Definitely watch: Naughty dogs regret their recent actions.

Dog skateboards down concrete stairs. And he brought the skateboard up there, so he intended to do it.

Born to be domesticated.

A dog rescue story.

Border collies and another breed (corgis?) playing with a balloon.

Golden retriever got a brand-new kitten.

Can an armadillo catch a ball? He sure can. He sure can. Though I think he might be trying to Do Some Sex to it.

Once again we find ourselves in this awkward position.

Snow-covered trees sculpted by the wind into remarkable shapes.

Warning: Sloth crossing. (This may take a while.)

YOU: My dog really loves my piano playing.

YOUR DOG: This lap is warm and she can't get anything to eat without alarming me.

Corgis have short legs. Looks like border collies playing with other border collies.
They come in different colors.

There is the German fairy tale about the old woman who had her cow graze on the sod roof of her hut, and because she was taken with fear that it would fall off, she tied a line around it's neck and ran it down the chimney to to tie to her wrist so she could tell when it got to close to the edge, but she could stay inside and do chores

As you can guess, the cow fell off the roof and dragged the old woman up the chimney

When I was young and all my Aunts and Uncles were alive, they would get together yearly to have have a potluck and sing a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. I can't sing a note but it was incredibly fun.

There was a group that couldn't tour or play a venue because of the coof and would play in their director's living room or back porch, and it reminded me so much of the potlucks.

189 183 This thread seems to be unusually slow this evening. Everyone hung over from the Super Bowel festivities? Full disclosure: I watched about 4/5 of the game, avoided the half-time show entirely, and ignored the ads as much as I could. And didn't give the NFL one thin dime. It was a pretty good football game.

Posted by: Helena Handbasket at February 13, 2023 09:34 PM (llON

Maybe these "weather balloons" are aerial drone-bearers, that carry a flock of small drones across vast distances, and then release them as targets of interest come within range? Could explain the "empty" one with strings hanging off it. Also, balloons are very, very cheap. Send over a hundred decoy balloons for every one that has an intelligence payload.

198 At what point do good people in federal agencies stop listening to the Southern Poverty Law Center and stop pretending that they aren't a progressive/communist NGO and not some holy non partisanfountain of knowledge.

About the same time somebody like IronGrampa takes down his "Back the Blue" flag, and stops droning on and on about his oath. First of never. About the same time Hannity stops talking about all those great ham and eggers.

You seldom see people stopping the things that gave them the strength to do mighty things.

I will never stop not stopping, I am not particularly cute, I am not particularly physically gifted anymore, what I am is resolute and resourceful.

IG ran on honor and duty, Hannity ran on "our great values" and the communists run on "by any means necessary."

When people warned a lot of good normal Americans that there were actual no bullshit communists infiltrating the civil service under Clinton people shrugged and said "this is all over a blowjob."

Well "sure."

Herer we sit, Clinton being a moral failure who got to keep his job begat Obama not being able to be criticized on any plane begat a literal cognitively impaired serial liar....

they say victory has a thousand fathers and failure is an orphan....

I'd say this failure has about 71 milliion parents.

In my career prior to becoming the Barre Teacher to the Stars, I lead a global org so I got to travel all over the world. My current SO is Italian who grew up back and forth between Italy, MS and NC, hence the connection with going there. I really am lucky with this, it isn’t lost on me at all.

I think my favorite media idiocy was their trying to make the Congressional baseball shooter a Republican.

That or the DC sniper mess, given I was living at Aberdeen then and golly I got rousted twice when they were "profiling."

Other than the shooter not being a loner, not being white, and not driving a van they got everything right.

214 You seldom see people stopping the things that gave them the strength to do mighty things.

Exactly right, in your own way. Perfectly stated.

Nobody here, that is loud and proud, was ever poor during Reagan. Not a damn one. Nobody was poor during Reagan, if the narrative is to be believed. Rising tide, and all that.

It's not even a matter of "mighty things". Simply a matter of personal profit.

At this point, I don't know what to tell you. Reagan was just a cat that I saw shot on TV, while we bounced from relative to relative.

I also was left kinda' speechless like this when Elvis died. When Lennon died. When Bear Bryant died. Lots of folks around me seemed to think it was a big deal. I wondered why they acted so stupid about it.

Of course, I also wondered why they hung on the preacher's every word every Sunday.

I don't know what to tell you, Reagan advocated that the greatness of America was in every American. I grew up in a country that was convinced it was going to lose to the Soviets in the "smart set." Reagan was a rejection of that and a belief in us.
