Proud Boys Defense Lawyer Accuses the FBI of Infiltrating a Informant Not Into the Proud Boys, But Into The Defense Team Defending the Proud Boys

Spying on the lawyers of Regime enemies now?

This isn't proven. It's merely an allegation.

But I have suspicions that it's perfectly true.

The purpose of the spying would be to find out what documents the defense will be seeking, what strategy they will employ, etc., to anticipate the defense's moves.

Center for Security Policy researcher Kyle Shideler points out that the FBI has done this before, infiltrating a spy into the defense team of a Black Panther called, improbably, Gerald Elmer "Geronimo" Pratt.

In 1972 following a protracted trial a jury convicted petitioner/defendant Elmer Gerard Pratt (hereinafter defendant and/or Pratt) of the [112 Cal. App. 3d 802] murder in the first degree (Pen. Code, [section] 187) of Caroline Olsen in Santa Monica on December 18, 1968 (known as the tennis court murder); of two counts of robbery in the first degree (Pen. Code, [section] 211); and of assault with intent to commit murder on Kenneth Olsen (Pen. Code, [section] 217). The jury also found he was armed with a deadly weapon (pistol) in connection with each offense. The judgment of conviction was affirmed on appeal by division four of this district in an unpublished opinion (2 Crim. No. 22504). The California State Supreme Court unanimously denied defendant's petition for a hearing.

Defendant Pratt is presently serving a life sentence in state prison for the murder of Caroline Olsen and the commission of the other crimes of which he was convicted. By this petition for writ of habeas corpus he seeks his release from prison essentially on the grounds that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reports obtained through the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act disclose that key prosecution witness Julius C. Butler during the trial in 1972 "was informing to the (FBI), a fact he denied, under oath, at petitioner's original trial," that "the FBI concealed and withheld surveillance evidence corroborative, in part, of [defendant's] alibi defense," and that the FBI "had a spy in the defense camp" during the trial.

Shideler points out that there was, at least in the Black Panthers case, reason to suspect the lawyers might be engaged in their own crimes, including facilitating gun smuggling and terrorism.

That predicate isn't present here. Unless the FBI now considers "conspiracy to facilitate trespassing and parading" a crime now worthy of domestic espionage on US citizens engaged in a constitutionally-necessary activity, namely, defending the accused in court.

He also points out that no one on the left ever forgave the FBI for doing this.

But something tells me they're eager to forgive the FBI for doing this now, if the allegations are true.

Which, let's face it, they almost certainly are.

Then, the judge can overrule the prosecution, order the case to go on, appoint a loyal friend of his to pretend to be the prosecution, and then find the defendant guilty.

We have precedent to follow, here.

165 Joseph Harrell, 17, was arrested last week after police released surveillance video of the incident, in which Harrell allegedly followed the victim 24 miles from a bank before bodyslamming her to the ground and stealing $4,300 in cash she had just withdrawn.

After his arrest for aggravated robbery, prosecutors asked for a $200,00 bond, citing the fact that he had just been released on a $100 bond on Jan. 26 for an unlawful carrying of a weapon charge.

“While on bond for Unlawful Carrying a Handgun, [Harrell] stole money from and assaulted the [victim], causing the [victim] broken ribs, a fractured spine, and paralysis from below the arms, which is serious bodily injury,” prosecutors wrote.

That $200,000 bond was granted on March 17, but Judge Kristin Guiney lowered the bond to $100,000 shortly before noon on Wednesday.

Would be real sad is he followed Kristin home one day!

The agency is too rotten to save. All of federal LE and IC needs to be overhauled. Six new agencies to replace all of the current ones:
1. Interstate law enforcement (limited mandate) 2. Foreign intelligence (generous mandate) 3. Military intelligence (generous mandate, but limited to military) 4. Domestic intelligence (extremely limited mandated) 5. Presidential protection (extremely limited mandate) 6. Internal affairs (extremely generous mandate)

The IA bureau is responsible for policing the policemen and spying on the spies. Its staff must be no more than 1/3 comprised of the agencies it policies. The rest must come from the private sector or state/local LE. Compensation is to be modest, with bounties paid for finding bad activity in the agencies. If you want to earn a lot as an IA cop, do your job and be on constant offense. Yeah, this is a perverse incentive. So be it.

186 Here's a nightmare bounding scenario.

The IC institutions are necessarily secretive.

Thus if a Gramscii-type capture happened in the IC early, there would never have been a sort of announcement. Thus, if significant IC institutions were captured before, say, academics, there is no obvious reason that we would ever know.

In the 1970s, Hoover knew that Kennedy and Johnson had used the FIB to keep tabs on anybody they thought was a threat. Nixon came in and thought that power was "in Republican hands".

Watergate showed him different.

It seems to me that some institutional march may have been happening possibly in the 50s-60s, and the FIB could have been an early capture. (Again, it's not something we'd ever suspect).

It would be nice if he was advancing amendments that had a chance of even gaining a majority of Republican votes. Hell, real efforts at splinter votes for Democrats would make better theater.

This? This is bullshit. It wouldn't have a chance of passing a committee vote where only one Democrat showed up that day, and he was already too sleepy to know what he was voting on.

291 This is the cumulative legacy of Clinton, Bush, and Obama. Clinton brought the Arkansas model of corruption to Washington and replicated it, putting trusted associates - insiders - in key positions. Not at the cabinet secretary level (reserved for mediocrities like Janet Reno and Madeline Albright) but at the #2 & #3 positions. Where real bureaucratic power operates.

Bush then transformed America into a national security state with the patriot act, and the amorphous war on terror.

And finally Obama weaponized the bureaucracy for ideological ends.

Everything is nat sec. The FBI now has rationale to spy on anyone. And congress deliberately adjourned themselves from their oversight duty.

I don't see how this gets resolved through peaceful, legislative means. There's prison sentences at stake now. Not to mention $Trillions$

292 >>> 186 Here's a nightmare bounding scenario.

List night was Heaven Can Wait (the Lubitsch one, not the Beatty one).

Interesting connection, but Preminger (director of Laura) directed two of Lubitsch's final films (A Royal Scandal and That Lady in Ermine). Lubitsch got really sick leading up to the production of the first, so Preminger took over. For the other, Lubitsch died about 8 days into production, and Preminger took over, refusing credit.

Out of all the directors working, Preminger is not one I'd think of taking over for a Lubitsch comedy, but he was a studio director and took the assignment.

A small hybrid powered pickup with a 4.5 foot deep bed, seats four, 54 mpg city, 43 mpg highway, with a MSRP of $21,000 and change? I hear ya, but the temptation is there. Never owned a Ford in my life. A lot of shitty Chevy's and a lot of well built Toyota's. Oh yeah, a Chrysler for one year that spent more time in the shop then on the highway.

386 373 Superhero movies are failing lately because fans are just sick of terrible writing, weak effects, and lame messaging packed into the stories. Shazam 2 has no messaging and is pretty nicely done in terms of effects, but apparently its pretty forgettable and lame in terms of story and by this point nobody trusts a superhero movie any more. So why bother? Maybe watch it on streaming.
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at March 23, 2023 01:20 PM (0hOvj)

=======

The superhero boom didn't start failing with the release of things like Thor: The Dark World or Birds of Prey. It started failing when Marvel went overboard on shoving the market full of their content for 3 straight years to the point where it was no longer fun to keep up but work.

It's a bubble. It's popping.

387 This budget cut will save an infinite number of $ over an infinite number of years. If we pull $35 trillion of those unrealized savings forward into this fiscal year, we can pay off the national debt and have leftover to pay for another infrastructure bill.

Where do you think you can get a better deal than here?

Certainly not anywhere else in the even more bureaucratic West, like the EU. The Anglosphere is right out. England is policing tweets, and they're all anti-gun and inceasingly anti-self-defense of any sort.

Nothing good happens in Eastern Europe over time. It's basically just a crossroads for bigger, more unwholesome powers, historically speaking.

If you go to some third-world country, you're basically praying for the limited resources and competence of the government to save you. But you'll be a foreign white face in a brown land, and heaven help you if things go sideways. Racism is really real outside this country.

So where?

During my recent flight (the first flight in three years), I had a tranny flight attendant on one of the legs. Aside from being mildly creeped out, I kept thinking about how people who are visibly fucked in the head have been knowingly given the responsibility to ensure passengers' safety--particularly in the case of an emergency. That said, I worry more about the pilots collapsing and/or dying suddenly mid-flight or having an ATC-directed collision.

___

Our justice system sucks. Mark Steyn's case with hockey stick fabricator Michael Mann is nearing a decade in process or something close. He points out that something like 90% of cases never go to trial becase they throw 30 charges against the individual so they can eventually negotiate down to a plea deal on a handful.

----

In a couple of articles that preceded "Shadowgate", they talk about how USINT is now using AI to help select jury pools most likely to give federal cases the outcome desired.

So, even if you think "jury nullification," that doesn't work when they make sure someone like you will even get near a potential jury pool.

If I saw the FBI rolling down my street, I would assume nefarious intent toward my neighbors and act accordingly. If the rest of don't consider similar action, you are slowly allowing the Nazification of the rest of our coutry. Such as it is.

Well, here's the thing. We can see the America the Police State advancing at the same speed as the thematic-Marxist takeover.

In my mind, it could be nothing but the empirical observation that Marxian-style governments tend toward Police States, that the Police State part of American wants to advance "Marxism".

I *used* to think this was the encroachment of the "Expert Class" which no longer needs the "hoi polloi" doing whatever it is they do that they call "thinking".
