Is the wire a trip hazard? If no just ignore it. If yes you can probably find some curved or angled, red roofing clay tiles to put over the wire and bedding to keep it all in place a bit better during run-off rain. Posted by: PaleRider at February 26, 2023 02:16 PM (3cGpq) 31

We couldn’t do French drain because of the wiring in our little front yard, so they put in these pop up valves to release it away from the house from the gutters. As you can tell, I am super handy in describing it, so hopefully someone knows what I am talking about.

Had a rain problem the French drain couldn't handle.
I stood in the rain and watch exactly where the water wanted to go. I terraced the yard and around the flower beds, along the walkway and the drive etc. cut small trails for the water to travel. It's amazing how much water a 2"x2" or 4"x1" path can handle. Posted by: Braenyard at February 26, 2023 02:18 PM (8E/wP) 34

I had a similar problem with my invisible dog fence. I spliced new sections in, and grossly overwrapped it with electrician's tape. Every splice still failed. There is a reason the b is both written and pronounced p: they are called bi-labial plosives: you put your lips together and pop out a small breath of air (the plosion). The only difference is a b is "voiced" (your epiglottis rattles) and the "p" is not--it's just air. It is very difficult to combine a voiced with an unvoiced consonant so very often one is sacrificed. If that still has you puzzled, the "sh" sound of the -tion is also unvoiced. A voiced b would be too hard--try it: bshion--so it was visibly changed to a p to follow the actual pronunciation: -pshion is a lot easier. Well, you did ask.

I have 4 downspouts off the house. Each one has a series of plastic pipes joined together to take the water out away from the house. One in particular was brutal to put in. I had to trench a line from the house, under a gravel driveway and into the yard on the other side... about 50 feet. While sloping the trench. Took 6 hours, a shovel, pick-ax and a whole lot of cussing.

Scrape down to bedrock in a few spots. Drill holes for concrete anchors. Use some galvanized pipe tube straps for 1/2" pipe and anchor your cable to the bedrock.
Do it in enough locations, and your cable should remain buried. Yeah, sure, that sounds great. *laughs into sleeve* Posted by: Tectonic plates at February 26, 2023 02:53 PM (eOEVl) 101

You could actually see gas streaming onto the ground. I walked over to the driver and mentioned this. He got on the ground, fiddled about and then shrugged... said he didn't see anything. Yet, he's covered in gas. Gets in and drives away... leaving a trail of gas. At the rate it was leaking he'd be lucky to get 10 miles on a full tank. Or 5 before it explodes.

Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at February 26, 2023 02:21 PM (XIJ/X) ++++ Presumably, the reason you don't replace the whole cable with one that does have enough slack to bury it deeper, is it would be more hassle than it's worth. Conduit can protect the cable for you so it doesn't get damaged and you can continue to not replace it. Absorption is the issue here ?? I heard that manure has excellent absorption qualities. Why not cover the whole thing with manure ?

Next we’ll see a pic of CBD with a spray bottle and a cloth, cleaning his garbage cans.

This wouldn't be an issue if you had abandoned the house as I suggested over the radiant heat pipes.

I like to add more oil to the mix in my small engines than suggested. My cheap chainsaw and mower smoke a bit more until I run out the tank of cheap/old gasoline, but they always start on the first pull. I'm too lazy to drain the tank, I just burn it out. You can tell when your fuel is shit because of the loss of power. Keeping the air filter clean is essential. Also, I prime them like crazy and they have never flooded out.
High test fuel, no ethanol, plenty of oil. Posted by: Dr. Bone at February 26, 2023 03:58 PM (Jg7EG) 198
It's like having a Hellmouth in your yard. If you can't get rid of it, you need to feature it.

With low voltage you can pretty much do what you want. I'd get a 4' chunk of electrically rated PVC (gray) conduit, or whatever length to span the exposure, (1/2" dia.) just for the mechanical protection. White conduit is for water and it's brittle and it sucks.

115 "Anchor Your Cable To The Bedrock" didn't make the cut in the most recent revision of The Baptist Hymnal, but it did make honorable mention.

This is low voltage. No need to use conduit!
Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at February 26, 2023 02:21 PM (XIJ/X) You don't put wire in conduit because of the voltage. You put wire in conduit to protect the insulation. Your particular cable is not rated for direct burial. Hence ... you at least put the new joint you need in conduit. At least until you decide to rent a trencher and replace it all with direct burial rated cable. Posted by: Tell It Like It Is at February 26, 2023 06:15 PM (mIZHJ) 210
I'm making $100 an hour working from home. i was greatly surprised at the same time as my neighbour advised me she changed into averaging $100 however I see the way it works now. I experience mass freedom now that I'm my non-public boss.
I highly recommend everyone to apply… www.Payathome7.com Posted by: www.Payathome7.com at February 27, 2023 12:15 AM (cZPc9) 211
low-voltage outdoor lighting cable? Easy, just splice a length of wire to it and bury it deeper. I've spliced my dog fence multiple times over the last 20 years with no problems.
