CBS News: The US Was Double-Billed for Projects in Wuhan
Fauci: You Know, Sometimes Labs Leak Naturally-Evolved Viruses

They also report Dr. Redfield's congressional testiomny that "Money from multiple agencies funded high-risk research in Wuhan." Though they don't confirm that or even advance that part of the story, it's interesting that a Regime propaganda outlet is giving it prominent reporting.

You don't say, CBS News. You don't say.

Remember two months ago when CBS News was able to confirm the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop?

The news admitted by the Regime is always years behind the actual news.

This report is mostly about Wuhan possibly double-billing the US government and bilking us out of millions, but the grabbier part is the acknowledgement by Regime Television that we probably financed covid-19.

By Catherine Herridge, Analisa Novak

The U.S. government may have made duplicate payments for projects at labs in Wuhan, China, through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), according to records reviewed by CBS News.

"What I've found so far is evidence that points to double billing, potential theft of government funds. It is concerning, especially since it involves dangerous pathogens and risky research," said Diane Cutler, a former federal investigator with over two decades of experience combating white-collar crime and healthcare fraud.

Cutler found evidence of possible double payments as she investigated U.S. government grants that supported high risk research in China leading up to the COVID-19 pandemic. She was hired by Republican Sen. Roger Marshall, who took her records to USAID and the internal watchdog at USAID, which launched a new probe, details of which have not been previously reported.

...

Sources told CBS News that tens of millions of dollars could be involved.

Sources familiar with the grant records did not dispute CBS News' reporting.

...

Marshall is now calling for a 9/11-style commission.

"I think there's 1.1 million reasons that American taxpayers should care," he said. "You'll have a plane crashes. We want to find out why the plane crashes. We go to any lengths to do that. And the hope is we don't have another plane crash for the same reason."

While intelligence agencies have not been able to reach a consensus on the origin of the pandemic, the FBI and Energy Department have found an accidental lab leak is plausible. The Wuhan Institute of Virology conducted viral research in the city where the SARS-CoV-2 virus first emerged.

During a recent congressional hearing regarding the origins of COVID-19, the House voted unanimously on a bill ordering the declassification of intelligence about the origins. Robert Redfield, the former director of the CDC, testified that money from the NIH, the State Department, USAID and the Defense Department provided funding for high-risk virus research in Wuhan.

Meanwhile, Anthony "The Science" Fauci spoke with a very, very friendly Regime propagandist, Jim Acosta, and reminded everyone that if Wuhan were collecting bat viruses and a worker got sick with such a virus and then spread it out into the world, that would be a "lab leak," but that would still be a naturally-arising virus.

This is what Nixon called the "modified limited hang-out" -- beginning to let out a lie which is nevertheless closer to the truth than the previous story. Anthony "The Science" Fauci is offering up this new story because the old story is "no longer operative."

Meanwhile, "The Science" plays the usual leftwing criminal card of claiming that he must not be criticized because when you criticize him, not only are you attacking "The Science," but you are causing "The Science" to receive death threats so you can't criticize him.

You can, of course, continue attacking Supreme Court Justices, and explicitly calling for them to "never have a moment's peace again."

NIH funding has been known for some time. USAID funding is news to me. It wouldn't surprise me.

But are these "duplicate payments" or were different agencies paying for different things at the Wuhan lab? How many other reckless and sinister projects were there? Were both USAID and NIH paying for coronavirus research and if so, were they both paying for the same project (e.g., just straight fraud and theft) or were there several projects receiving US taxpayer money?

My bet is on the latter and this wasn't double-dipping it was just multiple projects being financed illegally by the US government.

This is not a surprising pivot. Now that the "lab leak hypothesis" is in the popular headspace and very likely true, this dodge makes sense. "It came from the lab but it was a naturally-occurring virus that could have caused a pandemic anyway by natural sources if it hadn't been caused by the lab leak" is a way to try to avoid the obvious next question about why Fauci was funding gain-of-function research that he was prohibited by law from funding.

Not if the leaked DoD (DARPA) documents are to be believed. EcoHealth tried to get DARPA money to do this, and DARPA was ruthless in their rejection. It read like an experienced, cynical college professor critiquing the lousy work product of an arrogant and reckless student who was tremendously self-impressed and convinced of his greatness despite never demonstrating it. That rejection was brutal (in terms of a professionally written executive note, anyway).

EcoHealth found that courting the NIH was much more productive.

I wouldn't rest assured on that. Had they gotten a different person in DARPA reviewing it, it may well have been accepted. Keep in mind that DARPA suppressed the information well after the COVID disaster started unfolding. They didn't inform other parts of government about that *really* familiar thing they rejected earlier. They kept mum and then buried the documents deep in the bowels of their internal document systems. One whistle-blower inside DARPA remembered the EcoHealth rejection and went hunting for the documents, then leaked them. DARPA and DoD did *nothing* to bring it to anyone's attention, not even inside government.

Yeah they invaded Georgia, Ukraine, and then Ukraine again over the past 15 years. Putting aside the curiously quiet period while Trump was president, there's a clear pattern of aggression here that was basically ignored until this most recent invasion.

Now I'd like to believe that this extreme reaction by the west was because people finally got fed up with the repeated invasions and began to respond, but I see no evidence that supports this theory.

No, the response was because this time Putin wanted to depose the corrupt, evil government that is the puppet and friends of the WEF types and is the money laundering, money-distribution, and human trafficking capitol of the world.

Now, Putin doesn't so much give a crap about that, so much as its not helping or enriching him any, so he wants to install his own puppet instead. But that's what has the western leaders so determined to stop Russia, not any sense of justice or world stability. They didn't give a single damn about Russia's antics until this point.

No one gave us that title... a bunch of politicians in the US decided that was our 'mandate'... and have been sending blood and treasure all over the world since WW2 because of it.

No, the Russians have been involved in military action in three other countries in the last twenty years. (Russia also has an ongoing peacekeeping mission on the Armenia - Azerbaijan border -- again, within the borders of the former USSR.)

Again, compare and contrast to the United States.

The dumbassery involved here was of the sort that would happen in either case. There's nothing in having a higher reserve requirement that would have encouraged them to do shorter duration investments. In fact, that tends to incentivize the reverse as longer duration stuff typically has higher yields and they'd need to make up the money from holding more cash.

No, we're currently involved in an undeniable op against the American public. It's fine to assume that there were ops before this.

They had that PATRIOT Act ready to go, remember?

And I take it back. My favorite part is the BBC reporter announcing that WTC7 had collapsed - and giving the official statement - 20 minutes before the building collapsed.

It's literally on the screen behind her while she talks about how the fire caused the collapse.

2020 in a nutshell. That's why hindsight in regards to the PATRIOT Act can be useful.

Posted by: Were building codes changed after WTC7 collapsed into itself from burning office furniture? Why not at March 13, 2023 01:14 PM (o/smN)

353 Fauci has finally acknowledged the reason that the lab leak theory could not be dismissed out of hand.

The idea that COVID could have jumped from bat to man and was not genetically engineered (although for the record I think it was) never precluded that it hopped spontaneously to people at the Wuhan lab. Indeed, of all places this was most likely, because in nature there is little prolonged human - bat contact.
The Wuhan lab is an institution that collects, curates and manipulates bat viruses. It is one of the few places on earth where this is most likely to occur.

Fauci is a craven, morally bankrupt, intellectually dishonest POS not to have acknowledged this at the very onset. But we know why, because he helped finance the whole corrupt scheme and blood is on his hands.

Bushhitler had a 2000 lb penetrator bomb with radio-operated fuse strapped-down in the front cargo compartment of the plane. Plane-tower impact sheared the hold-downs, as intended, and the bomb shot out of the plane, thru the tower, and penetrated deep within WTC-7. Guiliani had the radio-trigger; he triggered the fuse at the selected time. Presto, another WTC building destroyed!
