Dogs always fall for the faked throw, and we love them for being such beautiful dopes.

Pigs with curly hair. And they don't even go to Smith.

Step off, broh.

27 Did you know? Bison are the largest animal in North America. The native savages used to run them off of the cliffs by the thousands and only took the best cuts, wasting large amounts of the animals. The American settlers killed many, but Ted Turner, an old white guy, spent his time and fortune returning them to their former glory with wise herd management and skill while the natives spent their time drinking and living on handouts from Washington DC.

Thank you Ted!

34 The buffalo would have gone extinct except that some rich New Yorkers bought farmland in The Bronx and used it raise a herd that re-stocked the west. So every buffalo out west has a Bronx grandmother.

50 I had a colleague who was raised on a ranch that was next door to one of Turner's buffalo ranches. Ol' Ted didn't put in the appropriate fences that would keep buffalo in and naturally, the buffalo would roam at their leisure.

My colleague wasn't amused, especially when he had to go out and replace fence lines (at one time, when it was -10 F, a quarter mile of fences) whenever this happened. Oh, and Ol' Ted never offered up any help to fix this problem when it occurred. It was his neighbor's problem, not Turner's.

The bison is an American conservation success story. In the early 1900’s, the bison was on the verge of extinction – numbering fewer than 1,100 individuals after roaming North America in the tens of millions only a century earlier. In 1907 and 1913, the Bronx Zoo sent herds of Bronx-bred bison out west to re-establish the species in its native habitat.

There is a herd in Texas at Capstone Canyon that is genetically distinct from everything else in NA. A small breeding herd was preserved by a rancher and there was nothing else bison-wise between them and Canada for awhile (if you believe the Interactive Maps at the park).

They were wandering around near the trails so we got to see them way too close. Some idiots with me proceeded to get closer. I expressed displeasure and a low opinion of their parentage.

THE DAY THE POLICE WERE NO LONGER NEEDED
On August 19, 1966 - Chinese students launched a fight for social justice to fight for the rights of the oppressed in China. It was widely believed that the 'patriarchal system' in China had been created by the 1% and held down women, minorities, and the working class. The students cried out for a revolution and change, and consequentially launched the infamous Chinese Cultural Revolution.
Students put a red band around their arm to stand in solidarity with the oppressed and called for a change on old ideas that they called the FOUR OLDS. The Four Olds were: Old Customs, Old Culture, Old Habits, and Old Ideas.

Three days later, August 22, 1966, a central directive was issued to stop police intervention. The police were disbanded in the city and the students formed a community solution called the RED GUARD. The RED GUARDS policed the communities and punished anyone who did not agree with their ideas. Even people that supported the movement, but had bad thoughts ("wrong think") could be punished.
Though many Christians supported the movement in the beginning, they quickly became the number one target of the RED GUARDS and public trials were held to condemn them to death.

After the Lower Dryas glaciation the buffalo was what was left, probably, There are some suggestions the giant sloth may have survived until the 1400s in South America

there were several elephant relatives, the gomphotheres, and a type of giant camelid or llama, but the glyptodonts were actually longer and heavier. In North America there were also some forest buffalo that were larger than the surviving plains type, and of course mammoth.
By 1492 the buffalo were the largest land mammal in the Americas. The next largest I think was either the moose or the tapir
