"QAnon Shaman" Jacob Chansley Released from Prison into Halfway House
Update: Order Was Signed Back in January

He was released after the exhibition of video hidden by our criminal government showing Capitol Police granting him permission to be in the building.

Note he's still in the criminal system -- he's still under government supervision in the halfway house. He's still a prisoner, just not in prison.

It's not clear to me if this is some kind of early release forced by the video. It seems to be the government's attempt to make this go away -- but they won't admit that.

The lawyer who represented the 'QAnon Shaman' in his trial for storming the Capitol on January 6 has said that his client has been released from prison to a halfway house.

Jacob Chansley, 35, pleaded guilty in September 2021 to civil disorder and violent entry to the Capitol, among other charges, and was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison.

In a statement to DailyMail.com on Thursday his attorney Albert S. Watkins said he had been released from prison to the custody of a halfway house.

'After serving eleven months in solitary prior to his sentence being imposed, and only 16 months of his sentence thereafter, it is appropriate this gentle and intelligent young man be permitted to move forward with the next stage of what undoubtedly will be a law abiding and enriching life,' said Watkins.

'I applaud the decision of the US Bureau of Prison in this regard,' added Watkins.

Bureau of Prison records confirmed that Chansley is in the custody of the Residential Reentry Management field office in Phoenix, with a release date set for May 25.

It was not immediately clear what led to Chansley's early release, and Watkins declined to comment, saying: 'This was a decision of the US Bureau of Prisons. I cannot speak for the US Bureau of Prisons.'

Federal guidelines allow for reduced prison time due to good behavior, but under those guidelines Chansley would have expected to serve at least 35 months and 22 days of his 41-month sentence.

Instead, he was transferred to the halfway house after just 27 months in prison, including the time served prior to his sentencing.

So was this always the plan or does this represent the government trying to avoid being sanctioned for hiding exculpatory evidence from an accused?

Update: Per no less an expert than Julie Kelly: This probation order was signed in January. So this was always the plan, and not, apparently, the criminal government reacting to their crimes being exposed.

15 Reprising my comment from the last thread:

Heard [Chansley's lawyer Bill] Shipley interviewed on some national radio show (maybe Gorka) a couple of weeks ago. He noted that Chansley, with good behavior and participation in some programs, was going to be released soon into the halfway house anyway (so not sure that this is any kind of concession by the Deep State thugs).

I hope Shipley sues the f*ck out of everyone he can though and wins. Maybe Chansley will end up like the Covington kid Nick Sandmann with hundreds of millions ... even though it'll likely be increasingly -- and inevitably -- worthless taxpayer dollars.

Whenever facing a question like this, ask yourself another question: "of the options provided, which is worse?"

Whichever one is worse is more likely. So the government is worried about yet more noise around this topic (not being sanctioned, I don't think - the government is above the law and there is no accountability) and want it to go away so people like you quit asking non-patriotic questions.

Brendan Straka was talking the other day about the indignities of being "on parole". They make it sound like it is a nothing burger but he has to report to a parole officer on a regular basis. He has to take drug tests. The possibility of being sent back to jail is constantly hanging over his head. You have to have travel approved.
They have in effect socially castrated these people.

I've heard that we should credit the start of WWII to March 16, 1939. At the Munich Conference of 1938, Britain and France agreed to let Hitler have Czechoslovakia's Sudetenland in.exchange for his promise to not seek any other territorial expansion. On March 16, 1939, he broke that promise and occupied the rest pf Czechoslovakia. At that point, it became apparent that no negotiations with Hitler were possible because he would not honor his word. This is where we are with the Dmocrats generally and Biden specifically.

The House, now in nominal Republican hands has oversight of the Capitol Police, released some videos of J6 and if I'm not mistaken has some level of oversight over most things political as they pertain to the Capitol City's government.

227 I can't do this today. It just seems so hopeless.
Two military helicopters crashed in Kentucky killing 9 service members. How does this happen? Did they crash into each other? We're the pilots incompetent because they were not trained properly or were they given the job because they checked some boxes. Or were the helicopters not serviced properly because the mechanics were incompetent for the same reason. How do two helicopters crash during a training exercise. 9 people who chose to server their country for no reason. How is this less of a tragedy than the tranny shooting. Yet, no big headlines. Ho Hum. Soldiers died. Too bad.
Let's talk about drag shows on military bases.

Then, Graham tried two times to ramble off on a tangent about how China is hacking and stealing IP and whatnot. 300 Is there another sinister reason why Republicans accept school shootings? (NOT satire)

Republicans hate public education. Of that there can be no doubt. They have been demonizing public schools, and public school teachers, for decades now. Their newest twist is the “Don’t Say Gay/Don’t Teach History/Don’t Read Books” legislation they've been pushing.

Tennessee state legislator Tim Burchett said he didn’t worry that his children might die in a school shooting, as they’re homeschooled (never mind the fact that a gun in a home is far more likely to harm the home’s residents than an intruder.)

Vouchers are specifically designed to be JUST enough money that middle class and wealthy parents can use them, or can homeschool, while the children of poorer parents are left to languish in underfunded public schools.

is it possible that Republicans’ indifference to, nay their acceptance of, school shootings is driven in part by their animus to public education entirely? Do they see these massacres as another tool by which they can drive parents to home school their kids and eventually destroy public education?

What an odd position. Yes, I do hate public education. Yes, I do want to see the public school system (well, meta-system) in this country destroyed. No, I do not "not care about school shootings."

School shootings are a tragedy and often, an avoidable tragedy. Everything about the current system is designed to radicalize, drug or encourage deviant behavior - or all of these things in combination. The main thing we can do to prevent school shootings has nothing to do with guns and everything to do with removing the very system that is tailor-made to produce school shooters: the schools themselves.

Reducing school shootings is not the primary reason that I want to see the public education complex dismantled, but it will be a side effect of that dismantlement.

367 If MSNBC can be believed about baseball rules changes:

at bat second clock (think shot clock in NBA)
bigger bases (think Jimmy's big soled sneakers)
no infield shift (why leave out mandating where outfielders *must* be, too)

As a kid and Celtic fan many of our league's games were preventing us by mandating that after a basket the ref had to step in. I was given a technical and removed from the game for rejecting that notion.

Everything is wrong.

Basically disney got together with democrats on their current governance board and signed an agreement in perpetuity to let disney do whatever it wants to do on their land.

Problem for disney is, it will be overturned the first time it goes to court. It basically boils down to making perpetual agreements that bind everyone involved forever and those have been illegal time and time again. It's sort of like congress trying to bind a future congress, it's illegal.

No, dumbass, that doesn't logically follow at all. I want to change X. I just realize your proposal is stupid and you should feel bad.

The part that concerns me is where he and his were at the wheel. In D.C. he'll be surrounded by the people that did this to him. They'll be his "team." They'll be the employees working for him and making sure the government is operating like he wants.

Good experience, I guess.

The Reedy Creek board, just before they were legislated out of existence, voted Disney some rights in perpetuity (or as close as they could). I doubt such a grant is legal, and I am sure that such a scorched-earth tactic will not be appreciated by the FL legislature.

This is at the point where Bugs says "I hope you realize this means war."

The Reedy Creek board was wholly controlled by Disney. I don't think the government of FL had any say in it's proceedings. Reedy Creek did this as they were turning off the lights.

We just saw Lindsey Graham complain about a bill and how the bill infringes on rights and is a clear over-reach by the government.

And he didn't know he's the sponsor of the bill.

386 155 They knew all along he wasn't guilty of anything, but only released him when proof was shown to the world. So, Tucker... what else are you holding and not releasing, hmmm???
*******************

that's not logic, that's innuendo. You are making naked assumptions w/o evidence.

FWIW, I distinctly recall Tucker saying in one of J6 monologues that the shaman "apparently will be released very soon."

So, Tucker's revelations didn't "cause" the shaman to be released.

Probably because the WSJ reporter was just arrested as a spy.

Was he a spy? I dunno. Probably. He's an American "journalist" and American journalists are all extensions of the state, so the odds are decent.

He was in Ekatarinaburg, very far from his haunts in Moscow, supposedly trying to find out how regular Russians feel about the Wagner unit. Now what this down does have is a lot of Russian military industry. The only other reason you might pick that town for Western audiences is that's where the Communists packed off the Tsar and his family and executed them.

If he'd been doing crowd interviews in Moscow, or another moderate sized city I'd credit more the 'provocation' idea, but given the laziness of modern newsies and where he was, I come down more on the other side.

390 Ace,

As someone familiar with "terrorist" cases, the most common route for a sentence reduction without public comment is when the prisoner turns state's evidence while incarcerated. I find similar cases all the time when dealing with convicted jihadis, some of whom simply disappear from the Federal Bureau of Prisons registry (Usually looks like -- release date: unknown Location: Not in BP custody) with no public comment, even when asked. This seems far more likely IMHO and the timing may just be coincidence.

392 Regarding your update, Ace. It is still possible, even probable they signed the order to deflect the exposure of their hiding evidence. They knew in January that the Republicans would be investigating their activities. Does the order signed in January have a specific date for the release? If so, then Kelly is right. But if it didn't, then it just a card to be played when it was needed and the time was now.
