Andrew Cuomo: Let's Face It, the Southern States are Right on Immigration, and Joe Biden Opened Up the Border with No Plan at All for the Mass Rush by Illegal Aliens

Even Andrew Cuomo -- yes, corrupt former governor of New York Andrew Cuomo -- says "the southern states were right" about immigration and that Biden was wrong to "open the border" without a plan for what to do with the teeming millions who then swarmed into the US.

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has ripped President Biden's chaotic open border policy -- blasting the administration as unprepared and admitting that the "southern states were right."
"It was a mistake for President Biden to open the border without having a plan to handle the tremendous flow of people," Cuomo, 65, said in the latest episode of his "Matter of Fact" podcast, released Wednesday.
"President Biden had said he would do it in the campaign -- but you can't change a policy unless you have the program in place to manage the change," he continued, referencing Biden's reversal of Trump-era restrictions on immigration to the US.
The scandal-scarred former politician accused the Biden administration of not understanding the "consequences of enacting those promises."
"The southern states were right that opening the border created a tremendous hardship for them to handle. They were right that the federal government was not prepared," Cuomo declared, though he disagreed with those states busing migrants north to sanctuary cities.

Since Biden, 80, took office in January 2021, a record number of illegal immigrants have poured into the US after his administration reversed several hardline policies enacted by former President Donald Trump, 76 -- including the "Remain in Mexico" policy that required would-be asylum seekers to await their immigration hearings south of the border.

This is the Murdoch-owned New York Post which is claiming the minimum-possible efforts to stop the unending flow of illegals into our country are "hardline" measures.

"Hardline measures" like demanding that those applying for political asylum apply for asylum from Mexico, where they are obviously no longer threatened by the gangs and governments of their home countries which they are (quite) allegedly fleeing.

Or "hardline measures" like demanding those supposedly fleeing their countries only for the sake of physical safety apply for asylum in the "first safe country" they travel to, instead of... you know, walking 500-800 miles to apply for asylum in a country which just happens to be the world's biggest magnet for purely economic migration.

"Hardline" measures imposed by the heartless tyrant Trump, such as these.

Whatever, Murdoch. Whatever, New York Post.

By the way: New York, which is oh so welcoming of Undocumented Americans, is now busing those Undocumented Americans they love so much... to Canada.

New York officials, who once condemned Texas leaders for busing migrants from the southern border, calling the treatment inhumane, are buying bus tickets for newcomers who want to go north and seek asylum in Canada.
Mayor Eric Adams had originally welcomed the migrants, but he has since begun echoing the points of southern leaders, saying the city was buckling from the strain of absorbing more than 42,000 people in need.
Now, city officials are assisting the relocation of a growing number of migrants traveling to New York's northern border, where crossings are surging.
The arrival of the migrants has set off concern among officials in Canada, which has traditionally been welcoming to immigrants but is trying to discourage illegal crossings.
Mr. Adams said on Tuesday that the city was not compelling people to leave, and that New York City's efforts to transport the migrants elsewhere were different from those of southern leaders.
"We are not telling anyone to go to any country or state," he said. "We speak with people and they say their desire is to go somewhere else. So, there's no coordinated effort. We don't have a website, we don't have a recruitment campaign. We're not telling people go to another country."

Except, they are:

New York City has been buying tickets for migrants who want to go to other cities to connect with family or friends for months, officials noted.
The city's policy and Mr. Adams's remarks underscore how jurisdictions of all political leanings are struggling to accommodate a global migration movement.

James Madison is right. Abbott was first. DeSantis did a high profile Martha's Vineyard flight but his subsequent flight to Delaware ended up being a mess both legally and logistically. That flight ended up in Nashville when for reasons unclear, issues, probably federal govt warnings, caused it not to go forward.

Abbott gets the credit here as he has steadily been sending busses to all parts blue on a very regular basis. Even teh Dem mayor of El Paso was sending migrants via bus northwards.

Exactly. It's about increasing the pool of ballots available for fraud. Before Gingy got her citizenship she had to fight with Baltimore DMV every time she renewed her license, because they always automatically registered her to vote. Aetius, if you want an interesting read, Read the Managerial Revolution from Walter Dean Burnham published in the 40's. Ironically at the time, WD Burnham was a commie but described the development of the nomenklatura to a t and how they would govern. As Burnham aged, he moved consistently to the right and ended up having a column for a time at National Review as well as a professorship at UT Austin.

But, the managerial economy ignores the real problem where ownership and control get separated. Essentially, the managers end up running the place to their satisfaction which occurs under capitalism (see corporate management dysfunction), communism (the managers had it pretty spiffy which is why Vlad is nostalgic for that era) but front line workers, customers, and stockholders get screwed over and over again. Control and manipulation of information such as financials, true costs of products, and so on is one way that managers keep power over the masses. You can also apply that to any government institution too.

After the end of vietnam, the DoD decided we needed to look at ourselves. The Army created a "council of colonels" and they came up with a list of needed changes. No special treatment, nothing was off limits. Out of that came the Army of the 80's which was the Army at its best.
We need this kind of introspection again.
There isn't anyone on Active Duty today with experience fighting a mid or hi intensity war. The Brigade and Division commanders of today grew up in a military where platoons were sent out to break down doors on homes. Our Army needs an overhaul.
