A local suburban FD has mandated that all new fire trucks and other emergency vesicles must be EV's.
So good luck getting you fire put out in your house. Fire trucks need lots of power to pump water up to the upper floors. EV Yellow school buses are here already. Lonely country roads are a great place to run out of juice, with snow and ice on the roads. Posted by: Colin at March 01, 2023 04:10 AM (I0wI3) 8
Disclaimer: I have another bank account though. Just in case. I have two accounts with the same bank. One I keep a couple hundred dollars in. That one is for internet shopping. The other has many thousands. The idea is if someone hacks a transaction I'm only out a couple hundred. In reality they simple cover the overage from the fat account and charge me a bounced check fee. If it's a bounce don't fvcking pay it! That's the idea. But cake and eat it too seems to be their motto. If you're not from the US mid-Atlantic region, you may not be familiar with the Chesepeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, connecting Delmarva and Hampton Roads, Virginia. The 17.6 mile (28.3 km) long structure swoops from majestic bridge spans 40 feet (12 m) above the water to dip into two one-mile-long underwater tunnels 90 feet (27.5 m) below the surface, utilizing artificial islands created for the purpose. Since some folks find that intimidating, motorists can pay to have a driver take them across, a service I've otherwise seen only at Michigan's 552 foot (168 metre) high, 5 mile (8 km) long Mackinac Bridge. I've driven this section of road, towing a boat. Not for the faint of heart. Narrow tunnels with tractor trailers coming at you at 55 mph. White knuckle experience. left-wing activist ... You give them a language prompt and you get a canned response back; the same response every time for the same prompt.
And this wins elections for them. One of my absolute favorite topics. Ever notice how much of daily life is just canned responses ? Its been that way for all of my fifty years. Take off that hat - back the blue - black lives matter - and on and on and on. Just mindless repeating of slogans and customs, and a big fight whenever a non-complier encounters a norms bully. For somebody like me, who supports neither set of mindless norms, its both fascinating and maddening. College education, especially undergraduate/baccalaureate, has become a ridiculous farce. It should be a prestigious good that only those with aptitude who sacrificed for it should have. It is not a basic right. Why not demand everyone go to med school or law school? Why not demand every American get certified as an auto mechanic? Why not demand that everyone get a doctorate in something?
Higher education is not supposed to be universal. That is why it is not free. You make College free and it will just become High School II for emotionally stunted young adults. I mean, more than it is already. Posted by: Warai-otoko at March 01, 2023 06:32 AM (9UlRk) 136
