John Fetterman Has Checked Himself Into Walter Reed Hospital to be Treated for "Clinical Depression"

He's as fit as a fiddle and how dare you say he's not up to the job of Senator.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) checked himself into Walter Reed Hospital to receive treatment for clinical depression on Wednesday night, his office announced.

"Last night, Senator John Fetterman checked himself into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to receive treatment for clinical depression. While John has experienced depression off and on throughout his life, it only became severe in recent weeks," chief of staff Adam Jentleson said in a statement.

"On Monday, John was evaluated by Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the Attending Physician of the United States Congress. Yesterday, Dr. Monahan recommended inpatient care at Walter Reed. John agreed, and he is receiving treatment on a voluntary basis," he added. "After examining John, the doctors at Walter Reed told us that John is getting the care he needs, and will soon be back to himself."

His wife, Gisele Barreto Fetterman, said she was proud of him for asking for help.

"After what he's been through in the past year, there's probably no one who wanted to talk about his own health less than John. I'm so proud of him for asking for help and getting the care he needs," she said in a Thursday tweet.

You put him through that, Lady Macbeth of Bayonne.

I guess you'll be appointed to fill the seat now, huh?

Was that always the plan, Lady Macbeth of Bayonne?

Of course it was.

This comes on the heels of the New York Times admitting, just last Friday, that maybe Senator Frankenstein, I mean Senator Frankenstein's Monster, isn't fit for the Senate

Noted cruelty enthusiast Victor David Hansen has a simple and highly plausible explanation for this: The New York Times lied about Fetterman's health as a candidate, because they needed the seat.

But now they do a Modified Limited Hang-Out and begin preparing voters for the truth about his health as a Senator. Because Fetterman's health problems may cause him to be absent for key Senate votes in the 51-49 Senate. They wanted him to win the seat so that Democrat governor could appoint a successor.

And now they want him out, so the Democrat governor can do just that.

The New York Times discovers that Fetterman struggles to think and remember how to talk.

Victor David Hanson says that all of this was obvious in his single, late-campaign debate with Mehmet Oz. But the Times lied about it then.

But now they need to get him out of office so that the Democrats can appoint a Senator who won't be in the hospital every other month.

Fetterman, Recovering After Stroke, Labors to Adjust to Life in the Senate

The first-term Democrat is adapting to Congress while coping with the lasting effects of a near-fatal stroke, and the institution is adapting to accommodate him.

He's "laboring" to adjust to working?

Weird, because you assured me he was just fine and fit for duty, and that any suggestion that he wasn't fit for duty was toxic "ableism."

WASHINGTON -- At Senator John Fetterman's desk in the Senate chamber, there is a newly installed monitor that rises or lowers, depending on whether he sits or stands, and provides closed captioning so he can follow the proceedings. At the center dais, a custom desk stand has been built to accommodate the same technology for when he takes his shifts presiding over the Senate.

The sergeant-at-arms has arranged for live audio-to-text transcription for the committees on which Mr. Fetterman serves, and plans to expand the service to all Senate hearings.

Mr. Fetterman, 53, the 6-foot-8, tattooed and goateed Democrat from Pennsylvania who suffered a near-fatal stroke last May and went on to win one of the most competitive seats in November's midterm elections, was never going to blend in seamlessly in the marbled corridors of Congress.

That's not what you were saying in October.

But his adjustment to serving in the Senate has been made vastly more difficult by the strains of his recovery, which left him with a physical impairment and serious mental health challenges that have rendered the transition extraordinarily challenging -- even with the accommodations that have been made to help him adapt.

Oh, he has mental health challenges, now? Because you previously lied and claimed that the only problem he had was with speech, not with cognition itself.

Was this the New York Times preparing us for Fetterman's planned depression reveal?

I think so. If they're alluding to depression without stating it -- then they withheld their scoop here. They avoided reporting the truth in order to give the Democrats time to prepare the public for it.

Now the Times quotes his chief of staff admitting that Fetterman actually needed to resign from the Senate race to heal and recover, but did not. And that he's now paying the price for failing to allow himself recovery time, and will be permanently disabled due to that.

Note again this is his chief of staff speaking.

"What you're supposed to do to recover from this is do as little as possible," said Adam Jentleson, his chief of staff. Instead, Mr. Fetterman "was forced to do as much as possible -- he had to get back to the campaign trail. It's hard to claw that back."

OUT: Fetterman is fit as a fiddle, ableist bigot!

IN: Fetterman is a mentally and physically shattered man who will spend the last few years of his life recovering from the stroke he never recovered from while pretending to be a Senator

On Wednesday, Mr. Fetterman was hospitalized after feeling lightheaded while attending a daylong Senate Democratic retreat in Washington. Tests showed no signs of another stroke and his spokesman said he was in good spirits, talking to family and staff members. But he spent a second night in the hospital on Thursday as doctors monitored him for seizures.

The latest health scare convinced his staff that Mr. Fetterman needs a better plan to take care of himself, both physically and emotionally.

Oh.

Mr. Fetterman declined to be interviewed for this story. But aides and confidantes describe his introduction to the Senate as a difficult period, filled with unfamiliar duties that are taxing for someone still in recovery: meetings with constituents, attending caucus and committee meetings, appearing in public at White House events and at the State of the Union address, as well as making appearances in Pennsylvania.

He's in good physical health and in perfect cognitive health, but some "duties" are too "taxing" for him. You know, strenuous stuff like "meeting with constituents," "attending... meetings," and "appearing in public."

Note the "appearing in public" referred to merely sitting in a chair as Biden droned on for 80 minutes. So he has trouble just sitting in a chair and pretending to pay attention to someone speaking.

These things are taxing for the man the New York Times swore was perfectly up the the challenge of serving as Senator.

...

The stroke -- after which he had a pacemaker and defibrillator implanted -- also took a less apparent but very real psychological toll on Mr. Fetterman. It has been less than a year since the stroke transformed him from someone with a large stature that suggested machismo -- a central part of his political identity -- into a physically altered version of himself, and he is frustrated at times that he is not yet back to the man he once was. He has had to come to terms with the fact that he may have set himself back permanently by not taking the recommended amount of rest during the campaign. And he continues to push himself in ways that people close to him worry are detrimental.

You mean, he shouldn't have remained in the race, and that the people, such as his nasty wife and the Democrat Establishment (including the NYT) who insisted that he remain in the race were in fact engaging in the abuse of a disabled man?

Yes, we said that at the time.

You said the opposite.

And you called us liars and haters of disabled persons for saying so.

The ongoing hearing issue means Mr. Fetterman cannot partake in the hallway scrums with journalists that are part of most lawmakers' daily existence in the Capitol....

These days, Mr. Fetterman, who as lieutenant governor had reporters' numbers in his cellphone and had near-constant running conversations with some of them, has stopped interacting with journalists, whose voices he often cannot hear in the echoing hallways...

For now, Mr. Fetterman is glad to have a little break from the media glare. Current and former staff members describe him as someone who has no desire to be at the center of every negotiation and who campaigned on a promise to be a solid 51st Democratic vote in the Senate supporting President Biden's agenda. He has often been befuddled by the attention he attracts, even from colleagues who stop him for selfies, and wants less of it.

...

Senator Bob Casey, the other Democrat from Pennsylvania, noted that Mr. Fetterman had been widely criticized for his halting debate performance against his Republican opponent, Dr. Mehmet Oz, but was treated more kindly by voters, ultimately winning his race by five points.

"There are a lot of people out there who understand disability, and understand struggle, and he won big," Mr. Casey said.

Again, with the suggestion that those who said, correctly, that Fetterman was not physically or mentally up to the job are just people who hate those with disabilities.

And note, we weren't permitted to say he was disabled. Well, we were allowed to say he had "hearing issues," which is how his campaign and the Regime euphemized his inability to parse human speech.

He compared the accommodations being made for Mr. Fetterman with the Senate installing a ramp for Senator Tammy Duckworth, Democrat of Illinois, a former combat veteran who lost both of her legs in 2004 while serving as a helicopter pilot in the Iraq War.

Yeah it's just like that, Bobby-Boy.

Amy Klobuchar basically says she's inspired that this mentally-disabled man is just trying to fit in with the non-disabled:

Ms. Klobuchar said her sense is that Mr. Fetterman wants to be in the Senate, despite the additional challenges he faces.

"If you're not happy, you don't show up at all these things," she said. "He seems very active and wants to be involved in what's going on. He seems glad to be there."

Yay. He wants to be in the Senate!

We are saved!

Turns out, though, that he's clinically depressed and doesn't want to be in the Senate.

The "checking himself into the hospital for clinical depression" is the cover story for why he's going to resign. See, what we told you about his physical and cognitive health was true, but it turns out he's psychologically unwell, so he's going to do what we all said he'd have to do -- quit the Senate and let the Democrat governor appoint a successor that no voter actually voted for.

80 Willowed:

I was a poll watcher in a middle class (home owners) black suburban neighborhood of Houston in the 2020 election - with a nominal black person on the Dem national presidential ticket. There were a total of 86 votes in the precinct - all on election day. Maybe 10,000 people live in that precinct.

You're telling me that a brain damaged white guy got a million or so votes in Philly? Please. How stupid do you have to be to think that is true?
Posted by: An Observation sez China Joe not my president at February 16, 2023 03:28 PM (CecP5)

I lived in South Side Chicago for some years. Never saw another voter when casting a ballot. My brother lived in a block sized apartment building on the North Side - the poll guy said he was the only one at that address registered to vote.

Yet this city outvotes the suburbs and downstate? Not likely, without "help"

82 Did the media's incessant lying on Fetterman's behalf really help him though? I understand news junkies get wrapped up in these things, but PA Dem voters likely consisted of two groups: (1) people who were voting Dem even if the candidate was literal roadkill, and (2) fraudulent ballots. News doesn't really affect those. I find it hard to believe there was a third John Q. Public element that was like, "He seems retarded, but newspaper says he ain't, and that's good enough for me!" Why can't the GOP get out the vote better in their own counties in PA is what I want to know.

As far as I can tell, the GOP establishment prefers low-turnout elections where the voting population is largely suburban whites. 266 My favorite tidbit is this… Disney believes Lightyear and Strange World both bombed due to “confusion in the marketplace from families who were trained during the pandemic just to wait for animated features to end up on Disney+.”

In other words, Disney has learned nothing.

Yeah, that was the problem, and not the fact both of those films were loaded with homosexuality, and no sane parent wants to exit a movie theater explaining alternate sexual lifestyles to a five-year-old.

Perverts.

338 It's the story of a lot of blue states. The large urban areas cancel out the suburban/urban vote.

Almost invariably now, on any controversial election in Oregon, Portland's county votes one way, the rest of the state votes the other way, and Portland wins because of the North Korean-levels of support for the Left in Portland.

It's been twenty-five years since a Democratic gubernatorial candidate has had the majority of the vote in Oregon, outside of Portland's county.

No matter - they all won.

388 For those who are worried about the entire Ohio River watershed, here's my back-of-the-envelope, FWIW:

55 tank cars burned. 34500 gals per car. 55 * 34500 = about 2Mgal.
Let’s assume that that total volume was dumped in the Ohio River. (Of course, only a small fraction will ever reach the river. Some will remain onsite, some dispersed in ground, some in air. But to be apocalyptic, let’s dump the whole 2Mgal of toxics into the river at once.)
Ohio River flows along at 385000 cfps. 1 cuft = 7.5 gals. So 385000 * 7.5 = 2.9 Mgal per second.
There are 86400 seconds in a day. One day’s river flow is enough to dilute ALL the toxics by 100000:1.

Of course. The cabal simply couldn't afford to let the Senate slip, even to an inoffensive figure such as Dr. Oz. Certain people criticizing Trump or even the Trump RNC neglect the fact that 2020 and 2022 enjoyed major Republican turnout across the board.

In fact, Florida is the one of the few states where the DNC threw the race like Bobby Riggs. Quite the coincidence.

420 It's the same issue in NY. NYC Democrats basically outvote the rest of the state. So the state senate and legislature largely represent the Uber liberals and are running the place to the ground. Now upstate is emptying because nobody wants to pay for this shit, and even people of means are getting out of the city because it's not safe and they're trying tp foist the liberal woke crap on private schools. The budget is going to have a big hole in it when they wake up and realize all
The tax money funding this crap is dying up and Congress will no longer plug the holes. It's why Adams is getting squirrely in NYC already. He's seeing the revenue shrink because nobody wants to work there anymore and the money residents have had enough.

This is just sadsack, loser talk to use Trump-like terminology. Dems don't control every county in the country by a longshot nor all secretary of state offices. There are certain counties that the GOP cannot win in relatively close races due to fraud. That's not true in all counties. And this fatalistic Mitt Romney 47-percent-are-against-me-no-matter-what attitude is part of the problem. The GOP has decided not to appeal to anyone in a way that could build its brand and to not even try and mobilize its own base in the counties it controls. The losing isn't all about fraud. Sorry, this isn't a GOP country in reality that's simply being snatched out of GOP hands.

474 Ace,
What you are missing is it probably didn't matter who ran. It could have been a dead John Fetterman and he would have won. Not because of fraud but because enough people in PA will always vote D no matter what, and with mail in balloting those who never turned out for the Ds, just mark the box and send it in now. Philly and Pittsburgh and a couple of the other cities just need to do their 80-20 thing now and a Dem will always win. These States, I think, are permanently lost (or at least for several generations), and to win national and Senatorial elections, the GOP should focus on AZ, GA, and WI where the margin is still thin enough they can win these seats/States with aggressive ballot harvesting themselves and getting whatever percent of conservative vote that does not show up at the polls to mail in. I'm in Massachusetts where the whole State is effectively lost. PA was purple for a time but now I think pretty blue. The Fetterman example proves it.

What you are missing is it probably didn't matter who ran. It could have been a dead John Fetterman and he would have won. Agreed. Ds and Rs are now simply brands. Voters - especially Democrats - vote for the brand they agree with, knowing that if something happened to the individual cogs, the leadership will replace that cog with someone who'll vote in a way consistent with that brand.

523 "He wants to be in the Senate."

When I was in boot camp, one of the recruits buttoned his "blouse" (the shirt garment) up to the collar. Recruits leave their shirts visible, it's a sort of literal grooming test, to see if the shaved to the line of their shirts, and that their undershirts of of "good service" meaning a tight collar and properly fitted and tucked.

Lots of haberdashery in the Marine Corps back then, now it's about respecting hair color, when while I was in we had no hair.

Anyways. . one day, a recruit buttoned up to the collar as a proper "Fleet Marine" does, but recruits aren't Marines, and the Drill instructor casually asked why he buttoned himself up like he's a Marine? The recruit said, "It looks right SIR." a very reasonable answer to a loaded question.

The Drill Instructor said, "Well, I'd like to wear skin tight tights with a big red S on my chest but that just wouldn't be regulation now would it bossel(the recruits name) NOW REMOVE THOSE FUCKING BUTTONS OR I WILL CUT THEM OFF!
