Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 2/13/23![]() When asked if the U.S. military had ruled out an extraterrestrial origin for the unidentified objects, [U.S. Air Force General Glen] VanHerck responded: “I’ll let the intel community and the counterintelligence community figure that out. I haven’t ruled out anything.” “At this point we continue to assess every threat or potential threat, unknown, that approaches North America with an attempt to identify it,” VanHerck continued. A U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jet shot down shot down the unidentified ‘octagonal’ object over Lake Huron using a Sidewinder missile. It's so outrageously dumb but the implication is clear: the Biden Junta's calculus is that there is a large enough percentage of the American people who are braindead enough to believe this. It's shrewd and evil, yet perfectly understandable given the fact that since these objects are indeed Chi-Com military balloons – the filthy Mongoloids are incensed that we had the gall to shoot them down despite floating across our territorial borders and even demanding we return the wreckage! – the prima facie evidence of rank incompetence (or worse) is hard to dismiss even for the lowest of LIVs. It also helps to distract from Seymour Hersh's blockbuster allegations that Joe Biden, consciously or unconsciously, gave the order for the United States military to blow up the NordStream pipeline, a deliberate act of sabotage against the Russian Federation and in fact an act of war. Although, the media's complete ignoring of one of their icons' damning accusations against America speaks volumes. Yeah, they loved it when he attacked the American government. Except this time the government is anything but American. In February 2022, just weeks before the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, Joe Biden told a journalist at the White House that if Russia were to invade, it would mean the “end” of the Nord Stream pipeline. When pressed on how he would accomplish this, Biden simply stated that he “promised” the pipeline would no longer be operable. [Seymour] Hersh argues that Biden kept his word. . . . . . The sheer hubris of the alleged assault boggles the mind. If, as seems clear, Joe Biden followed through on his word and had the Nord Stream pipelines disabled, it puts the lie to all the high-minded talk about defending “democracy” in the West. No American voted for conflict with a nuclear-armed Russia. Congress did not declare war, as the Constitution mandates. Nor did the United States make any bones of consulting with its ostensible European allies. . . . . . There is a deeper truth at the bottom of the Batlic, amidst the Nord Stream wreckage. It isn’t just Germany that is no longer a sovereign power—in fact, the very concept of the nation-state has been destroyed. All of Europe is an American satrapy. France, England, Italy, Austria, Luxembourg—these petty powers have no real existence as independent entities. They are neither economically nor militarily self-reliant. They cannot even secure their needed energy requirements without outside intervention. . . . . . The nation-state died in 1945. The mid-20th century Anglo-American-Soviet alliance made sure of it. American liberals and Soviet communists at Tehran, Yalta, and Potsdam marched in complete lockstep on the future of the world order. There were tensions, of course, but there was no doubt in the minds of either Franklin Roosevelt or Josef Stalin that the postwar order would be fundamentally leftist. Both liberals and communists could agree that the highest human aim was the satisfaction of man’s material needs (filling his stomach) and the elevation of the oppressed. For the communists, such a world would come into being with the global revolution of the proletariat. Liberals, on the other hand, thought it could come into being by exporting McDonald’s, blue jeans, and rap music on a global scale. In our own time, even this difference has disappeared. The American Left now openly encourages the “marginalized” and “oppressed” to fight back against “systemic racism” on a global scale. American embassies across the planet fly the pride flag and display Black Lives Matter signs. The economic proletariat under communism transformed into a racial proletariat under liberalism. . . . . . Today, a transnational ruling “elite” centered in Washington, D.C. exerts quasi-planetary rule in the name of “human rights.” It is wrong to call this arrangement in any way American. Ordinary middle-class voters in the heartland have zero say in the methods and ends of this system. Americans, of course, are forced to pay, in blood and treasure, to keep this framework in place. . . . . . The Nord Stream bombing displays enormous chutzpah from the American ruling elite. But it is also a clarion call for all those with eyes to see and ears to hear: A world dominated by D.C. is a world without freedom and real political life. Europe will never again be a heart of culture and civilization as long as it remains in the thrall of D.C.’s power. Until that yoke is thrown off, Europe will remain a medieval history theme park, its churches empty, its militaries laughable, and its people morally and spiritually degraded. Americans outside the hallowed halls of financial and political power in New York, D.C., and Silicon Valley are little better off.Despite the fact that a D.C. dominated world would in fact be a Beijing/Davos/Brussels dominated world with D.C. as a satellite branch perhaps, read the whole thing. It crystallizes a lot of things that I have been talking about for quite a while now; in essence the illusion and myth of both the American two-party system, the supposed independent nature and morality of those in the intel and law enforcement communities and now, at least in part, the need to take a second more serious look at the attitudes of people like Sy Hersh and others on the left. At least to the extent of recognizing and taking serious the ones who railed specifically against the depredations and hypocrisy of our vaunted institutions and not of the founding itself. I am of the belief that there is a radical (pun intended) difference between people like Hersh and Glenn Greenwald and say Ibram X. "Krement" Kendi and Michael Moore. We have seen first hand what the military industrial complex along with the intel, foreign service and now law enforcement bureaucracies have done since Afghanistan and of course Vietnam. We have seen what they have done not only abroad but to the American people here at home who have dared speak out in protest to stolen elections, cultural depravity, lockdowns and the litany of issues, real and imagined, being used to completely steal our freedom and eradicate the last vestiges of our nation and society. I'm not saying it's aliens . . . but it sure as hell is an alien culture looking "to serve man" or at least America as founded up on a platter.

Eventually, it was a chicken company — A.L.A. Schechter Poultry Corp. — that challenged the oppressive National Industrial Recovery Act (1933), a main component of the New Deal, in the Supreme Court. By unanimous decision, the court ruled in 1935 that key parts of the act and its delegation to expert panels of matters that should in fact be legislated were unconstitutional. The Schechter case was one of a series of rulings against the New Deal. Evidently, the managerial state had failed to stimulate economic recovery and in fact extended the Depression.

AtC RTd a lefty loon, it was evil. Unspeakable evil. The next wave is all out war on the elderly. Starts with the premise that because of advances in technology, the elderly no longer have any useful knowledge to pass on. So what, then, is the point of keeping them alive? They are a burden to society and we should stop allowing them any conveniences or courtesies of civilization. No more job protections, no more income support, and raise property taxes with age to force them into smaller living arrangements. We aren't going to force them to die, we will just make life unbearable so they make the choice to die on their own.

++++ Transactionally, perhaps. The rational leftists have reached a conclusion that is compatible with conclusions drawn from other corners: that the unaccountable, corrupt, incompetent and malicious central government has evolved into something untenable and irredeemable and must be radically reformed or even remade entirely. The real problem with such alliances is that the solution to the identified problem will be radically different. "What comes next" will be untenable to at least one party in an alliance of opposites. Like in China. The communists and the nationalists were very loosely aligned by way of "we need to deal with the Japanese problem." As soon as that problem went away courtesy of the US, they immediately turned on each other. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at February 13, 2023 08:09 AM (t0OGg) 94

So we went from no known (or no disclosed) "spy balloons" to three inside of a month.
I wonder how long it has actually been going on. It makes me wonder if the Pentagon's assertion that these things were being launched and used at least as far back as the Trump administration is correct. If it is, that poses a lot of *very* uncomfortable questions, like "why did the Pentagon keep it a secret from the executive in at least two administrations" and "why did the Pentagon do nothing to intercept the devices" and "why did the Pentagon determine that keeping the executive - and therefore the diplomats who could engage with the source country - in the dark was the best approach to the problem" and "was the Pentagon still operating under 'Open Skies' assumptions even after we exited the treaty" and "was there intelligence value in a 'hands-off' approach?" Because the Pentagon isn't smelling like roses on this whole thing, and each additional device they shoot down poses additional questions. Running a sortie isn't cheap but it isn't outlandishly expensive in the grand scheme things and it gives a lot of control over where, when and how the intercept (and subsequent crash) occurs. Plus we have the stuff ready to go anyway with no engineering requirements. I'm not going to question the tactics. Now, propulsion and guidance would be an issue along with the fact that it would take millennia to get anywhere. Posted by: I used to have a different nic at February 13, 2023 08:18 AM (z99Zw) 111

Vinyl Chloride, per wiki: (note the first couple of sentences, *tinfoil hat*)
The United States currently remains the largest VCM manufacturing region because of its low-production-cost position in chlorine and ethylene raw materials. China is also a large manufacturer and one of the largest consumers of VCM.[3] Vinyl chloride is a gas with a sweet odor. It is highly toxic, flammable, and carcinogenic. From Feb. 5, 2023:
||EAST PALESTINE, Ohio — Governor Mike DeWine of Ohio has issued a mandatory evacuation order for those residing within a mile of a train derailment in the eastern part of the state. The train, carrying 150-200 cars, derailed on Friday in East Palestine, Columbiana County and caught fire, stretching from a quarter to a half-mile along the tracks. Although the intensity of the fire has decreased, it is still burning as of Sunday evening. The evacuation notice follows a “drastic temperature change” in one of the rail cars, which could lead to an explosion that could send shrapnel up to a mile away, the Governor’s Office said.|| https://tinyurl.com/28e4kkem Posted by: andycanuck (Vwz3I) at February 13, 2023 08:53 AM (Vwz3I) 205

The SB was well played by both teams, for once. We nearly had a defensive player score twice on fumble recoveries, had the longest punt return in SB history, both quarterbacks played well in spite of significant problems with a body part (ankle with Mahommes and throwing shoulder with Hurts) and both offensive lines dominated the defensive lines who were outstanding throughout the rest of the year.

When Ben Ratner’s family signed up in 2021 to be extras in the movie “White Noise,” they thought it would be a fun distraction from their day-to-day life in blue-collar East Palestine, Ohio.
Ratner, 37, is in a traffic jam scene, sitting in a line of cars trying to evacuate after a freight train collided with a tanker truck, triggering an explosion that fills the air with dangerous toxins. In another scene, his father wears a trench coat and hat while people walk across an overpass to get out of town. Directors told the group they wanted them to look “forlorn and downtrodden” as they escape the environmental disaster. The 2022 movie was shot around Ohio and is based on a novel by Don DeLillo. The book was published in 1985, shortly after a chemical disaster in Bhopal, India, that killed nearly 4,000 people. The reporter arrested in East Palestine started talking live to his TV station in the gymnasium as DeWine started his press conference. East Palestine cops told him to stop his broadcast, then told him to leave and when he did not they put him on the floor and cuffed him. DeWine has said he should not have been arrested and my guess is the charge of disorderly conduct will be dismissed. But people will try to make this into some giant government conspiracy of silencing journalists.

National Cheddar Day, huh? Good thing I just had some with my breakfast.
And speaking of cheese… Last week I posted a comment that I love Cheez Wiz, as well as cheeses and cheese-adjacent foods. In response, somebody asked about maggot cheese, and I responded that I would probably try it, if we’re going to be eating bugs anyway. Then somebody asked about “fromunda,” which I assumed was, like maggot cheese, an actual kind of cheese. I responded that I had never tried fromunda, but that maybe I would try to find some. So, in Giant yesterday, I asked the employee who was restocking the cheese section if they carried fromunda. He was an older gent who was obviously not a native speaker of English, so I had to repeat the word several times, a little louder, and at one point spelled it out for him, but he was not familiar with the name and finally said that they didn’t carry it. So, when I got home asked my wife about fromunda, and said I had heard about it from the Horde. At which point, she suggested I consult Urban Dictionary. Which I did. The Vinyl Chloride monomer is nasty shit:
Vinyl chloride finds its major application in the production of PVC. It is volatile, so the primary exposure is via inhalation, as opposed to the consumption of contaminated food or water, with occupational hazards being highest. Prior to 1974, workers were commonly exposed to 1,000 ppm vinyl chloride, causing "vinyl chloride illness" such as acroosteolysis and Raynaud's Phenomenon. The symptoms of vinyl chloride exposure are classified by ppm levels in ambient air with 4,000 ppm having a threshold effect.[18] The intensity of symptoms varies from acute (1,000–8,000 ppm), including dizziness, nausea, visual disturbances, headache, and ataxia, to chronic (above 12,000 ppm), including narcotic effect, cardiac arrhythmias, and fatal respiratory failure.[19] RADS (Reactive Airway Dysfunction Syndrome) may be caused by acute exposure to vinyl chloride. Similar has happened in other totalitarian states, and you could argue that the "Bay of Pigs" incident was a similar phenomenon, too. The biggest example I can think of is when the KGB tried to nuke Honolulu and pin it on the Chinese in an attempt to trigger a nuclear war between the US and Red China so the USSR could rule as the sole remaining superpower. The lost a submarine in the process and it led directly to both a massive purge of the KGB executive ranks and the removal of the USSR's atomic arsenal from KGB control and its transfer to the Red Army. I agree, not these promotions - a few of their points are heretical while the bulk ranges between banal and profane. While visiting a parent at the nursing home, caught the first spot with the horrible claim that we are to stop being adults and be like children. That is grade-A "Gospel According to Snoopy" exegesis of the passage that is in obvious conflict with many passages that exhort believers in Christ to be "put away childish things", "go from drinking milk to eating meat" (in terms of learning doctrine and spiritual growth), to "train up a child in the way he should go", the very concept of older teaching the younger as a means of church culture...
