The Morning Report — 4/6/23

blindjanet.jpg

Good morning, kids. A couple of things on my mind this morning. First, there's no getting around the fact that the turning of the Wisconsin state supreme court into a 4-3 leftist majority is going to have repercussions there (here, in my case) and perhaps nationally. While it is a very safe assumption that some if not quite a bit of election thievery took place, the dismal turnout of conservative/GOP voters is a head-scratcher. To me anyway. This Janet Prostitutkawitch ran solely on the platform of Dan Kelly will keep women barefoot and pregnant even in cases of rape and incest. Kind of funny since this fat bint has a record of letting rapists and other violent thugs off the hook with barely a wrist slap, so I guess it balances out in the grand scheme of things, right ladies of the cheese belt? Sheesh.

Something doesn't add up with me on this score. If America (such as it exists) still is a majority conservative country, or at a minimum center-right if you still use that kind of dodgy paradigm, and if poll after poll over the years shows a clear two-thirds majority of respondents across party/ideological lines wanting at least some restrictions on state-sanctioned infanticide, how is it that that attitude is not reflected at the polls? That is, how does this issue or how it is even propagandized registering with people, especially in light of the fact that so many other issues, especially Democrat-caused crime and economic disaster, are hitting people where they live, literally and figuratively? I don't get it.

What I do get is, after losing 55-45, in a race that could have and should have been if not won, then a razor-thin margin, the fish stinks from the head:

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel described the loss of conservative candidate Daniel Kelly in Tuesday’s Wisconsin Supreme Court election as “a messaging issue.”

“I will say something else. When you’re losing by 10 points there is a messaging issue. And abortion is still an issue. And we can’t allow the Democrats to define Republicans and put millions of dollars up in lies and have it go unanswered, because the lies become the truth if they go unanswered,” McDaniel said Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s  “America’s Newsroom.”

Janet Protasiewicz defeated Daniel Kelly in Tuesday’s election, securing 55.8% of the vote after liberal groups, philanthropist George Soros and Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker of Illinois sank millions of dollars into the campaign. Republicans provided far less funding for Kelly, according to campaign finance reports.

“We have to put the Democrats on the defense on this issue, talk about the fact that they support gender selection abortions, and due date abortions,” McDaniel continued. “It was an issue in 2022. The RNC raised the flag. I’m a suburban woman. I know this is an issue. I hear it with my friends with my young daughter.”

No, you're a Romney. And a globalist stooge. But that aside, we knew that this race was happening the moment that IIRC Justice Patience Roggensack's seat was going to be vacant. From that moment, why was every damned resource not mobilized to get out the vote and get out the messaging? Would Harmeet Dhillon have made a difference? We'll never know, now will we? And as far as this suburban mom messaging garbage, basta cosi! I am sick to fucking death of these women bitching and moaning about everything collapsing in on them, while alternately complaining "but Trump said 'pussy'!" and "muh-bortions!"

Make up your fucking hormonal minds about what matters, wake the hell up to recognize that decapitating a human being in the womb is murder, and get over yourselves. As for the GOP, I hope to hell this loss is not a harbinger of shit for 2024 nationally and even for me personally (bad enough I have to live within smelling distance of Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago. But I left New York and don't want to see it follow me). And, the current nightmare notwithstanding, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the salient fact that Donald Trump endorsed Ronna Romney McDaniel.

And that of course leads me into the current issue of the death of the republic. Meh, we're now firmly in the dismemberment phase, but is it me or am I like the only one seeing that? Before delving into part B of my rant for the day, this came over the transom just a short while ago:

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio took the stand and testified in the federal trial of Prakazrel “Pras” Michel, founder of the hip hop band Fugees, and his alleged involvement in a money laundering scheme that included a huge — and illegal — donation to Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

DiCaprio recalled a conversation with Malaysian financier Jho Low, who mentioned that he was looking to donate millions of dollars to the Obama campaign by giving the money to Michel and having him pass it to Obama’s people. . .
. . . “It was a significant sum, something to the tune of $20-30 million,” DiCaprio testified in court. “I said, ‘Wow that’s a lot of money!’”

Additional witnesses testified that they were wired money from Low and asked to forward it to the Obama campaign.

It should be noted that Low attempted to also bribe the Trump campaign but there is zero evidence that any money wound up there at all. Not that that would make any bit of difference to someone like Alvin Bragg, but I digress. Kind of.

Yeah, $20-$30 million is a lot of money, Leo. But it's peanuts compared to what likely came into the Obama coffers internationally – each single dollar would be a count in a federal case – in the form of massively laundered credit card donations (that we in fact know about) that are easily 10 times that figure, if not more. Funny how Barack Obama is free to travel the world with his bearded Wookie running down America for fun and profit, but mostly profit, on the lecture circuit. And yet sic transit Donald J. Trump.

As you peruse the links, you no doubt will see a bevy of intelligent and thoughtful pundits and commentators remarking that this case has zero merits, and should be thrown out immediately, let alone ever have been brought in the first place. Of course this is true, but it messes the point. It presupposes that there are jurists who will of course subsume their political persuasion/affiliation and elevate their fealty to the rule of law to do so. If that were the case, even a rabid dog like Alvin Bragg never would have entertained the idea of doing what he did. Meh, he never would have risen much above the level of ambulance chaser. And yet, look at the curricula and who is teaching it at our nation's most elite law schools. QED.

Even Alan Dershowitz gets it. Sort of:

Dershowitz went on to suggest that Trump’s case will likely not be dismissed, saying that “I don’t think that if you had the best lawyers in the history of the world, Abraham Lincoln and John Marshall, a New York City judge would dismiss this case because that New York City judge’s life would be over.”

The lawyer said that the judge would be mocked if he or she were to dismiss Trump. Dershowitz continued by saying that he does think Trump will be convicted by “your jury who voted for Bragg.” However, he added that the case would “be reversed on appeal,” and it “will never be affirmed all the way up to the Supreme Court.”

By the time it gets to SCOTUS or wherever, the damage will have been done. And assuming it would be overturned is also something that I wouldn't necessarily bank on, Mr. Dershowitz.

It’s clear that, for the Trump trial, Merchan’s deep involvement with the Leftist elites is not a bug but a feature. Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s case couldn’t possibly be thinner.  As Andy McCarthy, a former assistant U.S. attorney, stated, “this indictment, even before you get to the statute of limitations and whether he’s got jurisdiction to enforce federal law, I would dismiss it on its face because it fails to state a crime… This is the heart of the case. It’s not a felony unless he was trying to conceal another crime and if you don’t tell them what the crime is, how does that put him on notice and allow him to prepare his defense?”

The perfect judge for such a Kafkaesque case would be one who is so ferociously partisan that the weakness of the case hardly matters, because the outcome has been predetermined.

Is Judge Merchan that judge? He may end up being as impartial as the day is long, but if Bragg and his henchmen wanted to make sure that the judge in this case was as sympathetic to the prosecution as possible, Merchan’s donation history and daughter’s activities certainly made him an appealing candidate for the job. . .

. . . Here yet again, we are in uncharted territory. Many have observed that the indictment and arrest of Trump take us into banana republic territory, and it is precisely for that reason that supporters of Trump, and those who aren’t so fond of Trump but realize how dangerous this whole affair is, should not be so sure that the whole case will eventually founder. Stalin didn’t put his enemies on trial just to see them acquitted. Old Joe Biden’s handlers and their allies aren’t likely to do so, either.

Robert Spencer gets it. There's a terrific essay, yet again, from Victor Davis Hanson where he just lays out exactly what's going on. And then he gets to the last sentence. Four words that, after reading his entire discourse, you just shake your head.

Since 2020 and even before, in things great and small, pundits and others keep saying, "If they are allowed to get away with it, the damage may be irreparable." First, for far too long our leaders and those who have brought us to this point, and by all indications will not stop, have done irreparable damage to our nation and society in things great and small.

Second, and most crucially, the republic is already dead. This notion of damage being irreparable is idiotic. What's happening now is the political equivalent of gang-rape necrophilia on Mrs. Bates.

I wish these people would wake up and smell the covfefe.

4 Carlson is joined by Luke Gromen who accurately notes the dollar as a global trade currency may continue, but foreign nations holding U.S. treasury bonds as an asset will likely start contracting. The result of U.S. treasury bonds returning after maturity with no repurchase, would be an inability of the U.S. to borrow against their sale. This could, perhaps likely will, severely diminish the amount of money the U.S. congress can spend.

7 The election in WI is a harbinger of what 2024 is going to be if the GOP doesn't get its act together and get behind Trump (or maybe DeSantis.)

Putting someone like Pence on the ticket dooms Republicans.

But, as we've noted before, that seems to be the plan.

18 Good morning everyone. Thank you J.J.

The death and resurrection of Jesus is the turning point of history. During the three days of the Sacred Triduum (which begins this evening), Christians enter into the dying and rising of Jesus. Let this be our prayer:

O God, as Jesus did in his dying, I place myself entirely into your hands, to live as you would have me live, to do what you would have me do. I trust, as did your Son on the cross, that this is the path to life.
Amen.

Polls may show that people want restrictions on abortions, but that is self report (notorious for inaccuracy as my Psych prof said) - perhaps to appear as a more honorable and moral person to the person asking the question. But when they get in the privacy of a voting booth they tell the truth.

Abortion has become another third rail for Republicans. I saw it in PA in November and now in WI. The only way to keep from getting electrocuted by the third rail is to not touch it.

Convicted of what?
You have to state a law on the books.
175.10 Falsifying business records in the first degree.
A person is guilty of falsifying business records in the first degree when he commits the crime of falsifying business records in the second degree, and when his intent to defraud includes an intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof.
Falsifying business records in the first degree is a class E felony.

And we can’t allow the Democrats to define Republicans and put millions of dollars up in lies and have it go unanswered, because the lies become the truth if they go unanswered,” McDaniel said Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom.”

No. It isn't a "messaging" issue. It's a competence issue. *Your* level of competence, Ronna. You and you ilk in the mainline establishment GOP. You're incompetent. You're unaligned with the base. You machinate and play political games, even going so far as to work against your own candidates. Your priorities are crap. You suck and you're surrounded by people who suck. Your entire establishment is an unserious, childish, petulant mess.

Look in the mirror, toots. And look through your offices. Look through your Rolodex. Look through your social calendar for the past twenty years. You'll find a lot of information about what the problems are that way.

With respect, JJ, I say it isn't and hasn't been for at least the last decade or more. Or if it is, then the majority is simply too lazy, beaten down or demoralized to correct course.

I always use Chik-Fil-A as an example: after Dan Cathy's loathsome vomitus that whites need to shine blacks' shoes, that company's stock should have cratered and every franchise abandoned. Pro sports has been spitting in conservatives' faces for years, and yet they still plop down in front of the teevee to cheer on MUH TEAM!

And I don't buy the, "well, these businesses have seen a drop in revenue" argument. A drop means nothing. Only complete and total bankruptcy gets attention. But, as I said before, the right does not have the will to boycott these places out of existence.

We are not the majority and never will be. Hear me now and believe me later.

As the rot continues to grow from the hard core of hopelessly corrupt judges and prosecutors and gradually becomes the norm, choice of counsel won't matter anymore. All cases will be decided according to "social justice" rather than evidence. With a predetermined outcome, whether your lawyer is competent or functionally retarded doesn't really matter.

I think the only strategy is to stay away from the third rail until elected - then the gloves come off. Any candidate who gets recorded saying he would not allow abortion on any condition including rape or incest is going to lose. Period. Will be labelled as 'extremist' and that tag does stick on the issue.

My personal opinion on abortion is that there are so many methods, cheap, readily available that can prevent a pregnancy that to even have a discussion about abortion is a sign of how incredibly stupid some women have become.

Now we have 34 felony indictments against Trump and a case that likely will go to trial even as flimsy as it is. A trial that probably won't be held until the election is underway.

I'm betting there's going to be an effort to rewrite the law about who can and cannot run for President that will make Trump ineligible. I think the Democrats have enough time to see this one through. Success is debatable.

111 Let me lay this out for you. Rona McDaniel and her band of consultants are a big reason we continue to lose elections and underperform. I'll also remind you she was Trump's pick for all the wrong reasons. Trump believes the election was "stolen" and ergo McDaniel did a good job. She just could not beat the cheat. But that's only partially correct as we saw in the last midterm. The messaging is horrible and the GOTV strategy is stale and destined to lose. That before we get to electoral fraud and state voting issues, which McDaniel has done closedown to address. All that heavy lifting is being done by outside groups. Not Trump. Not McDaniel. Independent groups. So in short, Trump supports the current GOP establishment headed by Rona and acknowledges zero of the structural, GOTV, legal and constitutional issues. Zero. Because it was stolen and he's going to beat that dead horse. Which does zero to change things. Until someone acknowledges there is an issue and get rid of McDaniel and her consultants we will continue to lose. Not because of fervid. Because of incompetence and people like Trump yielding to vanity.

114 Courts have relied on the so-called Enrollment Bill Rule to hold that once a bill is “enrolled” in the official journal of the House (or Senate), challenges to the passage of the bill are precluded. According to Paxton, however, the Enrollment Bill Rule only precludes judicial review of “factual” questions, not “legal” questions. Because Texas’ constitutional challenge presents solely a legal question for the court, Paxton argues the Enrollment Bill Rule does not apply.

If the Enrollment Bill Rule were valid and enforceable in this case then no law could ever be challenged in court.

I get it but that has no emotional persuasion for the average citizen. It needs to be juicy and it needs to "fit". If people can't easily picture Obama murdering US citizens - and trust me they can't - it will carry zero weight and move no needles. It doesn't matter that he's guilty. Incorrect. 39.4% officially, less than half. 55% of those that voted went for P-Face Killa.
60+% of WI couldn't be bothered to show up.

All I know is I'm looking at Wisconsin's election commission website that show's 3.5m registered voters, I have no idea what would make one an eligible voter vs a registered voter in this election, and they don't list the number of eligible voters anywhere, so as far as I'm concerned, all numbers are bullsh*t and meaningless at this point.

148 While the international hotheads are screeching about an impending doom, levelheaded observers point to data that clearly show a pause in warming, which has been mild and as likely natural as it is human-caused, has now reached eight years and nine months. There has been no rise in global temperatures from July 2015 to March 2023.

This fact-based claim draws on satellite readings from the University of Alabama in Huntsville that measure temperatures in the troposphere, a much more accurate method of keeping score than the shoddy record produced by ground-based weather stations.

Every 200 or 400 years there is a record of cooling. They skated and walked over the Thames.

The children who lost their lives were all between the ages of 5 and 7 years old. Police in Blumenau, a city of approximately 366,000 people, are investigating the incident and searching for a motive.

A bill is easy to overturn by even the laziest liberal judge. But funding? Ordering the legislature on how they allocate funds?

For example:
Don't ban trannies in women's sports. Write the preamble that any can play. But the school that allows trannies loses 50% of their athletic funding since they are not separating male and female athletes anymore so they don't need all that money.
And this doesn't even need to be states, local school boards control the local budget.

Whether the DoD/IC did this on their own without coordination with the White House or the other way around is debatable. But it was presumed nobody on the ground would ever notice a huge balloon floating overhead and if they did, would ignore it.

They assumed wrong.

The vast, vast, vaaaaaaaast majority of the populace are unaware of any of these things. Where would they hear about them? The "regular" media doesn't report it, only the political media. Few people pay attention.

People don't even notice the "subtle" BS that goes on in "entertainment".

Our side runs away from the argument. Their side frames it as they please.

Basing beliefs, one way or the other, on the political opinions of the populace on their behavior is wasted effort.

Strongly disagree. NYC is highly vulnerable right now.

Subway ridership is down 70% which is an important indicator of overall activity. The MTA has been propped up by Covid money which is about to run out.

NYC is taxed out. Until now it's worked because it's a 24/7 city with lots of activity.

It all comes down to commercial real estate values. Many empty offices. Same with retail space.

Hit NYC over tourism and business travel and it will hurt. The money people will turn on Bragg's pupeteers.

Following last year’s Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson, our state’s abortion law reverted to a statute prohibiting all abortions save those performed to save the life of the mother. The life of the mother exception requires clarification in the wake of medical advances, and wide majorities of both Republicans and Democrats support exceptions for pregnancies resulting from rape and incest.

Or could it be something else. Like say the GOP blows as an organizing party for elections. Or that Soros and the left's dark money machine once against millions more than we did in WI to win a race. Or that the candidate publicly ignored the leader of the conservative/populist movement in the country.

It is such a hopeful incredible set of pro-America, pro-life, pro-commerce, and pro-success goals, it shows both parties (again) for what they really are.

It is a foundation for a campaign that is so far beyond anything we've ever heard in our lives, and so far removed from the Daily Demoralization Dirge and narrow-minded argument set the Democrats and Uniparty has us trapped in, that I don't even have words to describe it.

I'd love to know how many mothers lives have been at risk in the last 25 years. I'm guessing zero. If so, just deliver the child.

Related to zero, the pro abortion Gutmmacher folks did a study showing that rape and incest is tied to around 1% of abortions, so the real number is probably a dozen or so. If a woman is raped she is given the morning after pill and a dose of medication to prevent disease the moment she enters the hospital.

It's all based on lies, and Republicans promote it and help.

Eh, I see this is about as relevant as when, after an MSM orgy of coverage of, say, Michael Jackson's death0, they pause for a nanosecond to say, "maybe we went too far," and then they go right back into doing it with the next big scandal/story. This lil' play at self-reflection allows them to absolve themselves of their excesses and never think of it again.

The MSM has been GETTRUMP GETTRUMP GETTRUMP!!! since 2016, actively assisting in any/all efforts to have him arrested, and now that it's finally happened, they pretend to neutrally analyze the specifics of the case. Has anyone in the MSM ever called the Russia hox, the two impeachments, or any other action against Trump (two scoops! overfed fish! missing Melania! etc.) "unnervingly flimsy?"

Why ? Easy. Because VDH doesn't have the fourth box.

Speed and quality of service. When I used to go there, that was the key factor. It doesn't matter how long the line is, they move it fast, get it right and do it all politely. During busy periods they take orders in advance by walking up the line. Their model is heavy on manpower but works extremely well to burn the queue down rapidly. When I worked in the office and had a brief lunch break but wanted to leave the building, I could go there and be pretty well assured that I wouldn't be late getting back to the office. That was the draw for me. The product is fine (though I don't get the "best. sandwich. ever." stuff), but the speed and level of service were exceptional.

I went to an "In 'n Out Burger" for the first time in maybe 2012 or so, long after its reputation preceded it. I friend took me there, very excited to introduce me to it.

I went there. I got my hamburger. I ate it. My reaction was, "it's fine." It is fine. It's good. I do not get the obsession with it. Maybe it's just because of availability. Colonists from California longing for the old country, maybe.

Regional fast food obsessions are something I don't understand. "Whataburger" in Texas is very good, but I don't get the obsession.

Press Releases: Connolly, Fitzpatrick introduce bipartisan Saving the Civil Service Act to Protect Federal Workforce from Politicization, Washington, Feb 14, 2023

Today, Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) introduced the Saving the Civil Service Act to protect the federal workforce from politicization and political manipulation. The bipartisan legislation includes & builds on ... Preventing a Patronage System Act, which passed the House in September 2022.

"The former President's attempt to remove qualified experts and replace them with political loyalists was a direct threat to our national security and our government's ability to function the way the American people expect it to. Expertise, not political fealty, must define our civil service."

Worth a glance, especially the unions', management associations' etc. comments praising it. All nonsence. Be nice if Civil Service would simply abide by the Act. At this point in time & with nothing having to do with PDT, it's nothing more than a huge politicized & manipulated employment hole.

In a statement released Tuesday and in an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters, Comer — chairman of the House Oversight Committee — announced that the picture previously painted, of classified documents being discovered by the Biden legal team in November (then kept secret until CBS News reported their existence in January), was wildly incorrect.

In fact, Comer said, testimony from Kathy Chung, Biden’s former executive assistant, showed that the Biden White House had been trying to retrieve the documents since at least May of last year — six months before the public learned about them.

“She said this dates back to May of 2022, that the documents were moved from the vice presidency to at least three different locations in a personal vehicle,” he said. “And why they were in three different locations, we don’t know.

“They weren’t stored behind any locks. One of the locations was in Chinatown. The other location was in the Penn Biden Center, which might as well have been Chinatown, by looking at where their money was coming from.

No, no, and NO!!! This is a HARD LEFT country now. Prostitutewicz won BIG, and the fact that Johnson won at all simply confirm that. The GOP got hosed last fall, barely winning the House and losing a number of races thought to be in the bag (not that it matters anyway, they're mostly useless). And if the public is good with restrictions on abortions, they sure didn't show it in Kansas, Michigan, and Montana.

With each passing year the electorate lurches further in the woke direction. They are good with jailing and even exterminating people of whom they disapprove, and are putting a government in place to do precisely that. We are not voting our way out of this.

And the biggest problem is just now beginning: the collapse of the US-born citizen population numbers. We got all the sex, no responsibility, and now, no kids!

It is useful, although extremely distasteful, to remember that all these Moloch-ian victories began very small, indeed. To attempt a 100% turnaround in the abortion culture in 2 years is NOT a path to victory.

Start by using the proper terms. There is not a designation of 'illegal immigrant'. That is already on the books as 'illegal alien'.
Why do we need a new law? There are laws on the books that say: an illegal alien, a non-resident alien or a resident alien shall be deported when convicted of a felony. No appeals, delays, etc.

Also an illegal alien is committing/has committed a felony by just being here, so no questions needed.

- Gotta give DiCaprio some thumbs up for his willingness to go on record about this. Many stars would have developed a shaky memory.
- It may be an indication that the Leftists in Charge are willing to dump the Big O. If corruption will be coming out, better to be on the side that exposes him early. It may also be a way of keeping Big Mike from running. I sense the not-so-subtle Hand of Clinton in this.
- If O's legacy is on the line, I expect that they are prepared to jettison Biden, and well before the primaries (or, maybe in the middle, with the New Chosen Dem receiving the votes by acclamation).
