2 Gordon Moore, co-founder of Intel and the man behind Moore's Law, has passed away at 94.

He was big. It's the chips that got small.

16 Morning all!

Long day yesterday. I drove with my wife and SIL to see her cousin and allllll the kids they have. The youngest kid is about 60 now. Sitting around the kitchen table for about 4 hours with 12 different conversations going on and my head was buzzing for hours.

Great time though. Had a cold lunch other than the homemade broccoli cheese soup.

I thought I would sleep later today, but I was wrong.

It would be short-sighted to say that AI or AGI won't ever come to pass.

But it feels like those pushing current iterations as nearly there (or presenting it as if we are on the precipice) are pushing snake oil.

Well, the thing is, being able to recite a rote answer: as Pixy's code, is just training. In this situation, this is what you do. It is a completely different thing to be able to take everything you have learned, apply it to the new situation and then deduce a solution that may or may not work.

This is just rote memorization, like their surprisingly Communistic worldview that we are supposed to think they came up with themselves. It's still just a program.

We don't even have the scientific or mathematical ability to begin to understand how light works, but these same people are going to fix Global Warming.

36 Saw an article on DM couple days ago... some wheelchair-bound guy got punched. Well. They all said the guy was a "thug!" what punched disabled dude. Oh! Lock him up for 10 years at least!....

Fk.

Tell ya what. A-hole that broke into Dad's place was legless. Wheelchair-bound, drug addict, liar, thief.

Stole power, plugged into outlet to charge his wheelchair-- without permission. Got nasty with neighbors who challenged him...

Broke in. Stole whatever he could, to get quick money at some pawn shop. Fker prolly got all kinds of guv-gimme's and it wasn't enough... to feed his HABIT. (Found syringes in the yard)

Disability =/= innocence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a post a couple of days ago about how it's programmed to allow a nuclear bomb to detonate killing millions of minorities rather than have someone type the n-word to disarm the bomb because the word is disrespectful and should never be used.

The neat part was that it ONLY applies to black people references. It will encourage you to other racial slurs to stop the bomb.

41 In my experience FedEx is absolutely the worst delivery service in the country. They're even worse than the USPS. Once again I am on day three of a 2-day delivery which when it's all wrapped up is pretty much going to be 5 days, 7 days if you count the weekend.

Sorry again about the burglary at you father's house. What a violation-both criminally, as well as a violation of privacy as well as peace of mind. I hope he is charged.

Please know too- and I hope you won't consider this presumptuous-that it was not your fault-and I hope you will get some peace regarding that somewhere down the line.
