongrampa. They'll continue to lose, proudly, all while defending that table ... with their lives, if necessary ... while the table bleeds them dry.

The best thing the right could do - the most satisfying thing - is flip the damn table. But they won't. Hell, they won't even get up and walk away. They'll sneer at others that pull their money off the table. They actively beg and cajole for new players.

Don't forget how comparatively easy it is to do that when such a huge, probably workable majority, portion of the electorate is as ignorant and unserious as it is. It's the same thing in this case.

The Right capitulates. Always. Every time. Without exception. Trump did not, and nor did his movement. That is an escalation. Merely *not* capitulating is still an escalation, because it is an escalation from the prior normal position.

I think the Right should *actually* escalate, but I am not hopeful that will happen. When the Left calls for gun control, introduce (and pass if you can) legislation to make gun ownership mandatory. The Right doesn't do anything like that, but just declining to capitulate is an escalation from the prior position.

Dashcam Footage Shows Driverless Cars Clogging San Francisco. “Driverless cars have completed thousands of journeys in San Francisco—taking people to work, to school, and to and from dates. They have also proven to be a glitchy nuisance, snarling traffic and creeping into hazardous terrain such as construction zones and downed power lines. Autonomous cars in San Francisco made 92 unplanned stops between May and December 2022—88 percent of them on streets with transit service, according to city transportation authorities, who collected the data from social media reports, 911 calls, and other sources, because companies aren’t required to report all the breakdowns.”

Purely dealing with roulette ... yes, the Martingale Method is the only kind of dumb that only the educated could ever embrace.

I lost in a pure game of chance, where the odds are only slightly in the advantage of the House every spin of the wheel. I got it !!! I'll bet twice as much, under the same disadvantage.

228 Unless you have an unlimited stake, in which case why the fuck are you at a casino, it's the greatest way to lose your shirt.

Unless it’s the GOPe Casino, which never requires proof that you have a stake and sets neither a maximum nor enforces a closing time.

That’s his point. At a casino this doesn’t work, because there are rules that are enforced. Against the GOP, there are rules, and the moment they’re enforced you say “but that’s unfair” and the casino backs down and says, okay, we’ll keep the election open for a few more days.

You’re never risking $12,000 in the hope of getting $200, because you don’t have it to begin with and don’t have to worry about losing it in any case. Even in those circumstances where the superficial rules get enforced, there’s no punishment for having risked non-existent capital.

(I’ll take your word for the betting part; I don’t gamble and am probably missing something important about either math or how blackjack works.)

Posted by: Joe Mannix

Both 1 and 2 only work to suppress minorities--not about half the population. In case one, the military disintegrates into factions, civilians cart off a bunch of the military weapons available locally, and you get a Lebanon, Yugoslavia, or Afghanistan. Pol Pot tried case two and tried his best to kill about half of the country's population---he and his henchmen got their asses thrown out by the Vietnamese despite China's support of that murderous set of bastards. He lost too.

Historically, internal civil wars are difficult to forecast who wins--sometimes other countries step in and at other times, they wait it out. Nukes make matters more dicier.

Nope, it is not an instant win on such matters. It may be more to point that the TN Constitution forbids it or some legal formula exists for revenue sharing, etc. like home rule and formula funds for highways, etc.

Some states for example forbid local legislation that only pertains to one jurisdiction/city/county while others allow it.

And this, right here, is why the right is doomed to lose. The left rigs the game. All the while, the basic instinct of the right is to examine why they must continue to play the rigged game - lose the rigged game - and then abide by the rigged result and play some more.

Folks, you can't win this until you take the most basic, easiest step. Which isn't to even oppose the left. First, you have to shout down all those on the right that continue to insist you play the rules of a rigged game.

I know you said you'd take my word for it.

Not blackjack related as such, just the math based on how much you lose by betting.

Martingale was supposed to be a guaranteed way to win a certain amount. Doubling the bet each time doesn't give you half the bet in winnings because you've already lost so much.

Lose 2, 4, 8 and 16, you've lost 30. Bet 32 and win 32, you've won 32. Minus the 30 you already lost means you have $2 winnings. If you instead lose that 32, you've lost 62. Bet 64, win 64... minus 62 you previously lost, you're now you're up 2 dollars. You are always playing for the original potential win.

367 LAKE OSWEGO – Officers arrested a woman who slapped a student while presenting to a class during a career day event at Lakeridge Middle School.

On Friday, April 7, 2023, Lakeridge Middle School hosted a career day event for students. During the event, 43-year-old Lake Oswego resident, Ellen J. Sawo, was presenting to a class and became upset with some of the students. She began yelling profanities at them and, at one point, slapped one of the students in the face. Fortunately, the student who was slapped was not physically injured. Mrs. Sawo left the school prior to police arriving on the scene without any further incident.

Officers later contacted Sawo, where she was arrested for harassment (ORS 166.065) and later lodged at the Clackamas County Jail.

Get enough of a cold streak you can walk away. However lose 8 "coin flips" in a row - not impossible - and you CAN'T walk away. Just 8 coin flips the wrong way and you could be looking at betting 1300 just to win 10. And if you lose that, then you need to bet 2600...

Everyone in Euro land has a history and Russia had a bad history and rep in Eastern Europe aside from the Serbs and perhaps Armenia. They aren't much liked in the former USSR Asiatic republics.

So, while Russia was weak enough, the Baltics, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary wanted NATO protection. At the time, it seemed a harmless gesture by an optimistic EU and NATO project. But, then the periphery wanted in too or a sizable group of them did. Plus the breakup of Yugoslavia and the Serbs getting the short end of the stick in the breakup despite Russian aid combined with NATO protecting the Muslims created issues. Plus Georgia and so on.

In most of the world, resentments and phobias linger over almost everything just waiting to boil over. In the US, history is what happened in the last five minutes so that viewpoint is inimical to US policymakers. Plus emigres in US high offices still retain their historical grudges to ill effect.

371 This is true. But I have seen crap tables heat up.

I promise you - the table didn't care. Every roll of the dice was an independent event. For every wave of probability that you rode, there was or will be an equal and opposite wave. And you can't tell - nobody can - when that wave will begin or end.

There isn't even any universal force saying it has to end. But the odds say, for every roll, there are only 36 possible outcomes - and more of them are bad than good. And given enough rolls, over a lifetime, more bad will happen than good.

Yes. I'll stick to my first statement. Martingale is the kind of strategy only the educated could rationalize. Because the dumb will either gamble, or assume they'll lose without any math.

Only someone with a little extra education could embrace the notion of risking more and more money - at a game they'd already lost several times in a row. Martingale is perfect ... at separating a fool from their entire stake in one terrible gaming session. It's madness.
