James O'Keefe Resigns from Project Veritas?!

Officer Lew
@officer_Lew

BREAKING [siren]: BREAKING: OANN reporting that James O'Keefe has resigned from Project Veritas.

O'Keefe must have something much bigger planned?..

jamesokeefeout.jpg

The only way he'd resign is if the board of directors "offered" him diminitions in authority and limitations so onerous that he felt he had to quit. Stuff like requiring everything he does to get prior approval from the board. That sort of thing.

The board must have offered him A Deal He Couldn't Accept, and almost certainly deliberately.

Ben Domenech
@bdomenech
James O'Keefe out at Project Veritas is yet another example of how right media and the donor class have a deep intolerance for creative genius.

If Andrew Breitbart had lived, they'd have found a way to ditch him, too.

Conservative media is awash with medium talent who pay their bills on forgettable churn that changes nothing and has a half-life measured in hours. Creatives rise up, make a lot of noise, get a lot of enemies, then get taken out by their own. Then donors turn to the mids.

It's the whole business model of National Review.

It's a better explanation than mere grift in this case. There's no money to be made from PV if O'Keefe is no longer attached to it. Ego or ideology (or both) is the only way this makes sense.

1) That letter that was put out was all bullcrap and clearly meant to stop the bleeding away of investors and donors. I am guessing a LOT of donors are going to cut them off now.
2) Project Veritas is not going to be what it once was and I suspect some older stuff will be um, "lost"
3) O'Keefe will start up somewhere else, probably with a lot of people who used to work at PV

Portugal is really cheap, but under the EU's thumb so maybe not a great choice. Places like Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania are fairly cheap, but maybe not entirely safe -- especially Bulgaria, which is basically run by criminals and gypsies.

185 I've been doing a lot of research into the cheapest countries to live in around the world for... reasons... and Columbia is apparently one of the cheapest. Kinda dangerous and not a very pleasant climate, though. Costa Rica is still really cheap and apparently pretty light on government as well (but criminal gangs are around).

Portugal is really cheap, but under the EU's thumb so maybe not a great choice. Places like Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania are fairly cheap, but maybe not entirely safe -- especially Bulgaria, which is basically run by criminals and gypsies.

Phillipines comes up a lot, and its pretty cheap to live in, but is rapidly growing economically so it might not be for much longer.
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at February 20, 2023 02:36 PM (0hOvj)

Most of the "cheap" countries around the world come with a host of problems. So you have to have enough independent means to pay to make those problems go away, which doesn't mean it's all that cheap in the long run. Show up as a "rich American" flashing your stacks of cash around and your odds of surviving a week go down quickly. Play it cool, and you can live comfortably with minimal fuss, most likely.

But you can live for 1000 a month as comfortable middle class and the women there are culturally very traditional and submissive, loving to clean and cook and have babies and spoil their man.

France had little or nothing to do with Tahiti since Hitler invaded France, and almost nothing since. Not really France's fault, France was having trouble governing itself post WWII. Tahiti was a victim of benign neglect, same with the other French islands in the lesser Antilles.

As I recall, he was under there a long time. There was a team of cops/hitters that came in the night and he was able to get to the beach and get in his spider hole. They thought he swam out and drown and spent a couple hours walking the beach looking for a body. He stayed in the hole a long time. Until next night. It was pre positioned, dug, supplied. Somehow he was aable to get in, close a trap door and move sand over himself. Maybe using gravity to cascade sand from a pile once the trapdoor closed? I dunno.

The Philippines is full of absolutely wonderful nice people, they are the most western of all Asians but still Asian. I highly encourage you to go there for a vacation if you pick your locations correctly....

The Philippines is an excellent place to retire IF you are totally dialed in with a local connection. You just show up with two suitcases, you probably won't be butt raped and murdered and left in a ditch but you're going to get no place.

We are planning on spending winters there. About to break ground on our island beachfront cabin and after that we will build our mainland beachfront estate. We own a lot of land there. All in my name. Up north. But my wife is a smoking hot Filipina, entrepreneurship MBA, BSN, first female honor graduate from the Philippine army military police academy (as an officer no less), who can shoot move communicate, has connected family, and it has an independent career perfectly capable of supporting herself and not depending on me in any way.

Hogan did visit Paris in the show. There was a show where they called someone's ma in a pizza parlor in NY to get a recipe for pizza to entice an Italian officer to work with them.

A universe with Rat Patrol would have the war over as soon as they got a dozen or so jeeps with machine guns on them instead of the two they had.

I just don't know. The last time a president was assassinated was 1963, right at the beginning of the cultural revolutions and the questioning of what it means to be an American to the point where demanding the violent overthrow of the American Constitution and replacing it with a communist dictatorship became the "true patriotism".

The killing of a president, I don't think, would bring America together again, at least not nearly at the level of JFK's. The first news story about the event would be about "optics" and the opposition party's reactions to Kamala's rise to the presidency.

Project Veritas and all their investigative work is finished. And it will take months if not years before James O'Keefe will be able to build a new company. China has little ability to project power outside its orbit ATM, but the peacetime power balance is already shifting away from the west dramatically.

429 His last few years of excellent work didn't get anywhere the coverage they deserved. Because we all now assume the left is like that top to bottom. Left alysnkid him and made every story about him and denied, deflect, distort, etc every inch of everything he revealed.

Leaving his videos to really only matter to intellectually honest and curious left-wingers. Which is a group now so small they can be counted on the one webbed finger hand.

434 With the collapse of trump movement and out of closeting of everyone to the left of mark steyn, it has been deeply discouraging. Yet even with all of the bullshit. 2020 Trump's major personal flaws and own goals, to say nothing of flaws of his supporters,, the Lefts total hegemon on every word spoken on media, education, and then even social media, and clusterfuck of a virus...

74/350 million people resisted the clockwork orange brainwashing and get their votes counted. We have the people. We just don't know what to do with them. Unfortunately they all became engineers, builders, small business owners, and parents instead of media personalities.

438 James O'Keefe IS Project Veritas. Sure they'll limp on without him for awhile, but their doors will be shut within the year after the current group of mid-weights loot the bank accounts.

Meanwhile, he will open shop under another name and be off and running again within months.

Posted by: Monica at February 20, 2023 04:18 PM (Ztr3O)

439 Just finished watching the 45 minute video.

James O'Keefe does not appear to have formally resigned, nor has Project Veritas formally fired him, though they did state in their meeting minutes that he's been stripped of his authority and is not collecting a paycheck (Shades of "Milton" in Office Space.)

James has said at the end of that video that he intended to collect his personal effects and take them away from the PV site and it certainly sounds like he's going to start something up again under another name...

But still: No clear statement of "You're fired" and no clear statement of "I resign".

This is pretty messed up.
