Firing up a coal-burning miniature train. I think it burns coal, but I'm not sure if the coal is burned just to produce smoke, while the train actually runs on electricity, or if the thing is actually propelled by the energy of the burning coal.

At the Cedar Point Amusement park they have smallish steam locos the power the trains circling the park. They are a tad bigger than those shown in the clip however.

I've seen small ones like that run burning alcohol or 'methylated spirits' but I think that one really does run on coal because of the dense smoke and the size of the engine/load it carries.

Took a long time to start it up to reduce thermal shock, if I recall. The trains were museum pieces, and tough to repair/ replace.

I bungee jumped while in NYC back in the mid 90d,

Business meeting broke up, and we partied up and down the bars that lined the Hudson River , opposite the WTCs.

Got a video of it. Came home and said to my ex, hey want to see the speech I gave to the bosses?

She bit, brought my boys in…they were around 12 and 7.

There's one in the Chattanooga steam engine museum (not the Choo Choo, but outside of town). One of seven working steam engines iirc, and there's a handmade steam engine model in the main building. It's amazing. It's behind glass and not, though.

That place is worth a visit. The best part is going through the tunnel and everyone realizing that the open windows let in the burning soot.

I wound up runnning the whole show when I did it. I knew more on fundamentals of mechanics than anyone there including the owner. They asked me to go with them but I had a 5 year old and didn't want to be gone that long.
Also got an offer on a conversation I had with a lead mech at Great America. I started bullshiting with him on the tram (ski gondola) that goes across the park. Dude's like "I'll give you $50.00/hour if you'll come to work for me."

Easier said than done! We used to jump river cliffs from about 50 feet up. The speed and air drag from that far up really force your limbs apart, so it is some effort for a clean entry.

After an afternoon of jumping i'd have a bruise stripe running from each armpit to wrist, so it's not something you can perfect in one day.
(Groin injuries from river rope swing mishaps are another story)

There is a live steam trains at Tilden Park, a few miles east of Berkeley CA.

Adjacent to this track, via a train stop, are the tracks of "Golden Gate Live Steamers" http://goldengatels.org/

They have several live steam engines, the size shown in the video, maybe 1 track gauge smaller, as well as larger (a 1/6-scale Shay is one of the larger ones, I think). They have monthly meetings, and there are usually a couple of guys firing up and running their steam engines.

Yes, these are real steam engines, coal-fired and everything. There are also a couple of electric engines, that run on a couple of car batteries.

The clubhouse (on the website) has many photographs of the men who built the engines. All were machinist-made, mostly from the 40's, 50's and some in the 60's.

There are more oddities on the Metro now. I still take it to work. Thankfully, my hours help in the commute as the metro is usually not crowded when I'm on. As you know I watched him for many nights in 2017 because he had people like John Solomon and Sara Carter and other who were exposing the Russia hoax before anyone else. It was painful because Hannity is such an insufferable dick but he was the only one actually reporting on that stuff.

Also, note there is no longer any dialogue around the people who truly suffered from a gender issue in which reassignment made sense as there was a biological component.
