Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Two of the Four Americans Kidnapped in Mexico Have Been MurderedThe media will not cover this. Biden does not want his bloody border covered, and the enemy of the people media complies with Herr President's wishes. Yes I know that local media will cover it. Anderson Cooper will not. MSNBC will not. The New York Times will give it six paragraphs in the interior pages of its International section (which is already in interior pages). Two of the four Americans kidnapped in Mexico were found dead after they went missing last week, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said. The American citizens had crossed into Matamoros, south of Brownsville, Texas, in a white minivan with North Carolina plates. Shortly after entering Mexico, unidentified gunmen shot at the passengers of the vehicle and took them into another car, fleeing the scene. The two other citizens were found alive, with one of them injured, Tamaulipas Gov. Americo Villarreal confirmed in a morning news conference with Obrador. The four Americans, Zindell Brown, Eric James Williams, and cousins Latavia "Tay" Washington McGee and Shaeed Woodard, drove down for a medical procedure for McGee but never made it.The White House issued a statement, declaring it "unacceptable" for Mexican drug terrorist gangs to kidnap and murder Americans. Stephen L. MillerAmerica's not mad, Narcoterrorists. It's just disappointed. As many are saying: This wouldn't have happened under Trump. And if it did happen, there would by God be consequences to make sure this never happened again. But there will be no consequences now. Biden is too busy defending Ukraine's border. No, that undersells it. That makes it sound like he would defend the American border, but just prioritizes Ukraine's. No-- Biden is determined to eradicate the Mexico-US border. This is an unpopular position outside his LULAC/La Raza base, so he just instructs the media to not cover the wide-open-and-bleeding border at all, and they do their duty as Patriots of the Democrat Party.

++++ Yup. The border is such a problem that I think it needs a huge effort at containment, and one that would likely cause an international incident but so be it. 1 mile of land along the entire border - all within American territory - needs to be annexed with eminent domain. Put a wall right along the border. Build a parallel wall one mile inside US territory. Essentially, build a pale. Then deploy land mines inside that narrow DMZ, along with seismographs to detect tunneling, etc. The only pass-throughs are at formal border crossings. Inspect everything coming through. It's that or war with Mexico, as near as I can come up with. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at March 07, 2023 04:18 PM (t0OGg) Posted by: Sec. Pete! at March 07, 2023 04:18 PM (NgqoH) 78

Remember one the biggest threats to the cartels is a secure US border. In manifold ways. So the baby steps Trump was able to take, against unified fanatical and lawless opposition (including the GOP) - even extending to a fairly lawless re-allocation of $$ for the barrier system - were rather unpopular with that set of entrepreneurs.

A lot of it is, but there's plenty that's further afield because it's easier to run things there. The cartels more or or less own border regions at this point. Somewhat. But remittances and oil exports are probably north of 10% of Mexican GDP. And given that most of the rest is stolen by the authorities and the gangsters, the average Mexican jagoff is very dependent on the remittances. Matamoros part 2.
I'd rent a car at the Harlingen airport and make sure it could be driven into Mexico, and go in mornings and out after work. Sometimes I'd go into Matamoros at night with our local guy, white guy from Purdue, who was totally fluent and had married a wealthy Mexican princess whose family owned big businesses down in Monterrey. It was safe then, as long as you stayed in the markets and restaurants in the downtown, near the international bridge. I took an engineer that worked for me once, guy from Vietnam, had been in a communist prison camp as a little kid after the VC took over, Matamoros's outer ring of mean streets and 3rd world poverty looked familiar to him, so we wandered out a little. Never out of the city though. You could get disappeared by the thugs. Posted by: Mr Gaga at March 07, 2023 04:48 PM (KiBMU) 284

There are plenty of maps online as to what parts of Mexico are controlled by which cartels.
The easiest answer is just build the wall, ship the illegals home, and let Mexico go to hell. That's "racist" of course so we'll probably be at war in Biden's second term to "save Mexican democracy" once the cartels get uppity and stop paying the Democrats. Yes polynikes, and for multiple reasons. Mexico's enormous population explosion in the 80s (rates exceeded that considered maximum) was a factor in the earlier waves, but Mexico's economic development (including employment) has been pretty dramatic since then.
And Trump's approach was comprehensive (heh). He arm-twisted all the Central American players pretty hard, and effectively, and combined with the remain-in-Mexico flourish, the growing barrier installation, and sadly only small changes in water temperature on intern enforcement, the flow slowed to a trickle. But America said f**k that. So here you are. Posted by: rhomboid at March 07, 2023 04:59 PM (OTzUX) 343

Conduit from gangs in SoCal to Denver and on into the midwest. ----- The I-70/I-25 interchange and US-285 are the reason why Denver has been up to its nuts in dope for a long, long time. Major overland communications connector for a big-ass piece of El Norte. The only thing Graham appears to care about, and about this he's more fanatical than any other public figure on any issue of any kind, is amnesty, and "dreamers". When Trump cancelled the ridiculous, unlawful Bambi EO*, Lindsay held *weekend* press events and ranted about dreamers and etc. It was bizarre, and amazing.
* which the lawless farcical clown-car known as "the judiciary" decided couldn't be done, thereby converting the frequently abused EO process into a full-blown "rule by decree" add-on to our constitutional system - well, a *conditional* dictator's powers, depending on the topic Posted by: rhomboid at March 07, 2023 05:16 PM (OTzUX) 417
And I don't think this is all about drugs. Human trafficking has become a huge business nowadays.

We could violently and decisively destroy the cartels in short order. But nobody has the balls to make that call. It would uncover deep corruption within both the US and the Mexican governments and institutions and it would take all out war.
The situation here and now is no different than Columbia in the 70s-80s. Posted by: CrotchetyOldJarhead at March 07, 2023 05:17 PM (+2RzF) Posted by: Miklos so figures at March 07, 2023 05:17 PM (2hexI) 421
Chatterbox Mouse, spending multi thousands on lawyers fees and waiting 10's of years to immigrate legally ain't the smartest move.

It does seem that the cartel knew this NC group was coming.
As soon as they crossed into Mexico, they attacked the car full on, like they knew they were coming and did not want them there. Posted by: PJ at March 07, 2023 06:15 PM (G1dq6) 427
More Americans should vacation in dangerous, third-world shitholes like Afghanistan.
Every time it happens, I can't help but laugh and wonder how colossally detached from reality these people must be. Posted by: insurgens ad opus at March 07, 2023 07:47 PM (5o7rt) Processing 0.07, elapsed 0.081 seconds. |
