59 I have massive allergies to dogs and cats dander and oaks and other pollens. Azaleas and mango trees in bloom have it out for me.

I have multiple cats and dogs now. No problem controlling allergies. Very minor breakthroughs occasionally. Very fortunate since I do love pets and couldn't have any since I was a kid.

77 So what's the proper treatment for a new leather holster, to soften/darken it up a bit? Not a nice or fancy one, a very simple one, an M3 shoulder holster for 1911s, WWII repro.

I believe some things people often use soften the leather up too much. The inside's fine, will smoothen up over time/use, but the strap and exterior are fairly stiff.

Just a (rare) frivolous impulse buy, very inexpensive, from a site where the owner is hilarious (and he makes things to true spec, including sourcing components from actual WWII vendors when they still exist). Will wear it on range duty days just to change things up, and alarm first-time shooters.

Do one nostril then the other. No pressure, squeeze or whatever. Just a natural flow. Nothing seems to happen for about 15 minutes and then... everything just runs out. Good for half a day or so.

I have a prescription for "Flonaze" or whatever it's called. Nasty shit. Doesn't work and causes nose bleeds.

I feel bad for Cohen, though. like everyone else in Trump's orbit, the Weissmann wrecking crew came by and gave them a line-by-line life readout and prosecuted anything they could. over prosecuted, "we're charging you with 300 years for taxi medallions since your dad didn't report a $2 tip in 1994 but we'll let you settle for 4 months if you agree that trump sold ultra nuclear secrets to russia."

I'd take that deal.

104 So what's the proper treatment for a new leather holster, to soften/darken it up a bit? Not a nice or fancy one, a very simple one, an M3 shoulder holster for 1911s, WWII repro.

I believe some things people often use soften the leather up too much. The inside's fine, will smoothen up over time/use, but the strap and exterior are fairly stiff.

Just a (rare) frivolous impulse buy, very inexpensive, from a site where the owner is hilarious (and he makes things to true spec, including sourcing components from actual WWII vendors when they still exist). Will wear it on range duty days just to change things up, and alarm first-time shooters.

Posted by: rhomboid at March 20, 2023 08:24 PM

I used to treat our leather gear for Civil War reenacting with Murphy's oil soap. Worked fine for me. I would not use it on expensive leather stuff, there are special (expensive) conditioning oils for that, but for cheap stuff it is OK.

Man must be like the honey bee and gather all he can.
Woman must be like blossom, with honey for just one man.
When gathering up his honey, the honey bee must be free,
But blossom must not ever go from bee to bee to bee!

199 > What's the the best type of bees?
____________

Honey bees from a local hive. Beekeepers in your particular area can help. Not for the faint of heart tho'. Expensive, difficult to manage and prone to die offs if not "happy."

Plus you must have flowering "stuff" those bees will take to. Flowers, trees, whatever.

A friend of ours tried it. Failed miserably. Cost $$.

210 189 Getting away from allergies and going to chronic joint pain, I've had some relief lately. I've only lived full time for 10 years "down South". Up North and back East they didn't sell BC or Goody powder. For the past week I've been using the BC stuff and it's giving some relief. Just aspirin, caffeine, and baking soda, but the mix must be right. Even getting a pretty good night's sleep if I dose with it an hour or so before hitting the rack.

My older brother put 3 Goody powders together and just before he swallowed them he pulled in air to sneeze. Snorted them up his nose and went to choke-puking in the Waffle House parking lot. Blew scrambled eggs out his nose. All the other drunks gathered round to marvel at his performance. I tell ya it was a hell of a show.
