Florida professor aiming to spend 100 days in undersea habitat
March 16 (UPI) -- A University of South Florida professor has spent the past 16 days in a structure located 22 feet under the sea -- and he is planning to remain until he hits a total of 100 days. Joe Dituri, an associate professor at the University of South Florida, is living in an underwater hotel dubbed the Jules Undersea Lodge, located 22 feet below the surface in a Key Largo lagoon.

A trespasser who tried to break into several helicopters crashed while trying to fly off on one of them. The thief made his way into Sacramento Executive Airport between 4am and 6am on Wednesday and tried to start four choppers on the tarmac, police said. Then the individual managed to get one of the helicopters started – but wound up crashing. The thief fled the scene.
Had he been taken away in a body bag he would have made Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

Miss Linda and I just got back from the nearby Hooters restaurant. Aside from one or two blonde hostesses, I was kind of disappointed in the waitress eye candy. A couple of the girls weren't fat, exactly, but they sure could have used the old Abdominizer or a gym membership. Still, it's way better than the buffalo and hippos, male and female, who pretend to serve you at my local Applebees.
Food was good, though.

If he's a marine biologist or something, that makes perfect sense as he could be researching what it would take to create long-term underwater research stations, analogous to the International Space Station.
If he's a professor of Gender Studies, then maybe they should let him spend the next 100 years down there...for a different kind of research.

The song is very well done. In my mind's eye, during the instrumental portions, I can see giraffes loping across the Serengeti, see those flat-topped trees with the sunset shining through them, a cheetah flashing across open ground after an antelope, etc.

Zombies and Superheroes in a devastated LA.
The first couple books are pretty decent. The author understands Superman more than he does Batman (their analogues in his series, at least.) However, he understands Superman FAR better than any of the yahoos in charge of the comics movies today.
The later books kind of fall off though.

Superman is on one end of the scale, I think a fascinating character would be the badass normal who keeps Metropolis safe while Big Blue knocks the fuck out of the world ending threats.

I think for an ironic twist I will have the sanest most human loving character be an AI robot.

Both genres are meant to highlight the construction and deconstruction of society and its members.

Grew up in an area where we used to "harvest" crawfish for eating or for bait. Then when I joined the Army, I learned there were other shellfish which were MUCH better.
Have to say I prefer west coast crab (King & Snow) over east coast (Dungy & Blue). Also someone please tell the Chesapeake Bay people that you DO NOT need to add a pound of Old Bay per pound of crab!!!!!!

The Pulp to Golden Age transition of heroes was awesome societally and culturally. The pantheon of superheroes and the genre were the American equivalent of Greek myth.

I am ruined for any crab cakes other than Maryland. Crab cakes do not have peppers in them, or onions. Oh FFS. Just get a nice AK red or silver salmon filet, put on a little pepper and a bit of garlic, slice a lemon over the top and grill it until it flakes. Divine. You can do it under the broiler, but it isn't quite so sublime without the charcoal smoke.

Speaking of pizza, I got a free one this evening. Went to meet friends at a pub in downtown Mesa. They had food truck out front, selling pizzas. I ordered one. The guy from the pizza truck brings it inside to me, all apologetic, "It had a hole in the crust, and some of the cheese leaked out. I am making you a new one." I tried to refuse it, as the first one was perfectly fine. He wouldn't hear of it, so I came home with two uneaten slices in one box, and a complete uneaten pizza in the other.

My walk to Jr. H.S. was epic, as we used a friend's Clairmont "false address" to get me to schools not already on the downhill trend of "diversity". Yeah, 1970s, and that was a THANG, even then. (but they called it "integration", you see)

That was my walk and sometimes bicycle ride to Jr. H.S.
Same address to James Madison H.S., Doliva Dr., also Clairmont.
Uphill, both ways, but never snow.
