Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Joy Behar: East Palestine Deserved What They Got Because They Voted For TrumpThis ugly bilious wattle-necked demon. What kind of demon, you ask? A Yuchubus.Joy Behar triggered shocked gasps from The View audience after suggesting victims of the Ohio toxic train crash had it coming to them for voting for former U.S. president Donald Trump. During Thursday's show, Behar, 80, declared: 'I don't know why they would ever vote for him, for somebody who, by the way, he placed someone with deep ties to the chemical industry in charge of the EPA's chemical safety office.' 'That's who you voted for in that district,' she said, pointing directly at the camera. 'Donald Trump, who reduces all safety.' The audience were audibly aghast when they heard Behar's comments. 'They need to look past the photo op and say who's doing the job here,' Behar added. As they headed to the break, co-host Hostin said, 'I think this is Donald Trump's fault.'
That was a pretty slimy effort--to blame Trump--when the facts so far don't support that any deregulation that happened under Trump had anything to do with the derailment. Reports are now that the derailment was due to an overheated bearing. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

You should not be surprised in a few years when democrats start openly calling for the death of anyone who opposes the party. Posted by: Thomas Paine Uhhh, they've been saying that for YEARS. It's just that the MFM doesn't air those videos or comment. And I hate to say it, but us conservatives are complicit, because we have a tendency to ignore their statement of desire, or to excuse them for just "blowing off steam". How many times have you had a face-to-face exchange like this from your commie cocksucker neighbor/friend/cousin? "Any conservative who owns an AR-15 should be killed on sight, since they're just murderers waiting for their chance." "I own an AR-15." "Oh, I don't mean YOU. You're one of the nice ones." the train wheels/chassis were "on fire" at least 43 minutes before it derailed. So I don't think it was the speed or heavy braking .. it was lack of maintenance of ? the car (or is it called a truck?) and the system that is supposed to monitor for problems as the train passes over it.
So far it looks like controlled burn was the correct response, but they have not really told us how much leaked into the ground before it was burned off. The phosgene gas that resulted from the fire dissipates quickly they say ... so evacuating locally was the right response. (but it may still be an irritant ... also some different problems with the other chemicals ... need more details) Posted by: illiniwek at February 24, 2023 12:15 PM (Cus5s) 102

Three things. One Butt and Sniff could have reversed these regulations on day one if they were so awful. They didn't. I mean Sniff reversed all kinds of things from his first day in the puppet box. Two. this had nothing to do with an orangemanbad regulation. It was an overheated axle bearing that the union engineers had warning of apparently. Shh, don't tell anyone that. Three. The same poofter who cares so much about the earf flies private planes so he and his "wife" can go on vacation with their miracle paint shaker baby. Has done NOTHING about this. He's skiing in the alps with his infant. We all know infants are awesome skiers. He doesn't care about the earf. he cares about forcing us peassants into a crappier standard of living. President Sniff and Sec. Butt are doing a great job of that.

So I miss 98% of "the news", in general, since it's garbage or distortion, therefore could yet again be very wrong here. But. Isn't this assertion that "deregulation" had anything to do with this, and specifically that any such deregulation under Trump, completely absurd - and outrageous? Going back to Reagan's effort against pernicious, pointless regulation, I don't recall rail safety regulation ever being an issue or a target. Trump's was focused correctly on improving the environment for investment in basic industry and manufacturing (with pretty breath-taking, nearly instant results). So - just more standard insanely ridiculous and vile baseless blame-shifting and slander, aimed at a country so dumbed down and degraded it could be expected to have some traction? When it comes to railroad safety, everyone here is missing the forest for the trees. By first world standards, the American rail system, like much of our other infrastructure, is totally antiquated. That makes it inherently dangerous.
This won't get better until we nationalize the railways. We, the USA, should own the tracks,,,just like we own the federal highway system. Then we can dictate minimum effective safety standards. I totally agree. Every time I say anything about our need for new, light rail high speed trains, I get the same argument "the US is too big for a nationalized rail system." At least nationalize traffic control naitionwide - as air traffic control is. If for no other reasons than to get maintainence up to a uniform standard, and integrate planning for upgrades with the rest of the transportation system. Is this a form of rentier capitalism a la Marx? The owners only have incentive to extract what they can out of the existing infrastructure, not to invent or upgrade anything. The existence of The View, and that it has an audience, is redundant confirmation of how incredibly stupid and ignorant a significant portion of the populace is. Obviously.
Gascon's recall petition signature failure is I think one of the only recent high-profile efforts run by the usual companies that do such to fail, itself a bit suspicious. Did not follow it after the first chapter, but there were allegations of impropriety in disallowing signatures (surprise!). Given that area prosecutors were openly calling for his removal, and the ease with which his counterpart in SF was recalled, the failure of the petition effort seems quite suspect. There's never really any mention as to why the initial fire, seemingly caused by a wheel bearing overheating, was attempted to be put out.
IF the tanker holding the vinyl chloride was pressurizing because of the heat and the fire was caused by grease, why was there no effort to contain the fire and cool the tank? BURN IT!!! BURN IT NOW!!!! This was a tragic f*ckup on so many fronts, its amazing we're all actually still alive. Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Joe Biden at February 24, 2023 12:38 PM (9gDA7) 253
Stop bailing companies out from their own mistakes, and companies will invest for the future more readily.
Posted by: TheJamesMadison, mired in filth and awfulness with Ralph Bakshi at February 24, 2023 12:29 PM (LvTSG) ++++ This is a deliberately simplistic attempt to falsely attribute blame for industrial accidents to economic stabilization measures. The government absolutely MUST act as a backstop to maintain private investment in business activity. The stabilizing influence of emergency economic response makes people confident to invest in new and existing ventures. It isn't a "bailout" for bad behavior, but the knowledge of the likelihood of government intervention during periods of market failure encourage market growth. A wild west of no backstops will radically increase both risks to investors and the economy at large, and make those risks unknowable. In a world of no backstops and no security, investment will grind to a halt. The economy will collapse and civil order will break down. There must be either a backstop or direct nationalization, and backstops are far more effective and productive. An absence of both would be a catastrophe of incalculable proportions. What is the procedure or protocol for a hot box warning from the track sensor? Is regenerative braking the primary means to stop the train with the air brake system as the backup? Can the conductor monitor the condition of the cars axle/wheels real time? What is the spacing of the warning/detection sensors, and are they along the length of the track or only in certain areas along the track? Trump was the first GOP candidates to win PA, WI and MI since....Reagan? He got around 20% more votes in 2020 than in 2016. Seems like a pretty strong resume to me, especially when the alternative is going to be another Romney, McCain, Dole, etc. Posted by: Moron Analyst ___ Because he was up against Hillary Clinton, that's why. But people misread that. Basically .1% of the Rust Belt didn't like a the bitch Hillary and threw their vote to Trump. People like George W. lost these states by less than a tenth of a point in both 2000 and 2004. I loathe Dubya, but we're talking about Trump outperforming in the Rust Belt by .1% against a person everyone hated, just not that much of a victory. And everyone wants to pretend 2020 didn't happen and he didn't get his clock cleaned. It's just funny that Trump supporters want to say it's all rigged and that's why we need Trump to lose a rigged election, again. Nobody else gets a shot, we need him to lose again and wallow in it. Denninger wrote about this this morning. From the report, the hot box sensors were working and were showing a rapid temperature rise on one of the axles. The question is did the crew ignore that and keep going, or did the control system itself not alert the crew. The rate of increase of temperature was such that it was obvious something was rapidly overheating. The train should've been stopped right then. I know this is going to shock you, but Trump was very polarizing and pulled a lot of people out of the weeds to vote against him. Even people that knew Biden belonged in a nursing home.
And I do think Trump got robbed in a state like PA or MI, but we're not talking an 8 million vote margin of fraud. Posted by: Blago This is a wrong analysis is I am understanding what you are saying. Trump was robbed by something like 47,000 votes across a number of states. The margins in GA and AZ were only around 12,000 votes. Very easy to do with even just a little fraud. In PA something like 300,000 votes changed overnight which could only be done by manipulating the machine counts. This is memory so I may be off but the bottom line was that it did not take manipulating millions of votes but only some in key areas making slim margins enough to gain the electoral votesof those states. The infrared sensors used along railroad tracks to detect "defects" or hot brakes, wheels, etc. are controlled from those little metal sheds you sometimes see near RR crossings. The gear inside is your typical industrial IC boards, modems and whatnot. They are susceptible to moisture, temperature and other environmental conditions like bugs and critters that may get inside.
I saw the inside of one not that long ago. Crew was working on a large wasp nest that had been built inside when the weather got colder. Nobody knew the gear inside wasn't working until they started to get false alarms about trains going too fast. The tracks are literally in town and the speed limit on them is like 10MPH. The nest was dicking around with the boards inside and causing bogus readings. I just happened to be at a grocery store next to the tracks and this shed thingy so I asked what was up. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) is warning about “unknown and unknowable long-term risks” it says are inherent to “gender-affirming care” in minors, adding that the consequences of gender transition surgery are irreversible.
“Gender-affirming” procedures include so-called puberty blockers, sex hormones, and surgery, such as castration, penectomy, and mastectomy, the nonpartisan professional association noted in its Feb. 20 official statement outlining its stance on “gender-affirming care” for children. The AAPS warns that gender transition procedures are “generally irreversible and have a high probability of causing sterilization.” The procedures also “commit a patient to a lifelong need for medical, surgical, and psychological care.” Such procedures in minors also are medically and ethically contraindicated due to a lack of informed consent, the AAPS stated. “Physicians and medical professionals should refuse to be mandated or coerced to participate in procedures to which they have ethical or scientific objections or which they believe would harm a patient.” Posted by: Neo at February 24, 2023 12:59 PM (RovqD) Posted by: Drunk Indians at February 24, 2023 01:00 PM (gmo/4) 378

326 So we're running a Chinese railroad here, because everybody hauls millions of tons of DOT restricted toxic chemicals on worn-out, obsolete, never-inspected equipment from 25 years ago.
Bearing MTBF = 150 years. Even better, let's haul that shit thru a residential neighborhood in a cozy municipality. ====== As a native Ohioan, I'm not surprised it happened in Ohio. The state has torn up or converted into bike paths about half of its track, 'm sure. We still have a great amount of trackline that is in daily use. Here in Butler County if I don't cross at least one set of tracks a day I didn't go far, or I took the interstate. If that train had derailed in Hamilton or Middletown the shitstorm would've hit hurricane levels overnight. But some Appalachee village caught it, so Caesar doesn't care. This is a wrong analysis is I am understanding what you are saying.
Posted by: sharon(willow's apprentice) at February 24, 2023 12:57 PM (Y+l9t) I'm looking at it this way. Trump got something like 8 million more votes than he did the first time around, and he beat hillary the first time around. SO, we're to believe that the Incredible Husk got millions and millions of more votes than hillary? I think they stole the living shit out of that election giving millions of votes to the cadaver as a safety margin, but got caught completely off guard by the stronger second showing that trump got, and thats when the 3am bullshit started. Because he was up against Hillary Clinton, that's why. But people misread that. Basically .1% of the Rust Belt didn't like a the bitch Hillary and threw their vote to Trump.
100 per cent wrong about what happened in PA and the Rust Belt. First time voters and disaffected demorats came out of the woodwork to vote for Trump. They recognized a candidate who was not Uniparty. Homemade lawn signs around here attested to that fact. Also in PA, the Amish broke their longstanding rule to eschew politcal participation and came out to vote straight Republican. That's how Toomey won. He squeaked by, but if the Amish hadn't come out, the margin may have been defeatable by the demorat longstanding fraud tactics. Posted by: kallisto at February 24, 2023 01:04 PM (dCxaZ) 412

Not every election. Just the elections in PA, MI, GA, and AZ. Posted by: TheJamesMadison, ___ As someone that lives in AZ, let me tell you. The electorate has changed here. This was a state that people like Joe Arpaio would win by 20 points. It's not the same state, the people here are different. thus the way they vote has changed. AZ used to be a right wing state, it' snot anymore. Same with Nevada. So when people say Kari Lake should have won here because day of voting had issues, I'll say fine, there's the .1% that she got robbed and it cost her the election. people probably did go home and not vote for her because of the lines. But the previous Republican Governor won two elections that were double digits. It wouldn't have mattered to him. Posted by: Blago at February 24, 2023 01:08 PM (cOFom) 440

A lot of the problems with Woke America, "equity" etc from a practical view boil down to the dilution (or negation) of meritocracy. That was part of JJ's theme this AM ("This is Africa/America") but I really do see it becoming one of the Big Core Issues of our time. How a political party would have to unpack this though is really a complex matter, as it implies so much. To speak of "meritocracy" and be understood implies a shared concept of things like individual "excellence" "achievement" and "ability" which are real, which we once celebrated as Americans, and which we need to return to. That would be a "national conversation" worth having. Posted by: Zek at February 24, 2023 01:11 PM (5FPX4) 458

Ukraine is not misusing the tens of billions of dollars in direct financial assistance it is receiving courtesy of U.S. taxpayers according to a top Biden administration official.
Samantha Power, the administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), gave the public affirmation during a CNN live town hall on Thursday evening. Her assurances came just hours ahead of the White House revealing it would give another $2 billion in military aid to Ukraine as its war with Russia officially hits the one-year mark, bringing the total amount of American military assistance to over $30 billion in one year. The former Obama administration official further claimed Ukraine has made progress in working to root out corruption while officials are continually checking to ensure U.S. taxpayer dollars are used properly. “Up until this point, we don’t have any evidence that U.S. assistance is being misused or misspent but, again, the key is not resting on anybody’s goodwill or virtue,” Power said. I thought Lucille Ball was funny in her show with Ricky. Carol Burnett was good, really had a knack for timing and walking the line between straight delivery and farce.

Michael Hugo, the chair of the Framingham Democratic Committee, made the shocking proposal during a city council meeting earlier this month.
He questioned whether these centers misdiagnose women who have disabled children as informing them may convince them to get an abortion. ‘Our fear is that if an unqualified stenographer misdiagnoses a heart defect, an organ defect, spina bifida or encephalopathic defect, that becomes a very local issue, because our school budget would have to absorb the cost of the child in our special education budget,’ he said. Beer taste. In the early 80s, there was a "generic" craze, with one distributor marketing stuff in plain whit labels with things like "corn" or "green beans" identifying it. They also had "Beer". It must have been over runs from breweries, because it was like Russian Roulette. Some days good, some days bad. Tried it a couple times and stuck with a quality beer, Blatz.

I'm looking at it this way.
