Washington Examiner: The Scandal Involving Fomer FBI Head of Counterintelligence Charles McGonical -- Charged With Taking Money From Russian Oligarchs to Get Them Off the Sanctions List -- Is Far, Far Worse Than the FBI and Media Will Admit

This is from John Schindler, a former intelligence employee and rabid NeverTrumper.

I don't find him especially credible -- but he's not alone in making these accusations. He says the Albanian newspapers are reporting it as front-page news:

He allges that Charles McGonigal was a partner in a shakedown racket, along with Albania's socialist Prime Minister, in which he threatened to make trouble for businessmen with the FBI unless they paid them off, in amounts up to 15 million euros.

On Monday, I dropped a report that revealed the Federal Bureau of Investigation's embarrassing scandal surrounding its former star counterintelligence agent Charles McGonigal, who's been indicted on corruption-related federal charges, is much worse than the Department of Justice and the media have admitted.

While McGonigal was still serving as a senior FBI official in 2017 he became a partner of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and his ruling Socialist Party. In that capacity, McGonigal is believed to have extorted wealthy Albanians in a sort of protection racket where the bureau bigwig promised to protect the oligarchs from U.S. sanctions in exchange for big bribes. McGonigal's haul from this was on the order of $32 million (which was presumably shared with his partners). I also reported that McGonigal shook down Shefqet Kastrati, Albania's top oil magnate, for 12 million euros, nearly $15 million, in 2017.

Kastrati's representatives subsequently contacted the Washington Examiner to adamantly deny that allegation. But although the FBI's embarrassing scandal was ignored by much of the U.S. media, it ignited a firestorm in Albania. There, McGonigal's apparent mafia-like antics in collusion with the government in Tirana have been front-page news.

Accusations continue to mount that McGonigal was shaking down rich Balkan businesspeople, employing his FBI affiliation in the furtherance of his con . Albanian media also reported that McGonigal, in collusion with Rama and his associates, shook down Kastrati for as much as 15 million euros to keep the oil magnate in the good graces of the Department of State in Washington. This included the involvement of Agron Neza, the former Albanian intelligence operative and McGonigal partner who accompanied the FBI man on trips to Albania and was reportedly "a regular visitor to Kastrati's office" and an intermediary who "passed bags of money" to McGonigal.

...

Now comes another Albanian media report of McGonigal's shakedown operation, in this case involving the oligarch Pellumb Salillari, one of Albania's "big octopuses of corruption." Salillari is alleged to have paid McGonigal 5 million euros to improve his reputation in Washington, where he was assessed to have criminal connections. This, then, was another big bribe to purchase McGonigal's protection from his own government.

Schindler claims that people in neighboring territories, like Kosovo, are now accusing McGonigal of shaking them down as well.

Would foreign businessmen really pay 15 million euros just to keep off the FBI's naughty list? I don't know. I think the story here is sketchy. What are the actual threats in this shakedown? What were the tangible promises?

Is this just about State Department sanctions? I guess maybe it is just about that. Are these sanctions so extreme it would be worth it to a businessman to pay 15 million euros to maybe have an inside guy who could keep you from being sanctioned?

Don't get me wrong -- I want to believe.

And I certainly can believe. I think this country's government is far more corrupt and rotten than we ever dared guess. When a business is about to go under for bankruptcy, many of its least ethical employees will take advantage of the chaos for use as fog-of-bankruptcy cover to loot the company's remaining assets.

Just ask Noted Democrat Super-Donor Sam Bankman-Fried.

I think members of the Deep State and Regime understand that America is going under so it's time to start stealing money from the taxpayers.

But I need more details to get a sense of what is supposedly going on here.

I could see a new version that has no police powers, and is only used for advice, research, and/or coordination for state and local police forces investigating federal crimes. Then maybe a counter-espionage group after FISA is erased, and a new law is passed that forbids domestic surveillance under the ruse of counter-espionage and penalty of death for violations.

According to the report, Biden has a “stiff gait,” and custom orthotics were prescribed to assist with his feet. He continues to exercise five days a week, and his contact lens prescription has been updated.

Dr. O’Connor noted that the most significant health issue that President Biden faced in the last year was his COVID-19 infection over the summer. Despite this, his blood oxygen levels remained above 97%, and his vital signs stayed normal throughout the ordeal. Furthermore, the president hasn’t experienced any residual symptoms related to long COVID.

President Biden is also receiving treatment for non-valvular atrial fibrillation, which causes an irregular heartbeat, but he experiences no related symptoms. Additionally, he has “occasional symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux,” particularly clearing his throat after meals.||

Now: There will only be electric vehicles in 10 years!

10 years ago: In ten years all cars will be totally self-driving and car accidents will be be a thing of the past!

Every month for the past 20 years: Today our company is announcing a new electric vehicle battery design that will soon be ready for mass production! - not enough minerals or energy in world to convert fleet to electric
- not enough grid capacity, and expanding grid capacity impossible without storage or more coal and gas (so what't the point, anyway?)
- costs of minerals/energy will hit a wall as we reach increasing marginal costs as we use lower grade ores. They will never out compete ICE on life cycle costs
- As we convert to wind/solar, expect electricity costs to go up by 10x. that means cost per mile will be much higher than ICE. Even higher if you do not have home charging (city folk) and even higher once highway taxes are included.

I have to wonder if dark matter is an isotope of element zero; neutronium - just neutrons, no protons. It has all the characteristics of dark matter - doesn't interact with normal matter, no visibility (no electron shell) so doesn't interact with electromagnetic waves, but does have gravitational effects.

Neutrons interact with lots of things, Neutron stars are made of them. They emit electrons to go to protons.
Neutrinos, neutral electron like leptons don't interact with much, but we still detect them and know how they work to a great extent.

The fact that there is no theory even postulated to explain Dark Matter (or dark energy) inclines me to think its just garbage. When the Ultraviolet Catastrophe couldn't be explained the Quantum theory was made and led to an explosion of science. The disinterest in proving a theory or even making one leads me to think Physics is dying.

The company hybrid I have driven (Ford Fusion) runs the ICE and motor when you put the peddle down. City driving has motor only, as needed. Highway cruising its the IGE while charging battery.
I woul not buy one but see how hybrids are superior to all electric.

Posted by: Itinerant Alley Butcher at February 16, 2023 07:04 PM (4D+dn)

280 Hybrids started with trucks which benefit from high mileage per year, justifying the expense of having two motors. For most of us having two motors isn't worth the capital investment to be pious.

281 Neutrons interact with lots of things, Neutron stars are made of them. They emit electrons to go to protons.

Individual neutrons decay outside of a nucleus, but they don't decay inside a nucleus - when bound by the strong force. Why wouldn't a pair of neutrons be bound to each other by that same strong force? There is no guarantee that such a nucleus would interact with other nuclei, the way a single neutron does.

fbi/cia/doj completely corrupt and unamerican.

286 If the head of counterintelligence was so compromised, in such a way that blackmail was easily possible, it is standard spycraft that he would be blackmailed, and thus the counterintelligence would be compromised, and thus that the FBI would be seeded with foreign agents of one or more powers. Once enough foreign agents are inside the FBI, where they can act, they can then usher in more foreign spies, who usher in more. Essentially, we no longer know how many of the FBI are actually working for us, and how many for a foreign government. And since these agents are now in the FBI, and the FBI has become heavily politicized (possibly at the behest of foreigners), we know that they will not report this obvious truth, it being too embarrassing at the very least.

The FBI is the chief instrument preventing our own government from being infiltered by foreign agents, with it's compromise, there is now a far greater chance that many people in our government are working for foreign governments. At the very least, there will be "agents of influence" and 'active measures" going on.

And I have noticed that whole American spy networks have been rolled up in China, coincidence?
