Evening to Pixy, and morning to all the other satellites in space!
The ONT story about Tilda Swinton stating in Austin, TX, that she would not wear a face diaper when she goes to Ireland -- very cheering. She says she's super healthy, but to me she has always looked kind of weedy and drawn, as if she hasn't been eating right for years. Still, a nice thing to hear from a Hollywood celeb. Posted by: Pixy Misa at March 15, 2023 04:06 AM (BLOW1) On the radio last night there was a piece about insiders at both Meta and Google are saying both companies have been doing defensive hiring - that they were hiring people they don't need because they didn't want those people to go to the other company. So they've had very well paid people essentially sitting around not doing much. Apple is the only sane company in the bunch. They're not laying off people by the thousands because they didn't staff up to ridiculous levels assuming people would be stuck at home forever. We need to get her started soon. My colleague's last day is 3/23, and her replacement, whoever my boss picks, will no doubt have to give 2 weeks' notice. Maybe she could start 3/31. The "management" at my apt. complex is supposed to send guys over to shampoo my carpet from the flood/leak of 2 weeks ago. Both cats will go over to Miss Linda's; Dagny the Siberian princess is already there, and I'll bring big black Stirling this morning. Don't want to chance them zipping out while the workmen are here. I'm sure they wouldn't go far, but Dagny could get herself knocked up. (She's going to the shop next month.)
The amazing thing is that the office gave me a day's notice, so I could arrange for the cats. So far, so good. I need to corner them and make sure I can take the cost of the emergency plumber off my April rent. As I pointed out to them in my letter (which I know they got), I saved *them* an enormous amount of money and trouble by heading off the flood. I told chat gpt Keynesian does not work:
There have been numerous instances in which Keynesian policies have been implemented successfully. For example, in the United States, the New Deal programs implemented during the Great Depression are often credited with helping to pull the country out of the economic crisis. Similarly, in the post-World War II era, many governments implemented Keynesian policies to promote economic growth and stability. However, there are also critics who argue that Keynesian policies can lead to inflation, budget deficits, and other economic problems. Some economists argue that other approaches, such as supply-side economics or monetarism, are more effective at promoting economic growth and stability. In conclusion, whether Keynesian economics "never ever has worked" is a subject of debate among economists and policymakers, and there are valid arguments on both sides of the issue. The Hebrew verb rendered “be still” can also be translated “cease striving.” When we rest in God instead of relying on our limited efforts, we discover Him to be our unassailable “refuge and strength” (v. 1).

In 1931, the year before Franklin Roosevelt was elected president, unemployment in the United States had soared to an unprecedented 16.3 percent. In human terms that meant that over eight million Americans who wanted jobs could not find them. In 1939, after almost two full terms of Roosevelt and his New Deal, unemployment had not dropped, but had risen to 17.2 percent. Almost nine and one-half million Americans were unemployed.

All of Islam is built around believing a guy who would rock back and forth was receiving direct communications from Jibriel, whom many transliterate to Gabriel, about a deity named Allah who is a Sinai moon god as opposed to Yahweh who started off as a Sinai storm god.
And then after this guy's death if two people remembered the exact same thing, it went into the Quran. Great way to make a faith. Then a few centuries later I think the Umayiads [sp?] tried to rewrite it. Plus the whole Suni vs Shia split over who would succeed the dead guy. The figure comes from an extensive report dropped by the Claremont Institute on Tuesday. The report details $82 billion dollars in social justice/BLM investments by major American companies. We have seen in every single industry and endeavor where negative consequences have been eliminated if not replaced by rewarding bad behavior (failing up) that things get worse. So people who have broken big things are given larger things to break, and when those are broken are given the opportunity to crash the biggest thing (eg Janet Yellen) just because of party membership (or if you are a ZeroHedger, becaude of being member of The Tribe). Rewiring America, the nonprofit group Abrams will join as senior counsel, is a self-described “leading electrification nonprofit, focused on electrifying our homes, businesses, and communities.”
Is this where we remind them that The Grid™ as it currently stands, already has a huge problem sourcing transformers? There are housing developments on hold because of need of electricity and scarce supply of grid materials. That is just the delivery of electricity, which is a small problem compared to the generation of dispatchable electricity. Posted by: Reuben Hick at March 15, 2023 07:16 AM (YXHzG) 202

The church I currently attend is losing about $1000/month over expenses. They did lockdown forever and chased all the young families away. I believe it is only a matter of time before ELCA combines them with the sister church. We already share the pastor with them. Maybe it will finally be the reason I can convince my wife to find a Bible Church.

God: Hey, y'all, remember all that stuff about me sending my son to live a perfect life and die to pay all sins so that humans can live in the grace of a new covenant? Yeah? Well, scratch that. I changed my mind.
New Christianity has replaced Orthodoxy to be more hip and cool and deal with the objections from Islam. Now, the blood of Christ was sufficient to pay for everyone sin's, head for head. The catch is not Election, the catch is are you worthy of Christ's blood? That is, the only thing stopping you from being saved and having your sins forgiven is that you are found worthy. So how are you found Worthy? By works, of course! What are these works? Not avoiding sin, because that is covered already, but by praying, giving, ministering, studying more plus all the stuff the world values like being a good steward of the Earth and more charitable. If you do enough of this (the standard is Jesus Christ) then you might be worthy. Posted by: Reuben Hick at March 15, 2023 07:22 AM (YXHzG) 212

The Sunshine State’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation had warned the Hyatt Regency Miami against letting children under the age of 16 attend the Dec. 27 “Drag Queen Christmas Show” at its James L. Knight Center, according to a formal complaint shared with The Post.
But the venue went ahead with the performance anyway, letting minors attend if accompanied by an adult. “Therefore, the Department is revoking the venue’s license for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages,” DeSantis’ office said in a statement. I think there are two very distinct varieties of Globalists. You have the Hate America First type who live by the credo "Life Unworthy of Life", who just want to watch the world burn (while profiting and having sex with children) then there are the globalists like me, who are more Image of God and sees beyond national borders in terms of spreading the gospel and human flourishing. Both look at borders as having some nominal value but the are looking at a larger prize that involves all of humanity. I never check that, I prefer to choose when updates install. yes I never ever ever check that! Apple (like others) is famous for secret surprises that break current software (unless you want to upgrade and pay more!) or just futzing things up. a recent system upgrade took away my ability to switch the default view of Font Book. seems like a small thing, but now it defaults to showing pretty pictures of all your fonts on startup, instead of how I had it, which was a text list. I have 10,000 fonts (not all are active) probably. so now my nice easy quick startup process takes a few minutes to process all those pretty pictures. thanks Apple! you dummies Posted by: BlackOrchid at March 15, 2023 07:44 AM (w0NJk) Posted by: rhennigantx at March 15, 2023 07:44 AM (BRHaw) Posted by: Slapweasel at March 15, 2023 07:44 AM (Ckg4U) Posted by: Chatterbox Mouse at March 15, 2023 07:45 AM (TXFi7) 251
