20 I had a problem with the AR I built. Bolt catch would lock back every 2 or 3 rounds. I thought oh man I did something wrong!

Research (goggle plus asking the gunthread) said something with the buffer/buffer spring. I had put one of those captive spring "silent" buffers in it. Went back to a stock GI buffer and spring and it is fixed! Hooray!

So I am happy that it works. But sad that the extra cost captive buffer did not work. But I guess in an unsurpressed AR buffer spring noise is really not something you can hear.

I wondered about that. What I think is, "fake watermelon" means melon which has added red dye to it to give it that bright red appearance. That's why the red color was leaching into the water when they submerged it. The real melon retained that color inside its cells; the fake one had the dye floating around outside the cells.

IIRC Cubic Zirconia is double faceted so you can read through them.
Diamonds are single so you can't read through them.

134 Blue whales were showing up off SoCal a few years back (90s?). Enough that I think there were whale-watching trips out of Cicero's yacht crib (Dana Point). Have family up there, none of them have seen one, and some spend a lot of time on the water. Dunno if they're still on the endangered list, or downgraded to "threatened", or whatever the lower DEFCON for species extinction is.

The CA gray whales seem pretty abundant, not sure of their official status either. I doubt scientists have much idea of the pre-human f***ery equilibrium population of the species (how could they?), so not sure how they would move species around the scale.
