Rand Paul: Anthony Fauci Lied About Retiring. He's Still Working for the Government, For Protection Against an Indictment.

Claiming to be retired also means he can legally fight congressional subpoenas. If he admits he's a government employee, he has to testify -- he has no choice.

But a private citizen can fight a subpeona.

Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has taken another swipe at his arch nemesis, Anthony Fauci, claiming that the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is not really retired and is still working for the government. The senator appeared on Fox News on Wednesday and spoke to host Sean Hannity about what he says he found.

"There is a massive coverup going on and the lead in all of the coverup has been Fauci," the senator said. "We now have information that he is still working for the government even though he says he is retired. It is my belief that he is worried about being indicted and so he continues to work so he will get legal protection under the federal government."

Video at the link. Rand Paul also says Fauci weaponized the government to destroy his critics, using taxpayer monies as a bribery slush-fund.

"This guy weaponized the NIAD. He weaponized it to get his supporters," the senator said. "At first, they said, 'My goodness. It came from a lab.' And then, all of a sudden, they changed their mind. They got more money. They got more grants."

"He used that grant-making authority -- who gets it -- and he weaponized government to get what he wanted," he said, "and that was the cover-up."

Even the New York Times now admits that Anthony Fauci is a corrupt liar, in an opinion piece written by a New York Times op-ed contributor.

Even the literally-Fauci-worshipping NYT is starting to doubt their midget god.

She begins by recalling an interview of Anthony Fauci in 2021 by... Newt Gingrich. Gingrich praised Fauci for being such a wise and learned man.

But then he asked about this conspiracy theory being spread by conservatives -- or "urban legend," as Gingrich called it -- that covid-19 had been created in the Wuhan Respiratory Virus Laboratory, specifically in their bat-virus-research lab.

"There's a sort of urban legend," Mr. Gingrich prodded Dr. Fauci, "that there's a biological warfare center in Wuhan and that the coronavirus escaped from that."

"I've heard these conspiracy theories," Dr. Fauci replied. "And like all conspiracy theories, Newt, they're just conspiracy theories." He added that while he could not say that scenario was impossible, "the things you're hearing are still in the realm of conspiracy theories without any scientific basis."

Dr. Daszak agreed that "all the evidence says" the virus crossed from animal to human either in a Wuhan market or in rural China, probably after originating in wild bats.

The two men could have told Mr. Gingrich a lot more.

They could have said that laboratories in Wuhan had indeed been studying bat viruses, including coronaviruses. Live bats were kept in the laboratories, and scientists occasionally carried out controversial forms of research in which viral strains are manipulated in ways that can make them more dangerous to humans. Both men worked for organizations that had a hand in moving U.S. taxpayer funds to the scientists in Wuhan -- Dr. Daszak had been involved with Wuhan bat research for years; Dr. Fauci's emails show his staff had recently reminded him of N.I.H. funding for the coronavirus work Dr. Daszak's organization supported.

They could have acknowledged that while they believed the virus had reached humans as a zoonotic spillover from animals, accidental leaks are a known lab hazard and couldn't yet be ruled out (even if the notion of using coronaviruses as a biological weapon was laughably improbable).

Why? It f&cking shut the world down, did you not catch that? If you did have a working vaccine in advance, you could release such a weapon while your own population remained infection-free.

They always have to signal their adherence to the True Progressive Faith, even when they're confessing that their Progressive Popes are corrupt liars.

Instead they dissembled.

Ah, "dissembled." The cowardly courtier's way of saying "My dear sweet glorious prince appears to have inadvertently lied, perhaps due to be overserved by a commoner."

The near-certainty with which Dr. Fauci spoke publicly of zoonotic crossover is somewhat incongruous with his private communications from that time. He knew there was real debate -- he was in the thick of it. In public, he leaned hard into animal crossover; behind the scenes, he wrote that "I do not know how this evolved" but warned that he was concerned about "distortions on social media" of Covid's origins.

The pandemic grievously eroded public faith in health authorities as well as news media, a sort of national unmooring often attributed to former President Donald Trump and others on the right who touted questionable treatments and pushed back against vaccine mandates, masks and closures.

But the full story of Covid information manipulation is much broader...

And so we are left to wonder how a straightforward hypothesis got labeled first as a conspiracy and later as a reflection of racism. Retracing coverage and public comments, I found a cautionary tale: Those who seek to suppress disinformation may be destined, themselves, to sow it.

***

A familiar Chinese tendency to stonewall and evade foreign inquiries was on full display in Beijing and Wuhan as the world demanded answers about Covid's origin. A similar impulse to shut down discussion, however, is suggested by the early public remarks of Drs. Fauci and Daszak, who found themselves thrust into fame overnight as journalists eagerly sought their insights.

By the time Dr. Fauci recorded the Gingrich podcast, he was involved in a private debate among some of the world's most renowned biologists and virologists over how the virus had come to infect humans. Dr. Fauci recently acknowledged that half the participants in a now-notorious conference call to discuss Covid's origin "felt it might be from a lab" -- but at the time he gave little public hint of the seriousness of this debate.

I asked Dr. Fauci in a telephone interview about the largely one-sided nature of his public remarks. He'd always, at least, acknowledged the possibility of a lab leak, he said, but he couldn't pretend to think both theories were equally probable. His entire career, he reminded me, centered for years on a virus -- H.I.V. -- that jumped into humanity from a chimpanzee. He then listed all the other outbreaks that he'd seen traced to animal origin: swine flu, MERS, even SARS-CoV-1.

"I can't dissociate that in my mind, I can't say, just, 'I don't know,' the way you can," he said. "I can't, as a scientist, ignore the historical perspective that I've been deeply involved with my entire career."

Fauci here "forgets" that many diseases have escaped from research labs.

Including the H1N1 swine flu putbreak of 1977.

The danger of a manmade pandemic sparked by a laboratory escape is not hypothetical: One occurred in 1977, and it occurred because of concern that a natural pandemic was imminent. Many other laboratory escapes of high-consequence pathogens have occurred, resulting in transmission beyond laboratory personnel. Ironically, these laboratories were working with pathogens to prevent the very outbreaks they ultimately caused. For that reason, the tragic consequences have been called "self-fulfilling prophecies."

Modern genetic analysis allows pathogens to be precisely identified, and because all circulating pathogens show genetic changes over time, the year that a particular example of a pathogen emerged can generally be determined, given a sufficient database of samples. If a pathogen appears in nature after not circulating for years or decades, it may be assumed to have escaped from a laboratory where it had been stored inert for many years, accumulating no genetic changes--that is, its natural evolution had been frozen.

The swine flu scare of 1976 and the H1N1 human influenza pandemic of 1977.

Human H1N1 influenza virus appeared with the 1918 global pandemic and persisted, slowly accumulating small genetic changes, until 1957, when it appeared to go extinct after the H2N2 pandemic virus appeared. In 1976, H1N1 swine influenza virus struck Fort Dix, N.J., causing 13 hospitalizations and one death. The specter of a reprise of the deadly 1918 pandemic triggered an unprecedented effort to immunize all Americans. No swine H1N1 pandemic materialized, however, and complications of immunization truncated the program after 48 million immunizations, which eventually caused 25 deaths.

Human H1N1 virus reappeared in 1977, in the Soviet Union and China. Virologists, using serologic and early genetic tests, soon began to suggest the cause of the reappearance was a laboratory escape of a 1949-50 virus, and as genomic techniques advanced, it became clear that this was true. By 2010, researchers published it as fact: "The most famous case of a released laboratory strain is the re-emergent H1N1 influenza-A virus which was first observed in China in May of 1977 and in Russia shortly thereafter." The virus may have escaped from a lab attempting to prepare an attenuated H1N1 vaccine in response to the U.S. swine flu pandemic alert.

The 1977 pandemic spread rapidly worldwide but was limited to those under 20 years of age: Older persons were immune from exposures before 1957. Its attack rate was high (20 to 70 percent) in schools and military camps, but mercifully it caused mild disease, and fatalities were few.

Is that not scary enough?

How about the repeated release of deadly smallpox from British labs?

Smallpox releases in Great Britain. Eradication of natural smallpox transmission made the prospect of reintroduction of the virus intolerable. This risk was clearly demonstrated in the United Kingdom. From 1963-78 the U.K. saw only four cases of smallpox (with no deaths) occurred that were imported by travelers from areas where smallpox was endemic. During this same period at least 80 cases and three deaths resulted from three separate escapes from two different accredited smallpox laboratories.

Fauci is claiming he didn't lie when he ruled out a lab outbreak. He will confess only to a Modified Limited Hang-Out: Maybe he had a congnitive bias in favor of natural zoonotic evolution, but that's only because he's such an experienced virus-fighter that he remembers all the cases of "natural spillover."

But he has also been the head of the NIAID during the period when scientists confirmed that the swine flu of 1977 was due to a lab outbreak.

As well as all the other outbreaks.

So no, his Modified Limited Hang-Out that he didn't lie but only maybe had a cognitive bias holds no water: yes, there are, of course, natural hops of viruses from animals and birds to humans. But there are also ample instances of labs leaking out the very viruses they were supposed to be protecting us against.

Did Fauci just completely forget about all those cases? Apparently that's his story and he'll be sticking to it in later perjury trials.

Emails released in a congressional inquiry indicate that Dr. Fauci was among the senior scientists who encouraged his colleagues to write a paper asserting that the new coronavirus had a natural origin. "The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2," published by Nature Medicine in March 2020, concluded "we do not believe that any type of laboratory-based scenario is possible."

"Our main work over the last couple weeks has been focused on trying to disprove any type of lab theory," one of the authors, a researcher named Kristian Andersen, wrote in an email the day before the podcast dropped.

Then, in April 2020, Dr. Fauci pointed White House reporters to the publication, presenting it as compelling evidence of zoonotic crossover -- without revealing that he had been involved with its creation and had even, according to the emails, given it his approval. (Dr. Fauci told me that he's not sure he ever got around to reading the paper.)

"He's not sure he ever got around to reading the paper." Notice how noncommittal he is about this lie. He wants to chalk it up to a lapse in memory in case proof emerges that he gave it a final edit.

He's doing a lot of perjury-trial preparation here.

By then, Dr. Fauci was fixed in the public imagination as a figure of reassurance and reliability. Mr. Trump was an easy foil -- dishonest, childishly self-congratulatory and disturbingly capricious. And then there was Dr. Fauci -- sober, rational and an emerging celebrity at a time when the public was exhorted to "follow the science," a tiresome phrase obscuring the necessarily disputatious nature of scientific progress.

With Mr. Trump sneering about "kung flu" and "China virus," it was easy to write off a lab-leak hypothesis as a right-wing fantasy.

Boy, they sure do give themselves every possible latitude for being wrong about everything.

Trump is always Forcing Them to Be Wrong.

Just as conservatives sometimes force trans lunatics to kill Christian children.

Has it ever occurred to you that if the extent of your "thinking" is just automatically taking the position opposite of Trump's, you're a childish, mentally-ill non-thinker?

Did Trump force you to be a childish, mentally-ill nonthinker? Is that also one of his crimes?

The MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace called it "one of Trumpworld's most favorite conspiracy theories." Twitter added warning labels to posts that argued for lab leak; Facebook banned such posts altogether for several months in 2021 before reversing the decision. NPR called it a "baseless conspiracy theory" in a tweet, and the foreign affairs expert Fareed Zakaria wrote (and repeated on CNN): "The far right has now found its own virus conspiracy theory."

And not just a loopy, harmless conspiracy theory, either, but a toxic idea often blamed for rising hate crimes against Asian Americans. Last year, even the White House press secretary at the time, Jen Psaki, attributed attacks on Asian Americans to "hate-filled rhetoric and language around the origins of the pandemic."

This is a good point coming up, which many of you have pointed out:

Fauci both claimed that the lab leak theory was racist... while claiming the virus really emerged due to Chinese people's disgusting practices in dirty "wet markets:"

But was that really about the lab? As I recall, people harped about bats, made cruel comments about Chinese food and stigmatized Chinese markets like this:

"The wet markets that have exotic animals in them -- you're not talking about a big chicken farm. You're not talking about raising pigs. You're talking about getting exotic animals from the wild ... the fact is, the customs and the traditions and the things people have done for centuries are so ingrained in the population that the Chinese authorities and the Chinese people have found it very difficult to make those kinds of changes." That's Dr. Fauci in conversation with Mr. Gingrich, dwelling on the "ingrained" tendency of people in China to create disease-breeding environments.

But to say that Chinese scientists made this bat virus in a laboratory dedicated to creating new variations of bat viruses, using money from Peter Daszak and Antony Fauci, would be "racist."

As for Dr. Daszak, he'd soon pop up in China as a member of the World Health Organization team dispatched to investigate the origins of the virus. He was hardly a disinterested observer: Dr. Daszak had been collaborating for more than a decade with Chinese virologists studying bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and directed National Institutes of Health money toward the research through his nonprofit, EcoHealth Alliance.

That initial W.H.O. investigation was famously stymied by Chinese intransigence, but the panel nevertheless ruled out the possibility of lab origin -- only for the organization's director general to admit several months later that this decision had been premature.

Fresh off the W.H.O. investigation, Dr. Daszak made the rounds of U.S. media to disparage lab leak as a conspiracy theory -- frequently without disclosing his own professional stake in the laboratory. In perhaps the most mind-bending of these appearances, Dr. Daszak, was quoted on NPR's "All Things Considered," vouching for the independence of the W.H.O. investigation.

"If there was political interference with what we're trying to say," Dr. Daszak assured the listeners, " ... we would push back."

***

From the beginning, it struck me -- and many others -- as outstandingly odd that the virus had erupted in a city where Chinese scientists ran experiments on bat viruses. It seemed even stranger when it emerged that one of the labs, the Wuhan branch of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, was next to the market still believed to be the epicenter of the outbreak. Sure, it could be a coincidence. But what a coincidence!

She notes that even when it became clear that the lab leak theory was a very viable theory which had been prematurely dismissed by people like Daszak and Fauci due to their own involvement in the Wuhan Bat Virus lab, her media friends on the left found ways to continue insinuating it was all a Trumpist Conspiracy Theory:

Even when news fell in its favor -- a World Health Organization report that left open the possibility of a lab leak, for example -- the developments tended to be described gingerly and layered with caveats. CNN, for example, qualified the W.H.O. news by adding, "experts have roundly condemned the theory of a laboratory origin" and "there's no proof of such origins or of a leak."

In fact, there is no conclusive proof to rule out either theory. Mentions of lab leak were frequently followed by warnings that "many" or "most" researchers didn't think it had happened, but I never found any basis for this sweeping assertion: Did somebody poll all the scientists?

Dr. Fauci has, in recent weeks, seemed to conflate the two theories or muddy the distinction between them.

"A lab leak could be that someone was out in the wild, maybe looking for different types of viruses in bats, got infected, went into a lab and was being studied in the lab and then came out of the lab," Dr. Fauci told Jim Acosta this month on CNN. "But if that's the definition of a lab leak, Jim, then that still is a natural occurrence."

That's my favorite: Even if it leaked from a lab, it's still a natural outbreak.

I mean, obviously he's a Real Scientist who has an open mind and just goes where the evidence takes him, right? He's definitely not a zealot who will twist the facts violently to support the One Truth he knows in his heart must be right.

27 This has long been my problem with Gingrich. He's completely a beltway insider, he parties and hangs out with these people. The Contract With America thing was great, but almost none of it actually opposed Democrat agenda, it was only procedural and corruption-fighting stuff. It streamlined the system and made it run better, and got rid of corruption through rule changes (which the Democrats swapped right back once they got power back), but didn't actually have any "stop the madness" stuff in a legislative agenda.

The only thing that was distinctly conservative about the movement was reducing spending to balance the budget. Which, they sort of managed, over Clinton's objections. But when it came time to cut spending, they blinked at the last moment and it all came apart.

Fauci knew there was no vaccine that had shown any favorable results in animal testing on corona type viruses. In fact, he knew the results were just the opposite - a little something called VAED, or vaccine associated enhanced disease.

That little video of him that appeared recently where a young AA male berates him? Inside job photographer/chronicler. Of course Fauci is staying on the fed payroll for the insurance protection. To go naked now when the truth is slowly playing could take all his ill-gotten gains from him. Every penny.

Except they didn't. The emails make this pretty clear when you tug on the threads those initial warnings are referring to.

The man-made nature of this was provable by anyone who knew where to look by the end of December 2019. Fauci and Daszak knew where to look because it was their project, and their efforts at suppression are well documented; everyone else got sufficient clues in spring 2020, and the dots were publicly connected going all the way back to the DARPA proposal by spring 2021 at the latest.

It took two years and Musk buying Twitter to fully pry the lid off of what were openly available facts for anyone not stuck in the MSM/big tech censorship bubble.

64 As for Dr.

Daszak aside, "disinterested" cannot be used in combination with "Red China" and "The World Health Organization."

China is a big force. Not as big as a lot of people give it credit for, but there are certain major institutions that Red China controls completely. The WHO is one of those institutions. It is wholly owned by the CCP, and has been for quite some time.

W: That's because two weeks really means indefinitely.
P: Huh. I like the sound of that.
W: We're also going to scare everyone into wearing these stupid face masks all the time to prevent the spread of this virus.
P: Do these masks actually do anything?

Fuck the vaccines; Fauci knew that several treatments were identified as cures 1-2 years prior to the outbreak. Mostly the same ones the feds suppressed.

We know he knew this because the original DARPA grant application called them out as a risk mitigation vs. gain-of-function concerns. After rejection from DARPA they turned to funding from Fauci, which was made (barely) possible by some last minute EO's from Obama on his way out of office.

I strongly suspect that's the real point of the exercise, and how they'll attempt to massage this to deflect from the real problem.

"A natural virus under research escaped from the lab" is very bad indeed - but nowhere near as bad as "a synthesized virus that we helped create in contravention of the law escaped from the lab."

One is a natural basis, albeit with a synthetic originator. The other is something that never existed in nature, never should have existed, was created deliberately, its creation was illegal, then they lost control of it.

"Whoops! Nature! Whaddya gonna do?!" is a much better explanation. Cede the "lab leak" point and then contain it to that while icing out gain-of-function as a possible attribute of the incident.

I think contextually, you have to remember Fauci was seen as one of the foremost experts at the time. That makes all of this even more insidious. Rather than yielding to the proven scientific process, permitting dissent, cataloguing and testing different ideas or theories he sought to suppress it. This should have been the first clue for anyone that something was amiss here. His sine qua non because trying to crush people personally, silence them, cut them out of research grants, call them pejoratives or attack peoples credibility. Notice none of that has anything to do with science or the truth. It's obfuscation, diversion and authoritarian. The minute anyone uses all or part of that they are trying to hide the truth. Remember it's always the one who doesn't want visibility or exploration towards achieving the truth who is the guilty party.

The day before Thanksgiving (2022), Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, along with Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, deposed Anthony Fauci (head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases [NIAID]) at the National Institutes for Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

While the deposition uncovered no smoking guns, the sheer volume of things Fauci “couldn’t recall” or “couldn’t remember,” along with his obvious attempts at providing misleading and deceptive responses, collectively damned his testimony.

No reasonable observer could find his testimony to be credible. Simply put: he lied even when the truth would have made a better story.

118 I have a feeling that the majority of people (and by which I mean non-leftists) are still not very far along in getting caught up on what all is actually known now about what happened.

This was not something that just mysteriously popped up in 2019. Fauci and NIH/CDC were not ginuinely responding to this thing as if it's coming out of nowhere - it was theater.

They made this. We now know they made this, and the info proving this has been publicly available for a couple of years now - as has information detailing the start of their coverup efforts.

Most of the categories now seem to deal with art, literature, pop culture, politics... all "humanities" shit. Very little in the way of physics, chemistry, etc.

So finally she says the category is Math and I think to myself oh this should be good, finally they're asking a question that isn't Marxist Critical Bullshit.

The question was - I shit you not - This math symbol, a sideways V, is also the same thing that an oppressed people might feel. The answer being (fetch) "less than".

I mean, not only was it a third grade level question at BEST, and supposedly aimed at adult experts in general knowledge and insanely obscure trivia, but it's *that* shit. Rather than deferring to scientific decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Supreme Court often struck them down. The Supreme Court similarly overturned the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention eviction moratorium despite findings that evictions contribute to the spread of SARS-CoV-2.

The WHO’s vaccines advisors said Tuesday they don’t recommend annual Covid-19 vaccine boosters for healthy adults under ages 50 to 60 after they have received their first vaccine and booster, and they no longer recommend vaccinating healthy children or teens against the virus.

Health authorities in the U.S. and many other countries continue to recommend a dose of a bivalent Covid-19 vaccine booster for anyone over the age of 6 months. The latest WHO guidelines represent a significant step away from that stance, and come as Covid-19 vaccine makers face pushback in the U.S. over pricing and as health officials consider a postpandemic future.

Rand Paul has been on the legislative side of the government, not the executive side. Perhaps that's the confusion. 180 I believe it was in those depositions for the state cases that the ridiculous Fauci admitted there was no science backing up the benefit of masks. Something easily known before and during The Great Idiocy. CDC itself helpfully published a meta-study in *May 2020* repeating the basic conclusion (with some weak a**-covering mini-claim about N95s, which was helpfully debunked by studies shortly to follow).

But the whole origins thing, in context, was/is a distraction. Regardless of origin, and histrionic corruption/misconduct by scum like Fauci and the corrupt, incompetent institutions, the "so what" of all this was the *response* to the epidemic. That's were the economic, social, and medical damage was done.

And that of course was *also* well understood, already. "Mitigation" was/is a fantasy. As the control group (Sweden, FL, a few other jurisdictions) demonstrated - redundantly. There was almost certainly literally *zero* benefit from *any* of it. Zero. Regardless of origin (definitely a legitimate topic and obviously one soaked in corruption and misconduct), that's the main issue. Any discussion of that? Of course not.

Its not that they go cackling into rooms dressed in a black suit and hold a pillow over someone's face.

Its that they get money to use certain kinds of treatments and are banned from using others, which results in death.

187 I believe they've largely killed trust in the public health system forever. Any honest thinking person can see very clearly what happened here. This was not only a grotesque abuse of power, but it distinctly shows how corrupt and grotesquely flawed these people are. Medicine use to be a collaborative, thoughtful, iterative process that functioned on verifiable truths, best known practices and an effort to do not harm. All of those have now been corrupted by politics and peoples personal biases. There are still doctors insisting on vaccines for populations who are not at risk, and have more to lose health wise from taking them. Ditto mask, etc. Meanwhile any interested person can go online (now) and read the volumes of research disproving all of that. That doesn't inspire trust. It makes people doubt motives.

While Russia admittedly had China as a fallback customer/trading partner, it pretty well proved that it can function without Western/American economic activity. My guess is this will be the main takeaway from the Ukraine clusterfuck. Economic disengagement from both the United States and China is admittedly difficult, but that shows it is possible as to one prong.

The purpose of a cartel is to provide "efficient and standard" products with the best possible profit without being distracted by competition using the government to make sure there is no cheating by the members of the cartel.

It really means excluding competition, running the prices as high as possible rake off the highest profit while providing minimal treatment to patients at a fixed rate while providing no possibility of escape.

I don't think so, not at the root. People working hard blowing off some steam isn't that unusual. If anything, it is humanizing. That automaton stops being robot and starts being a person again.

But the underlying conditions weren't there for that. To see nurses dancing on their breaks and have it be humanizing and endearing, you have to believe it. Too many people just didn't believe it, not even then. Too much didn't match up. It was coordinated, and the dismissal of 100 years of respiratory viruses and responses to them was thrown out the window, simultaneously, around the globe in every civilized nation, and those nations pushed the less developed nations to do the same.

Remember the Brazilian villager who carried his grandfather for six hours through the rain forest to get his COVID shot and the absurdity of it?

I think it was panic, just like here at the beginning before it converted seamlessly into a revolutionary campaign.

They knew it was a lab leak. They had no idea what it was. They grossly overreacted because they knew they were dealing with something synthetic but they didn't know what it was or what the outcome would be. It turned out not to be that big a deal, all things considered - but I very strongly suspect they had no idea about that at the beginning. 249 Part of it is that people are human. Not everyone reacts well under pressure or in extraordinary situations. But then maybe you shouldn't be a doctor (or the guy standing next to me when we're getting shot at). Or perhaps you should just admit what you don't know and take the time, patience and wisdom to ply the right course. The people I saw panic the most during COVID were people who often never pondered their own mortality, and to save themselves were willing to trample everyone else. The rest were just biased, not very smart or incompetent.

They used it to rob us blind and build new $ for themselves. Now services are being substancially cut in many areas, while others are inappropriately expanded & all cry Medicare funding is the problem.

They're screwing with the medical system as they've screwed with the educational system; both in unison.

257 It was coordinated, and the dismissal of 100 years of respiratory viruses and responses to them was thrown out the window, simultaneously, around the globe in every civilized nation, and those nations pushed the less developed nations to do the same.

That was what blew my mind. We saw, right away, the cruise ship stuff that immediately said "this is not a big deal". Because we've SEEN simple stomach viruses absolutely shut a cruise ship down.

We saw USC and UCLA studies that said "hey, this shit is in everybody's nose" get dismissed out of hand. And as we all know, USC and UCLA are huge Trump areas - so they would have obviously cooked the books to support The Don.

That is exactly - almost precisely - not how anything works. Big cities evolve, always, as the population center by which the raw goods - food and materials - of the surrounding smaller areas are collected and refined.

For example, drive around any urban area near you. You'll see factories and banks. You won't see farms. Hell, you won't see green grass. You won't see mines.

Two things radiate from big cities - cash and finished goods. Everything else floods in. Don't believe me ? Go take a look at railways. Interstates. All designed to facilitate the flow of raw materials into cities.

What happens when the surrounding areas stop that supply for thirty days ? Spoiler alert - its not the surround areas that starve. And I picked thirty days for a very specific reason.

I think it was entirely that, yeah. The initial reaction was panic over a likely lab leak of a possible bioweapon. Just as it became clear that things were actually okay, they went full-throttle to retain the power they had seized.

Easter of 2020 is a decent point to use as the conversion. Before that, it was probably panic. By then, though, it was an op. I don't think it was an op from the first, but it became one soon enough after that I don't argue the point.

3) That IVM was effective if given early in the progression of the disease

308 It turned out not to be that big a deal, all things considered - but I very strongly suspect they had no idea about that at the beginning. They knee-jerked, hard, in the face of the unknown and in a panic move to avoid being blamed and punished like they were for SARS.

Diamond Princess Cruise Ship. They KNEW after two weeks it wasn't shit. Out of 3200 people on board, 90% old people, it could only kill 11.

THAT was proof it wasn't 1918 or the Black Death.

309 Could be, but for once they were not shy about letting the rest of the world see the videos. This from a country that slaps you around just for saying "boo." Yet, they allowed the videos to get out.

There was also a Navy ship that had some similar low numbers. I want to say the Theodore Roosevelt[/], but maybe that was one of the ones that hit another ship. (Or the one where the front fell off?)

Anyway, whatever ship it was, it was hundreds of people in good physical condition and IIRC the official report was "not a big deal lol."

Diamond Princess is more telling, though, since the elderly are more at risk. Still, the Spanish Flu of yore is proof that sometimes heathy and in-good-shape people can be more at risk that one expects.

And as I (and others) mention semi-constantly-- what about the homeless population?

That's where I'm at. And the "videos" that managed to get out were always made by people who were "scared to death" of being caught and having to whisper into the microphone for the chaser. An op, in my opinion.

332 And if that wasn't enough, they had an entire aircraft carrier as a closed environment test bed. They knew everything they needed to know.

Both the carrier and cruise ships were incredibly good strokes of luck. Because you couldn't dream up a better test case - in worst case conditions - regarding just how contagious a virus could be than a ship.

Yet - we ignored the results.

334 And as I (and others) mention semi-constantly-- what about the homeless population?

Yeah that one has been a real puzzler for years. People paying attention were asking about that: these are people who are in horrible health, living outside, many of them elderly. So where were the body bags? Why weren't we seeing this horrendous death toll with bums and hobos?

I mean you KNOW they would have been pushing this if it was a serious issue. It would be this nearly completely overlapping Venn Diagram of the media's two favorite topics: Wuhan Flu and Homeless. There would have been long lingering shots of sad bums with their trash all around them, and sad stats on the screen. CNN would have dedicated an entire section of their coverage to that every day.

But no: nothing.
