The person turning right used only their right hand to make the turn. At the end of the turn, they had jammed their hand between the steering wheel and their leg. They panicked trying to get themselves unjammed, and punched the gas.

There's no point in having any sort of debate or discussion with a lot of people. It too often comes down to the pigeon playing chess analogy.

And social media has made it much, much worse. Its turned everyone into a sophist, where they know just enough on topics and learned just enough tactics in argument to shout down or emotionally deflect anything being said, even if its nonsense. And even if you demolish them completely in the argument, if you mispelled a word somewhere, well falsus in Uno, falsus in omnibus. Your misspelling negates your entire argument.

If somehow you manage to get them to say "Ok yeah you were right there, I had it wrong" they'll be back the next day to the same discredited crap they agreed was false.

The front wheel appears to be straightening out and be straight at impact, so the 'stuck wheel turn' is out.

I go for the 'not looking directly ahead' and sped up too quick/miscalculated direction coming out of turn because not paying attention, whether phone or some other distraction.

I had a conversation with a co-worker once on gun control. He had taken the very hardline ban all guns position. Instead of stating my actual position on guns, I mildly disagreed and said something like people should be able to protect themselves. At this minor pushback, he unleashed the nuclear trump card that HE WAS A SURVIVOR OF THE LAS VEGAS SHOOTING AND HOW DARE YOU?!?

I was genuinely shocked and said something like, "Oh my gosh, how terrible. I'm glad you're OK. Was anyone with you hurt?" After a short time, he revealed he wasn't actually at the concert, he was just in Vegas at the time. I was livid, but I mostly kept a civil tongue, basically just saying he shouldn't make up stories just to win arguments. He agreed he shouldn't do that.

A few months later, I overheard him telling someone else he was a survivor of the Las Vegas shooting.

I was under the impression that the deep ocean trenches were relatively devoid of life, maybe some worms in the mud. The sort of creatures seen here are more typical of the normal deep ocean, say 12,000 feet.

Within about a 10 minute window yesterday while I was having coffee not brought to me by Ben Had my bird feeder was swarmed by dozens of birds including 4 pairs of Cardinals, a whole bunch of squirrels, 3 rabbits and a deer.

Bird feeders are the best cheap entertainment.

I think the 3-valve is the sweet spot. Maybe 2004-2008 or so? Those engines can be easily modified to get 400-500hp without much cost or effort, too.

I may or may not be looking for one myself after riding in a friends who put 4.10 gears in one with about 400hp at the wheels. Big fun, and probably doesn't have $15k in the (used) stock-from-the -factory used car.

I feed the stray cat so he won't go after the birds. I suspect he may have been dumped as he seems somewhat friendly. And there is a hawk that likes to visit and eat the birds. I am going to try and give them a bit more protection by the tree with the feeders.

It's funny because I think the live rear axles were mature to the point where that was the best option unless you were racing it or intended to challenge mountain curves to the point of risking wrecking your car. IIRC Ford only added it because they felt pressured to "get out of the stone age."
